The temperature was ideal - warm, but not scorching, a light breeze ruffled the trees, and thin clouds drifted across the sky. The morning dew was just beginning to dry off of the grasses in the meadow, as the day worked itself towards noon. A large part of Rosaline wanted to frolic in the sun. but she knew she had to keep a watchful eye on her charges. Today she had two foals in her care, and they'd begged to come to the meadow. Rosaline had only been too happy to oblige. She had fond memories of this place from her own foalhood, which hadn't been all that long ago.

Though she'd only recently been deemed old enough to become a nanny, she'd known this was her path in life when she was even younger than her two charges. She smiled softly as they frolicked through the still wet grass, disturbing the dew. Their innocent laughter and shouts echoed across the meadow. Rosaline had a hard time picturing a more perfect scene.

She turned her head to scan the woods behind her, sure she'd heard a squirrel chattering away. Perhaps she could show the foals ...
