Rydan found himself in a bit of a mess while trying to take down an inhumane ankle trap he, Sir Graclessness had managed to catch himself in it. He was now dangling suspended by one ankle. He was also swaying gently, which did not help matters at all. "Help!" He yelled hoping that at least someone would hear and investigate the rare copse of scrub he was in. Why had he left Matori? Oba was cursed darn it!

Thea was on her way to Matori, the promise of pearls having caught her attention more than anything. A small knife in one hand peeling the skin off a fruit in the other, when she heard the call for help. The girl blinked a few times then lifted a brow as she turned toward the sound. Her long ears at least helped with that. Moving over to the area she peeked in, only to see someone hanging upside down. "What're you doing?" She didn't move to help them right away. Instead she cut a slice of the fruit out and brought it to her mouth to eat. Meanwhile, her eyes looked the person up and down, determining that it was a boy and that he was definitely a hybrid of some kind. "You really shouldn't do that unsupervised. It's not good for ya." Yes, she was poking fun at him, as the half smirk on her face would suggest.

He was pretty sure that this lady was not the one who set the snare. "Oh you know, I'm just hanging out." He was turning purple he could feel it. This was most uncomfortable. "I was trying to take the snare down but well there was a slight complication." She had good vibes, and a sense of humor, some would call that charm. "I do realize now that I should have found a partner. I just didn't want to accidentally pick the layer of the snare as that partner, I didn't exactly bring anyone from home with me." His friends were busy raising triplets after all.

She gave a nod of her head then as she looked at him. "Oh yeah, you're hanging alright." Thea noticed he was still swaying and she moved closer to him, checking the ground for more traps to ensure she didn't end up as he had. She cut out another slice of her fruit and took that bite. As she chewed she reached out and put her hand on his chest to keep him from swaying anymore. "Huh.." Her green eyes looked down at his face before her hand followed. Thea curiously touched the boy's antennae. She hadn't gotten the chance to touch Therair's and she wanted to know how they worked. "So why not just cut the trap down? Why mess with it?"

She sure was touchy but he was not in any position to argue, besides she was gentle so whatever. "Well that had been my intention but my knife was lost and the trap had been set differently then I thought and well this happened." At least she had stopped him from swaying. "My name is Rydan and you have no idea how sorry I am that we met like this. Im not usually this unorganized but if you could see fit to let me down, I'll treat you to a home made feast."

His antennae were a bit weird but she left them alone when he explained how he'd gotten caught in the trap. His offer to treat her to a meal made her smile though. "Nah, my mom's a chef." Last thing she wanted was more food shoved down her throat. It was hard enough to work off the meals her mother made. She tilted her head to the side so that she could kinda look at him better. "How about you come with me to Matori? I was headed there to go diving for pearls." Having a travel buddy would be nice. And if the guy was this helpless he was no threat to her.

"Well yes, that definitely works for me, I was heading back there anyway." He hoped she would release him soon or he thought he might faint from being upside down too long. It was not as easy as it looked but he did not have the abs for the crunch he needed to do to feel better. Though that might be something to work on.

Back there? Well wasn't she lucky to find someone already going that way! Thea nodded her head and tossed her fruit to the ground, no longer hungry. "Alright, hold on to me so you don't go hitting your head." To make sure he understood she wrapped one hand around him and pulled him flush to her own body. Of course it was awkward with him being upside down and his head being level with her hips more or less. Her other hand, with the small knife, reached up to the rope that held his ankle. It took more than a quick cut she would manage to get through it after a minute or two. Thea gave a small startled sound at his full weight.

He blushed furiously at his position but well there was nothing for it. He winced when she made the startled noise. "Sorry, sorry I'm all muscle and bone." She was just a bitty thing but he sensed she had a much stronger sense of self than most people, after all it wasn't just any girl who would cut down a lone male. Well she had judged him right anyway he would take her to Matori. Who knows how long he would have been in that tree. He slid down to the ground and thanks to her did not hit his head. "So sorry for that. Matori is great though you will love it. I stayed for a while I only came to Oba for a change of pace."

As he slid down she tried to lower down but ended up losing her balance a little. This meant that when he was on the ground she fell over to join him. Thea gave a giggle snort then looked at him. "It's fine. You're not that heavy it was just the awkward position." A lie but one to make him feel better. She could barely hold his weight. Of course that made her think that she needed to work out more. "I'm Thea." She shifted so that she could hold her hand out for him to take and grinned at him. "Although I guess I am your white knight since I came to your rescue."

His heart gave a strange little quiver when she giggled. Huh he had never felt anything like that before..must be a side effect of being upside down. "Brave of you madam to save the dragon instead of kill him." He may have been caught with his skirts down but he wasn't a damsel in distress per say. "Thea, is a very pretty name." It suited her. He got up careful not to jar her, truth be told it was entirely too comfortable to be on the ground with her subtle weight on him. She was not heavy, how had she managed to support him for even as long as she did must mean she was strong. He was happy he hadn't broke her. He brushed himself off and rose to his full height. He dwarfed her. Still, it was cute. But he bet if he called her cute she would storm off.

When he called himself a dragon she giggled again, this time shaking her head at him. "Dragons don't get caught in silly traps." Thea thought it cute that he would refer to himself as one. After he got up she did as well, bushing herself off once she was on her feet. "Thanks, it's a nickname. My real name is Theanduri." After telling him her actual name she noticed that he was indeed, much taller than her. It wasn't an illusion from him being upside down. Thea blinked and leaned her head back as she looked at his face. "Whoa.. wait a minute. How did..? When..?" She couldn't seem to manage a full question.

"I think a young dragon could be caught in a trap." He smiled. "Equally as beautiful as its shorter version, truth be told, I have a long version to my name too, are you ready?" "Rydandaroch. Bit of a tongue twister huh?" He paused and saw the face she was making. "Yes well, alkidike blood will do this too you," he blushed furiously. She had noticed how tall he was, she probably thought he was a freak, oh he could just die. This did not stop him from thinking she was beautiful. Was this how Tsa felt everytime Ruulu looked at him? He could kind of understand it now.

"Rydanda.. Rydanna.." She tried to repeat his full name and found it difficult to say so Thea shook her head at him. "Rydan it is.."She blinked a few times again. Thea had gotten that he had Alk blood, the antennae gave that away. She looked down at both their feet then slowly looked him up, her mouth opening as if to say something but nothing came out right away. Once back up at his face she brought a hand up to her own head 'measuring' how tall she was then attempted to 'measure' how tall he was in comparison. Thea felt small. Placing her hands on his shoulders she tried to push him down so that she was taller, but it likely didn't work. So she went to plan 'B'. Thea jumped on him. Using his shoulders as leverage she leaped up and wrapped her legs around him so that she could try to gain the advantage of being taller!

Well he wasn't sure exactly what to do. He dis finally figure out what w
she was trying to do so he helped by holding her waist up. "There, look you win, your the tallest one here." He started ti laugh but had to stop...too much shaking as it were.
He chuckled. "Feisty arn't you."
In truth she reminded him of his mother Myrida. amore wild and beautiful woman there never was...until now. He wasn't sure how he felt about that. He suspected he was developing a cruah but it was tok early for that nonsense wasn't it?
