The Destiny City Reservoir opened about a year ago and is an easy escape from the big city. It’s a five minute drive outside of the Eastern side of town and features clear water and sandy beaches--although, the sand here is notorious for squeaking when you step on it. It’s a hot spot for all fun summer activities, but it’s been back in the news recently for mysterious reports of some strange, aquatic monster. Some accounts say they’ve spotted a twenty foot long, snake like creature capable of rearing a long neck high above the water. It’s hard to tell if the videos are doctored, but there are too many rumors to dismiss easily. Something strange might be lurking deep in the water. Are you the type to investigate this or is it enough to dampen your waterfront plans? While you may not ever actually interact with the supposed cryptid, you can spot a strange creature in the distance. And, who knows what youma are crawling in the area, anyway?
The beach normally wasn't a place Akito would go, it was too bright and he'd burn, but on the news there were reports of some kind of creature in the water. That was why he'd brought up going to Hayate. Now that they'd gotten done waiting to get into the parking lot, the line of cars was rather long, he was finally able to step foot onto the sand - and he did. "It squeaked." Wide eyes turned to his partner before he stepped on the sand again to prove what he said.
It squeaked.
Sand wasn't supposed to do that...but it did that here. Staring at the sand, as if it might attack him, he took another step...and another. It continued to make noise as he headed closer to the water. This wasn't normal and a monster was said to be in the water...but this was a man made lake. So unless someone put something into the water it should be safe. Nothing could just swim into the water here...it wasn't like the ocean or a water way connecting to something bigger.
Looking at the large umbrella he was carrying Akito looked over to Hayate who was also carrying a few things. They hadn't brought much, they also didn't own much for summer beach things, and he couldn't help but smile. It was rare for them to have the same days off work, as normally they didn't get a lot of time together unless it was at night to have dinner and sleep. Today they'd gotten lucky, he'd also asked for the day off, and he was hoping they could enjoy it as much as possible.
"Hayate, I think we should start discussing some things we'll need for the winter - things to save for." Last winter had been brutally cold and they'd rushed to get blankets since affording a proper comforter and bed set was a bit more than what they had money for. This year though he wanted to save for it and grab something perhaps during black friday, which he hadn't known about last year. They had a load of blankets but most were cheap, it was why they had the need for so many, this year he did want to fix that. It was such a basic thing, at least to most people, but for them it was a real need and something that was a bit pricey.
