User Image It had been a long time coming. The two had been at ends with each other, but it seemed that things were coming to a head. Russet Fawn paced thought the trees headed away from her garden and home. Her eyes seemed to be searching for something as a smaller cream and seal point jack hop bound into the distance. Seems they both were searching for something? Just the look on the doe's face made it seem that it was something to do harm?

-------------------------

Earlier that day...

-------------------------

"What are you doing there Talltale?" Fawn had asked as the jack hop had been digging at something at the far part of the garden.

"Not much, just making a small pit here. Thought we could have a small bonfire." the jack hop grinned,

Fawn watched him with a small bit of concern. Rain had been late for in Homewood and things seemed to be a little dry. She worried about the plants that were growing but a way from where he was digging. An ear flicking, she looked away and back to the jack hop.

"A bonfire? Really Talltale? In the midst of a dry spell? What of the plants?" She voiced her concern as Talltale waved a paw.

"Don't worry, we will be far enough from the plants to do this. You have heard of the new bondinig of nouls with their companions. I just thought..." he paused and glanced up at Fawn, ears back as if to plead.

"And you thought we were close enough to pass this bonding?" Fawn asked as Talltale nodded.

Sighing, they had been together for quite a while now. Seemed that they had been through a good many things and what was one more? Raising a foal almost put them both into old age early, though she was sure that they would be running into a good deal more in the future. Her own and those that happen to come into her care. Eyeing the Jack hop with a serious eye, it seemed that he was well into this idea.

"Alright, Lets see what we can find as a flower to do this.
Fawn agreed as she turned away not really hearing the wooping behind her as Talltale headed off to see what he could find.

----------------------

Back to present

----------------------

Fawn hunted long and hard before returning to the small put that Talltale had made, hanging from her muzzle a flower known as a bleeding heart. It seemed the best one that would represent the both of them. She was always spilling things out and Talltale listening. As she got to the pit, Talltale was sitting there with another flower, but he tossed it away seeing hers. Seems he didn't think his was good enough. Placing the flower into the hole, they built the small cairn of rock over it before striking fire to the plant. As smoke rose from the cairn, the pair lean forward to inhale.

Their vision fall away leaving them in an unfamiliar forest. One that was very dead. Fawn glanced around as Talltale launched himself to land on her back. This wasn't Homewood, it wasn't the bog either. Shaking her head, Fawn glanced the bast she could at the Jack Hop.

"Wonder where we are now." Fawn said looking around, her ears catching the faint rustlings of something in the wind.

"I am not sure, is this what your quests are like with the tree?" Talltale asked as Fawn nodded.

"Something like this. Look up there, what is that in the tree."

Talltale turned around and glanced up at the strange ball in the tree closest to them. nose twitching as it did, the jack hop thumped his foot against her back, gently of course.

"Smells like seeds. They smell old, really old. Older then that one we found in the barrens.' There was excitement in his voice.

"Old, huh?" Fawn repeated as she stepped over to the tree and looked straight up at the bundle.

When they were close to the tree, close enough that Talltale tried leaping up to one of the blackened branches. As sturdy as the branch looked, it snapped like a twig under his light weight. Tumbling back to Fawn's back he frowned slightly.

"Think we're going to need a little of that Botanic magic for this one." he grinned as Fawn tilted her head.

So it was, magic was going to play a big part in reaching these seeds. Deep within her ball of green fire that was her magic flickered to life. Her shoulder itched as she closed her eyes and called upon that magic. Pulling a thread from the ball, Fawn reached out with her horn to the trunk of the tree. Taking a breath, Fawn thrust the green tendril of magic into the tree. The tree itself gave a quiver as life flowed into it. Bark gave a creak as the black began to fall away revealing healthy brown beneath. As the magic spread and revived the tree. New branches started to sprout and reach upwards.

As the tree continued to take on new life, Talltale took the chance to leap onto one of the new branches. It held and allowed him to spring higher towards the seeds. The tree continued to take the life giving magic as leaves started to pop from small buds. Talltale reached the bundle of seeds. They gleamed against the new green that was sprouting up around them.

"I got them." Talltale called down before pulling the bundle from its bindings and made his way down the branches.

Fawn pulled away from the tree before it took more then she was willing to give. Shaking the lightness from her head, she looked up as Talltale returned with the seeds. Being the Triumphant look on his face she could only grin as well. Something new for the garden, this she was sure, but also something new for other botanics to stew over while they grew.

"Wonderful, not lets head back home. Before this place calls out for more magic."/color] While the trees never did speak to her, but she could feel their need for life, tugging at her heart strings. She couldn't revive them all, but perhaps the first could help the others... In whatever way a tree could that was...

"Yes, home sounds wonderful." Was all Talltale said as Fawn turned to head home. Seeds in paw, the pair felt closer then ever..
