Bright Future
Chibale Alkidike-Only Prompt

Solo or RP Format
Counts as 5 RP growth Points
Solo word minimum is 750, RP post minimum is 7

Prompt
For years, the children of Aisha suffered with a shadow of failure. Their once-sisters turned extremist fled after stealing a sacred seed from their mother tree. It was a betrayal that shamed them, even moreso when they learned that the seed had been planted, cultivated, and bloomed a new race of Aishans.

The idea never had occurred to extend the reach of Aisha, the potential of extending her embrace unbelievable until now. As the Elaria tribe grew in the south, the Alkidikes sought guidance from their matrons and mystics, praying for another seed that they could use to their advantage. It didn't take long until Aisha answered their prayers.

Sending their strongest and swiftest to protect the seed, the Alkidike sisterhood set their eyes toward Belrea. They knew of an island near the north, uninhabited and ideal to plant a seed and test their luck. And so, they sowed their future, and a new tree began to grow.

Use this prompt to discuss your character's hopes around this seed, this tree. Maybe they are on Chibale, waiting for news. Or maybe your character joined her sisters as a protector of this growing tree. Do you expect a similar result like the Extremists...or do you expect more?

It had been a long time since she’d been to her homeland. To Chibale. The home of the Alkidikes. Home of Aisha. Her arrival there had been more emotional than she’d thought possible. After all, she’d left it’s shores when she was a teen. She’d fallen for an earthling. Spent time with him. Her return back then had been for babies. When she’d come back again she’d gone to Aisha and made her plea again, only this time her desire fell on deaf ears. Her mother tree did not bless her with another child. No bloom was given. It had brought her sadness but at the same time she was relieved. Dem both wanted but didn’t want another child.

She did in the sense that she loved being a mother. Wanted to watch another grow up as she had with her first. Or.. one of them.

She didn’t because she missed Virain. She didn’t because things were happening in the world. Strange things. New things.

For instance, it had been discovered that the extremists had cultivated the seed of Aisha into a new tree. A new race had been born from it’s branches. Those they called the Elaria. Grey and pink skin. Green eyes. They were a strange sight but nothing so different than a hybrid. And V’demhe had seen her fair share of those. She had borne two of them into the world with her mate. So to speak.

Because of this success with the seed from their great mother more sisters had decided that it should be replicated. Dem wasn’t sure. She didn’t agree or disagree with the idea. She was firmly on the fence. While she thought of extending Aisha’s reach was thrilling she did not think that they should be like the sisters before them and hurt people to do it. Of course it seemed they had found an island that was without others and would be ideal for what they had in mind. Another Chibale. Made for their tree and her daughters.

As Dem sat under the tree, staring at her small campfire on the mainland, she couldn’t help but wonder how their adventure would turn out. Would the seed take? Would it fail? Should she have gone? Would she have gone? As an Amazon she was a proud warrior, one of the elite. She should have been among those to protect the new tree.

The idea caused her to lean her head back, dreads rubbing over the bark of the tree behind her, beads making scratching sounds. A deep breath in and she tried to clear her mind. It was racing, a thousand thoughts a minute, too fast to grab at one and keep it. Her pure black eyes closed as she tried to block out the noise inside her head.

To top it all off there had been word that another continent had been located. This news was late in reaching them since it came from down south. So she had to wonder about if more information had been found out. What was it like? Temperate? Tropical? Icy? Was it wet? Dry? What were the natives like? More and more questions spawned and joined the swirling vortex within her mind.

Dem opened her eyes and brought her head up so that she could look at the fire again, this time shifting so that her legs were put in a more comfortable position. Everything that had happened in the last few years had her wondering about what she was doing. Why had she left her daughter alone in Oba? Dem had told herself it was to travel and find her mate but somewhere along the way she’d stopped looking. Afraid of what she would find. That maybe he had found someone else. Or worse. She wasn’t ready to face that.

So she’d been going from place to place under the guise of searching but she was really just avoiding. V’demhe had also managed to adopt a few strays along the way. Both kids and beasts. It gave her a sense of purpose so that she didn’t feel so lost.

Her mind finally settled down, clinging to only a few thoughts. She couldn’t run forever. She needed to return home. Dem needed to go back to her daughter. Make sure her little girly girl was alright. It wouldn’t do that have something happen to her. Virain would likely never forgive her.

With that thought in mind she let out a long breath. When morning came she would head back south. She had a daughter to see and some rumors to investigate.
