Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

Kaimana walked along the beach. The young Matori was enjoying the seabreeze that rustled through his long hair, the gusts twisting through the teal tendrils and lifting them slightly behind him as he walked along the pristine shoreline. Other than his leather leggings the man didn’t wear much clothing, he much preferred to enjoy the sunlight as it soaked into his skin. The warmth of the sun was nice and something he had always cherished especially during the last five years when he travelled back and forth from Matori and into new countries. It was a comfort that reminded him of his grandmother’s hugs that he had enjoyed when he was younger before losing her three years ago. The loss still stung but at least Kaimana knew that she was in a better place now. The older Matori woman had been stern but kind and he knew that she had lived a long and healthy life. If anything she could finally be with his parents and keep them in line. It was mostly a joke but part of Kaimana could imagine it. If there were spirits in the world then his grandmother would be there to direct them all. A small smile crossed his lips at the thought. Rest in peace, Grandmother.

He was just thankful that his sister had been there with him when their Grandmother was near her time. The two of them had started branching out after the battle with the Dretch to do their own things, Devika with healing and Kaimana with helping Kieran to map new trade routes and countries, but in those last few weeks they had taken the time to take care of their grandmother and to ensure that she was content when she passed. It was something that they had never gotten to do with their parents who had died in battle when they were just younglings and Kaimana was thankful that he could show his love and appreciation to their grandmother who had taken such good care of them for so many years. When they said their final farewells both Devika and Kaimana had taken a couple of more weeks to just spend time together before getting back into the cycle of traveling between Matori and other countries. Kaimana went a bit further out into Tale and Sauti while Devika stayed mostly around Oba and Matori to learn the art of healing from her Oban mentor.

Not only had he taken up cartography but Kaimana had also learned more about art and drawing whatever flora and fauna that he could find. He was pretty good at capturing the essence of an animal on parchment and had even gotten good at drawing faces of those he travelled with. Some of the merchants he had helped also asked for drawings of their families and the fighter had gladly obliged for some extra coin. If I knew I was such a natural then I probably would have thought twice about picking up a trident. He smirked as he jumped over a rock and continued along the shoreline. It still felt better to have a lance in hand because it gave him some security. That and having a snaptrotter along was even better for Kaimana’s safety while he visited foreign countries. Thankfully Kieran had taught him a thing or two about the creatures they encountered and it wasn’t long before Kaimana had claimed a snaptrotter as his mount. The creature was fun and often useful for whenever Kaimana decided to venture into water passages while they traveled. With lots of practice over the last few years he had gotten better at riding the snaptrotter in the water while keeping his trident ready to fight anything that came near. He rode other familiars, such as Xaraan, whenever they were in the desert or crossing the plains but he was close to his snaptrotter, Myu, who kept him company whenever he was home in Matori.

Even now the silver-blue snaptrotter was resting along the shoreline, “Really?” Kaimana laughed as he finally found her, “Out of all places you want to rest here?” He glanced about the little cove before shaking his head. It was near his home thankfully so he knew when and where to find her since she often preferred doing her own thing while they weren’t traveling. Honestly he didn’t even know if he could bring her along if they were going to Belrea. Would an airship take a snaptrotter? But she would be super handy when they crossed into Kahikana later...sighing Kaimana ran a hand through his hair thoughtfully. He had gotten so caught up in thinking about the past that he had forgotten he needed to plan for the future.

I guess I can always figure it out tomorrow like usual.
