Leaping Faith had a large family. Between all of her siblings, with three canine brothers, one canine sister and an older sister that was also a giant fire bird, she sometimes felt smothered. Add to that that her parents were always speaking about their family and that her aunt was the High Seer of the pack... It was easy to feel forgotten about. So, she'd struck out. She took on a rank that no one in her family had taken on before: a Warden. As such, she acted as a bit of a scout herself, though she never passed over the borders she patrolled.
She prided herself on her work. She was a diligent Warden, keeping an eye out for anyone that could be a danger to the Court. No Troll would get past her and live to tell the tale.
Today was like any other, as far as she could tell. She had been speaking with her older sister, Hera, until she'd been called away on her patrol duties. So, out she went into the woods, her eyes lit for anyone that might try to pass through. Her fur warm, though whether that was spending time with her fiery sister or the sun on her fur was anyone's guess, she felt good about today. Patrolling got her out and about; she felt like her own wolf, rather than one bogged down with her family matters. Out in the wilderness, she could actually have the time to think her own thoughts without feeling that one of her relatives was spying on her.
At least... that's how it usually was. The fur on along her neck began to tingle and she narrowed her eyes. She felt as though someone was watching her. But who could it be? Gritting her teeth for a moment she proceeded forward, her eyes scanning her surroundings. "I know you're out there." She spoke to the forest, too certain of herself to feel foolish. "You'd do better to come out and show yourself to me, rather than having me hunt you down personally." She warned.

Twin shadows followed each other in almost perfect harmony; their footfalls light and their stride long. It was their way. Ember led the pair with surety in the hunt for prey, Umber followed and kept his eyes peeled for threats and other useful resources. They'd spent their whole lives in this easy manner, and with general success. They were both alive, weren't they? These nomads usually kept to themselves but traveled about the Forest and Bluestone areas, hunting for food and shelter. Sometimes, they discovered other trinkets which they traded with other creatures they came into contact with, though rare it was. The pitfalls of their lifestyle were that the pair began to become cocky. It had been sometime since they had a run in with a pack animal, and despite knowing they were in another's territory, they wished themselves luck in continuing to elude any sentries or border guards that might happen to uncover them. Today was not such a lucky day. They caught the scent of a wolf that was fresh, handy that as they were, the pair were downwind from the unknown wolf. They caught themselves just in time and maneuvered their way behind a large rock, obscuring them from view. Waiting, silently, the brothers made themselves comfortable, their patience being well exercised in their lifetime. Waiting and watching, a brown female came into sight. A beautiful female, both brothers thought as their eyes met with appreciation. They weren't sure whose territory they were in at the moment but it was clear this wolf was not out of for her daily stroll. That much was confirmed when she stopped in her tracks near enough the brothers that it was obvious they had been detected. Both brothers grimaced, neither one enjoying confrontation—especially with an attractive female. When she announced they reveal themselves, they once again met eyes; their easy, silent communication all that they required. With a sigh, Ember moved first, followed by Umber, each exiting behind their rock on opposite sides. Wary, as anyone would be, they stopped several feet from the stranger with a silent countenance at first. Sizing up the female, it was Ember who spoke first with a somber but not hostile expression. " There is no need for hunting at this time, thank you." WC: 381

Leaping Faith waited, her fur bristling as she let the time sldie past. She was readying herself to seek out the intruders on her borders, when they made themselves known. At first, she thought she was seeing double, watching how the two wolves walked side by side. They looked perfectly alike. She blinked in surprise, but centered herself as one spoke. She'd been trained for this. She wouldn't let her eyes play tricks on her. She could watch both of them, similar or not. She would not allow doubt to creep into her mind. With doubt came failure.
"Are you aware that you are trespassing on pack grounds?" It was a close truth. They were so close to the border that they may as well be trespassing. She stood tall, looking down her muzzle at the brothers. She was not notably large, but she was fast and if it came down to a scuffle, she would get the first blow in. She would not allow strangers into the Court, but... "What business do you have here?" She asked. The Court wasn't hurting for numbers, per say, but in the fight against the Trolls, they should always be prepared. Her father and brother were the recruiters, trained in the way of charm and observation. Faith had gotten observation as apart of her training, too, but charm was a little lost on her.
Faith thought of what she had to protect at home, her parents, her siblings, her littlest brother, Hoenir, who was too small to do any damage and too sweet to hurt anyone anyway. She swished her tail and warned. "If you come here to do harm, I will see you sent on your way, strangers. We have no need of violence within our borders and you will not be welcomed with such intentions here."

