There was once again nothing to do so Ujiri had convinced his twin to come along with him to town. Mostly because he didn’t want to go alone. Not because he was scared but so he’d have someone to talk to. Or annoy, in her case. His hands were up and resting behind his head as he walked beside her, his mouth going as usual since it appeared he never really shut up. ”..So we all laughed at Nokai when he said that. It was pretty funny to hear. Who woulda thought he’d have a crush on my sister.” Ujiri chuckled and shook his head as he looked at Ika. ”Goes without saying but I told him to stay away from ya.”

Nokai had been a sorta kinda friend of Ujiri’s for a while. A regular, run of the mill shifter boy that didn’t seem put off by the fact that they were hybrids. Ujiri lifted his shoulders slightly and turned to face forward again. ”Not like you’re old enough to date anyways.” As they got closer to the main road of town where the market was his hands came away from his head so that his arms were at his sides.

"Oh? I just told him you don't like anyone." Ujiri grinned at her.

When she mentioned that they were the same age he nodded slightly. "Yeah, we are. Buuuut.. You're my adorable sister and no one is good enough." He moved so that he could bump his shoulder into her and laugh.

The subject quickly changed as he gave her a light shove. "So someone mentioned some rumors or something going about." He was trying to have a somewhat normal conversation with his sister. "Though you'd wanna come with me and check it out."

The downside to not wearing a shirt? His sister got skin as she pinched his side and he grunted at her. A frown was tossed her way for it but afterward he just continued to look forward as he walked. "Oh, Nokai would likely die of embarrassment. If you do that I wanna be there." He was back to grinning as he thought about the mental anguish his friend would be in if Ika took his sister on a date. Though Ujiri wasn't sure if the girl swung that way he was sure his twin could likely convince her.

"So apparently there was some new land and indigenous people discovered." He tossed a glance her way to see if that interested her. "I didnt catch everything but I guess they are like.. Fish people. True fish people. Not like the Matorians. These guys live in the water." That detail had gained his attention from the start.

He thought about that for a second. "Ehh.. I don't know that it's more Belrea. I think it's a whole part by itself. Like another Island or something." Ujiri hadn't really paid that much attention to it when it was being told. His attention span was horrible. When Ika looked shocked by what he said he laughed at her, his head falling back as his eyes closed in mirth. Oh, her face had been priceless.

When he calmed down enough he had to bring a hand up to wipe at the corner of his eye. "Oh that was funny. Your face.. Ika.." He chuckled for a bit longer before he settled. "Could you imagine? An actual fish with legs?" He shook his head a bit. "But really, Ika.. the rumor said they lived in the water. So maybe they just have houses and boats all tied together floating around?"

"Yeah, a real rumor." Ujiri nodded his head at her, his antennae and dreads moving with the action. "In. On. Beside. Same thing right?" He lifted his hands in a slight shrug. "I mean Nokai and his family live on the pond. Well.. beside it." But when giving directions to their house it was always 'the house on the pond.'

The question about what the people looked like actually made him lift his shoulders before dropping them quickly. "Not sure. I didn't catch that bit. It could just be some Matori people that moved that way a long time ago. I guess they wouldn't be called Matorian anymore." Now he lifted both hands up so that they linked fingers behind the back of his head as he walked. "I always wondered what it would be like if the Matori had gills. You know a'cause they have those fins?" One hand came away to motion around his own ear so that she'd know what he was talking about.

He turned to look at her as she did the hand flap at her neck and pressed his lips together to avoid snorting with laughter at her. "Maybe ancestor. I don't know how you breed in gills." Unless the weirdo's actually slept with a fish. Of course he had to wonder about the Matori. The did have those ears.

When his twin asked him if he was going to go check it out they were just hitting the edge of town. He lowered his arms to his sides again and thought about it for a second. "Nah. If I go anywhere I want to check out Tale. Eurig is always there so it can't be half bad, right?" While the idea of other lands and people was exciting he didn't really have the wanderer gene in him. Not like their sister Subira did. She'd up and left to that new island with the tree seed thing. "Why? You gonna go check it out?" He studied her more closely now.

He frowned a little. Thought of his twin leaving made a slightly uncomfortable feeling come over him. Ujiri was used to having Ika around. Unlike Subira or Eurig she didn't leave all the time. "Yeah, I guess.." His voice lowered then. Already he was regretting asking her to tag along to hear the rumors. What if she really did want to go off and explore?

Wasn't like he could say anything without being super clingy though. So he stayed quiet and just pointed in the direction of the small crowd that had gathered. "I heard the rumor from the guy over there." Ujiri liked hearing the news but was content to simply hear it. As they got closer to the crowd he slowed his pace a little and watched his sister with some interest.
