Coming Together

Solo Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750

Prompt
The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.

What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?

This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

[768]

The sound of her nails clinking against the stem of her glass echoed across the room. Her brother was somewhere off doing who knows what, leaving Astrasol to ponder what she might do on her own. As a young girl, not quite bloomed in society, she wasn't permitted to wander off without an escort, meaning she was stuck inside with nothing to do. Sure, she could go through her dresses, pair new outfits and jewels to find some sort of statement to make, but she had done that ages ago.

Now she simply was bored. Bored of all the pretty things and the superficial people in her life. She tolerated Belrea simply because she had her brother around, a twin who understood what she went through and could help be her confidant and co-conspirator. But lately, as the world began to grow and expand, opening up to new things, even he felt like he was drifting away from her reach.

That meant she was left along to think about many a boring things, around her future in the world and where she needed to be.

As she moved to lounge outside her dwelling under the canopy drapes, Astrasol let out a rare huff of frustration. She moved to grab her light drink and leaned her head back to think about the past five years. So much had changed in those years, or so she was told. She was still young, just starting to grow into her teenage years and blossom into a woman. So when others spoke of the wars of the past, of the conflict with the Aishans and the Obans, Astrasol just rolled her eyes.

What was the point of fixating on such dark histories when they didn't really matter? Especially in the land of Belrea, where war and distrust of something foreign to the future focus culture. Maybe that was why her father was so excited to come across the sea, and why he stuck around. From what she understood, the Shifters of Tendaji suffered a lot for so long, so being in a land of safety must be refreshing.

Thank goodness her mother was around to bring some order in their life. Had she not, Astrasol couldn't imagine how she'd turn out. Her father's coddling, while refreshing, and his intent to spoil her rotten was both a benefit and a disaster. Her mother's rule of the house, and desire for them to be the best they could be, resulted in her growing up to the woman she wanted to be. Powerful, understanding of what she deserved, and not afraid to use others to get that place.

While she continued to grow older, Astrasol began to suffer when interacting with her mother. The two of them were out of sync, and often would fight. But she loved her mother, and out of anyone she wanted to please Galatius the most. She already had her father's love, but her mother was someone who she had to work to earn affection, and that was something she starved for.

As her thoughts began to go down that dark path, Astrasol quickly slurped up the rest of her drink before setting it aside and standing tall. She had things to do, and lurking was a fools sport. Besides, one benefit of the 'great migration' was that many vendors from across the seas would set up shop in the market, meaning she had a chance to purchase new items. Being a hybrid, she had the opportunity to show off her unique coloring, especially compared to the pale greens of the Geians. Milky white hair, shining shifter eyes, it was all something she was proud of. To find accessories and outfits that complemented it were only natural for the girl to shine brighter.

As she left the compound, she waved off the workers and moved quickly down the path toward the market. Every day she passed more and more foreigners, some who were hybrids and some who were pure breds. It was hard to tell sometimes where they came from, with their coloring. No matter, because so far (in her opinion) none looked as alluring and she and her brother, with their unique coloring and elegant beauty.

She really needed to figure out where her brother went off to, she missed spending her days with her other half, and seeing the other hybrids reminded her how much she wanted to see him again. She was still young, though she loath to admit it, and wanted nothing more than to keep her family close as they slowly established themselves in this community.