" What a welcoming committee you are," the older brother, Of Ember, spoke with only a touch of condescension but otherwise, lacking hostility or provocation. The brothers were intrigued but not frightened. They knew between themselves, they would fair alright with this female (provided they had spent their whole lives getting out of scrapes together). If she called for her pack, however... that was a different matter. Umber stood by quietly, watching and listening. The defense, if you will, while his brother served as "offense." " May I ask... where are we?" He deliberately ignored her questions, knowing nothing good would come of an honest answer. Instead, he sat down on his haunches as a display of being no immediate threat. " And... your name?" Umber followed suit, his eyes and ears still roving their vicinity. He couldn't help but find the wag of her tail—in a threatening manner, of course—very cute and suppressed a smile. No doubt she would be a lot to handle if it were just the one of them. But he was confident, if it came down to them versus her, they would escape intact. WC: 188

Faith kept her gaze on the twins, her gaze occasionally shifting between the two of them as she waited on the answers to her questions. Yet none came, instead they had questions of their own. She bristled at the commentary of one brother. What did he expect, to be allowed to prance around her territory with no consequences? What a fool.
Unable to suppress it, she rolled her eyes. "You are treading through the Bluestone Mountains." If these were indeed Trolls, though she'd certainly never met any in person, she was not about to reveal which pack she came from. Yet her name... Surely it wouldn't hurt to reveal that, right? She swished her tail behind her and then replied. "My name is Leaping Faith." She answered at last. "Now, answer my questions: Who are you and what intentions do you have in being here?" She eyed the two sitting wolves. "If you cannot answer me, then I have no choice, but to assume that you are enemies of the pack I guard and I will see you both on your way." She insisted. Perhaps her father or brother would've ignored the lack of questions, but they were Scouts. She was a Warden and as such she wouldn't let anything slip by her.

Ember chuckled at her misunderstanding. " I'm aware we're in the Bluestone Mountains... I meant to ask, where were we in terms of your territory. You speak of a pack, do you not?" He paused, politely smiling at her. Umber glanced at the female and decided Ember was pushing her to her patience's limits—a tendency which he displayed with most females. " My brother has forgotten his manners. He is Of Ember, I am Of Umber. We are merely wishing to pass through this area." He bowed his head briefly adding, " A pleasure." He then returned to his scanning, seeming to look away from the female while all the while watching her and the surrounding area. Ember sniffed, dissatisfied that his brother had chosen this moment as a rare opportunity to speak. He had been having fun irking this pretty little female. " Ah, er, yes, my brother is correct. We simply weren't aware we were so deep in claimed territory." While this hadn't been exactly true, it was honest that they hadn't know had deep they actually were, and positively no clue whose land it was. WC: 185

These twins were seriously getting on her nerves and while it was two against one, Faith was ready for them to leave. She found the smile of the first who spoke to her less polite and more sassy. While she could tolerate snark or sass from within the Court, she was not inclined to take the attitude from an outsider.
The second spoke and introduced them. The sassy twin being Of Ember, the other, Of Umber. Their parents must've been feeling really creative on the day of their arrival, she thought.
"I'm here to inform you that you will not be passing through this particular area. It is in your best interest to turn around." She informed them and started towards them. They did not appear to be marred by the scars or markings that would name them as Trolls, but she could never be too careful. Trolls or not, they were still rogue outsiders. She sniffed a bit as she approached, shoving her disdain for rogues down within her. She would tell her family about her encounter with the pair later. If her father or brother had been here, perhaps they would try to recruit them. Thankfully, that was not her job.
Still... these two were persistent. She didn't want to think they were wearing her down, but she wondered if all they were waiting for was the mere answer to their question. "You two don't seem very bright, for I have to repeat myself so many times for you to hear me." She informed them, stopping two feet away from the duo. "Perhaps, however, you will hear this: my pack, the Murkwood Court, is not fond of outsiders coming to our doorstep and pestering us for questions. If you are seeking an information exchange... such as directions in exchange for news of what you've seen or..."
Leaping Faith raised her chin. "If you seek information of my pack in hopes to join its ranks, then you should stop playing the pestering whelp, with your questions and imperitence and instead consider a charming adult, with a witty mind and a tendency to listen to others." She shook her pelt. "Your first impression leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Shall I give you a second chance, one where you can tell me things worthwhile that I may not otherwise know, such as what manner of wolves you are and why you have wandered so far into the forest... or shall I summon my kin and you will encounter someone who may be a little more forward in showing you the exit?"In Good Faith Oh gosh, I thought I replied to this already. My bad! Dx I'd love to keep this RP going if you're up to it!
