Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

Five years was a long time. It didn’t seem like much. Ejskoia held up her hand and looked at her five fingers. On a number scale five wasn’t all that much. It was the mid way point to ten but it was a tiny fraction when counting to one hundred. So why had it felt so long when one thought of it in terms of time and years?

Her teal colored eyes moved to the side just a bit so that she could see the clouds just beyond her hand. Ejskoia was laying on a boulder with one hand propped behind her head for comfort. The sun was shining and it wasn’t too harsh but there was also a strong breeze going to lessen the heat. In all it was a nice day. Certainly one to enjoy to the fullest if one could.

Her hand lowered to rest on the warm rock beneath her. While she was taking a break her mind seemed to want to contemplate the past and what all she had done. How far she’d come in five years. Why five? Why not more or less? It just seemed a good number. But she could clearly recall the memories of the past five years so it worked out in the long run anyways.

Ejskoia had gone to Zena without her brothers’ permission and caused them both to panic. She was even sure they may have had mini strokes at learning what she done. Even more so when she told them of the icling she’d met there and that he had been nothing but nice to her. Making sure she was warm even though their weather had been unusually warm at that time. Of course she’d gotten in trouble afterward. Ejskoia had been grounded for weeks after that. Not a fun thing when one considered it. Life stuck at home with her brothers while they complained to her about her actions for days on end, laying on the guilt thick to make sure she never did such a thing again. It hadn’t been the best experience.

However, it had passed by pretty quickly and she’d regained her freedom quickly. Not only because her brothers didn’t want her constantly underfoot but because several times of apologizing had gotten her her way. After that she’d taken to learning how to better use the weapon she’d liked. The bow. It required a bit more arm strength than she was used to using for other tasks but she didn’t mind that so much either.

Beyond that and the simple daily living there was nothing so exciting. She’d been a good little sister and stayed close to home. Travelled with her brothers when they travelled and helped out around the house. It was boring after coming back from Zena. It made her want to go off and visit again. Of course she didn’t want to upset either of her doting siblings though, so she’d refrained from doing such a thing right away.

“Koia!” The voice of her older brother called out to get her attention. “Can you fetch the water for us?” He asked the simple question as he wiped at his forehead.

They were foraging and working up a sweat. Unlike her.

“Yeah. I got it.” She responded to his question.

It took her a minute but soon she was moving, her head lifting off her hand so that it could join the other one on the rock and aid in pushing her up. From sitting to standing she made it to her feet and began to dust herself off. There was a bit of sand and dirt stuck to her bottom so she could only imagine what the rest of her back looked like. Not that there was anyone to impress.

She hopped down from the boulder she’d been using as a makeshift bed and walked over to where their supplies were. She’d parked it in the shade to make sure the waterskins didn’t heat up too much. After all, hot water was no fun to drink and did nothing to help cool a person down. After a bit of rummaging she found it and smiled to herself. It was even still cool to the touch.

“Got it!” She called as she turned to head over to her brothers. “Here it is.”

She held it out and her older brother took it before he started to drink from it. She moved her eyes to look at the basket they’d been filling. It looked to be a decent amount. Certainly enough to use for cooking but even some to sell.

“Good day today.” She commented. “Will we be making our way toward Tale or Zena to sell those?” She was curious to know which direction they were headed after.

“Tale I think.” Her older brother said as he finished the last of his drink and held the waterskin out to the other. “You should help out so we’ll have even more. Work up your muscles for that bow of yours as well.”

Ejskoia snorted but gave a smile as she pushed up imaginary sleeves and got to work. Nothing much had changed in the last five years but she was okay with that. She loved her brothers and the life they lived.
