Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

“The last five years?” Cahira blinked as she mused over the question written on the parchment laying before her. Her oldest sister, Kyril, had written to them about her artisan work in Oba once more and had mentioned how quickly it seemed that the last few years had flown past. Cahira was still in shock that it had actually been almost five years since her sister left to live and train in Sulburi under a glass artisan. Had time really gone so quickly? The young hybrid shook her head, her crimson locks bouncing with the movement, and she pushed the letter aside. She would answer it after her morning routine. The past couple of years the older Prentice had gotten into the habit of waking up with the dawn so that she could go running along the shores.

Even now it seemed like a habit to dart through the kitchen on the way outside so that she could reach onto the table and steal one of the fresh pieces of bread that were delivered weekly from the bakery in the nearby village. Her family members seemed to expect her morning routine by now and there was even a small satchel with some fruit and cheese prepared for her to take along on her run. Cahira would run then stop along the cliffs so that she could take a break and enjoy her breakfast from her perch in the cliffs while watching the ocean waves crashing into the beach below.

Thankfully her family’s stone manor was along the shoreline of Matori, the large grayish-blue building with stained glass windows (a recent change due to Kyril’s gifts last autumn) nearly blending in with the rocky cliffs looming behind it. It had taken a lot of work and resources to build the manor but thankfully Cahira’s mother had noble blood and an inheritance to boot! It was pretty discreet in location, not being directly in any of the settlements but close enough to visit within a couple hours walk if not an even shorter ride. Every week or so someone would come from town to deliver goods that her parents ordered, typically on a Quhar or a cart pulled by a Xaraan or some other large beast native to Oba or Matori. It definitely was convenient though Cahira also enjoyed the chance to run errands for her mother. It was a good excuse to exercise after all.

While her mother still ran the dance school in Sulburi, Cahira had often tagged along to visit the capital of Oba and to see her sister at her studio. The past five years had not changed their routine much save for a few rare occasions when things were heated in the world. However, after the battle with the Dretch was over and things seemed peaceful once more their visits to Oba resumed. Cahira enjoyed browsing the markets during their almost every other month visit. At one point she even had taken a few months to just stay with Kyril in Oba. She was growing older after all and it was time for her to figure out her own path.

I do enjoy my fighting practice. She mused to herself as she swung her legs over the edge of the cliffs. She loved Matori and during the last few years had spent plenty of time taking care of her family and running about the country. Now though Cahira pondered if it was time for her to finally branch away. A new land had been opened to the world and she was eager to explore it. So many years of reading and hearing about adventure stories had really inspired the young hybrid. Her oldest brother Koril had even travelled through so many countries during the past five years! She was actually jealous of him but instead of learning about animals she wanted to learn more about swordsmanship and the different styles practiced around the world. The thought made the girl's hand roam down towards the elegant sword hanging from her hip. It was her prized possession that she had received during a trip to Oba about three years ago. Cahira had begged her mother to let her have it and when Shadiya finally obliged Cahira had started carrying it everywhere. It was the best gift she had ever received. She was determined to never let it go.

I just hope that I can take the new few years to explore and become stronger. Cahira nodded at the thought as her gaze studied the ocean below. Could she really do it? The last five years had been peaceful and she had never truly left home before. Even when she was in Oba she had been with Kyril at least. Was she truly ready to explore the world on her own? Maybe her friend would want to explore with her...the thought caused her cheeks to flush before she pushed the thought aside. She would ask later when the time was right.
