Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

WC - 771

Her day had consisted of taking her mother to the caravan so that she could shop and look at the goods they brought and then talking to the vendors before making sure her mother got home alright. Afterward Sy returned to the camp so that she could enjoy the company of the travelers. She found that she really loved their stories and songs.

“So, Rhadamanthus tells us you used to travel. Where did you go?” One of the caravaners asked her.

Syqvara smiled then and nodded her head, her thick braid swaying behind her. “I did. I mostly went all around Tale, Sauti, and Jauhar. I think I even went into Oba once or twice.” She smiled at the memories. She could recall an Inn she’d gone to in Sauti that had been up north. It had been close enough to Zena that she had felt the chill from the drop in temperature. In Jauhar she’d felt the moist heat of the jungle and had even come across a few interesting people. In her own homeland she’d found even more people. But it was home that she loved. “I prefer my own home though. It’s nice to know I have a bed waiting for me at the end of the day.” She gave a nod of her head.

“Ah, come on, traveling around ain’t all bad. Even without the bed.” Another said.

That made her laugh. “No of course not. I did love the adventure. I met amazing people while I was out too.”

“Yeah, but no one amazing enough to capture that heart of yours I see!” A woman spoke above the rest, making Sy’s cheeks warm a little while others chuckled.

“There was.. I just wasn’t the one he wanted.” Her gaze dropped to her lap then, not wanting to meet the eyes of those staring at her. “Its alright though. It wasn’t meant to be and I’m alright with that.” She could recall her crush. He’d been a handsome hybrid; shifter and leaf. They had been good friends and she’d learned of his interest in another woman. A woman Syqvara could never hope to compete with. So she hadn’t even tried.

There had also been another she’d liked, though not as much since she didn’t know him that well. He’d been a handsome one as well. He was also outside of her grasp. To her it was simply that she was not meant to have a special someone. It took many things off the table for her. Which saddened her but she said nothing.

“Come now. You don’t really believe that do you?” The woman spoke up finally. “Someone as nice as you will find that special someone. If you can’t then there is no hope for me.” She grinned at Sy.

The summoner shook her head and laughed. “I doubt that.”

“So what has being home been like? You miss traveling yet? We’ve got room for another!”
“Haha! Being home is peaceful. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but I’ll keep that offer in mind if I ever want to leave again.” Sy grinned.

The conversation continued on like that for some time. The back and forth of the group. The laughter. Even some drinks!

She couldn’t help falling silent as she truely sat there and watched the others. Drink in hand and being downed like it was nothing. Her mind followed their questions in secret though. Looking back at the past she recalled everything that brought her to this point. The loss of her brother. An unknown really. Of course she’d told herself that he was gone. There was no way she’d not found him yet. He was likely dead. It was what she’d told her mother. To give the elderly woman closure. Constantly waiting for something that wouldn’t happen was no good for her. For anyone really.

There had also been the loss of friends. Not deaths, she was sure, but she’d lost contact with them. Their paths split somewhere along the way and she never saw them again. It made her wonder how they were doing. If they’d found their special someone. Settled down? Had a family? What joys were they experiencing now?

As she finished the last of her drink she held her cup in front of her and stared into it. The shadowy depths almost taunting her. It was like her life now. Empty. While she had no desire to travel anymore she also had nothing to show for her past adventures. It was as though her life had become stagnant. Sy was mundane. In both looks and in actions it seemed.
