 Retaliation walked alongside the mountainside as he scaled it pretty well. Mothwing had done a great job teaching him all the ropes of being a beserker and living in the Bluestone. He missed his father, in the forest but knew he was probably doing well by himself. He would have to make a note to make a trip down there to see him soon. He was hoping that he would have eventually run into his mother, but that did not seem to happen in the mountains.
Maybe he would need to start to just worry about his own life, possibly meet someone, somewhat nice, and potentially start a family. He laughed at the idea, he had not met anyone other than Mothwing and it seemed like no one else seemed to frequent this side of the mountain, besides the few bigger prey that came across him and Mothwing.
Venturing up towards the peak, he was hoping to search around for anything in the area while Mothwing was down the way. They seemed to have formed a bond, well as best as a bond two beserkers male could get, but he was grateful to be taken under his wing.
Looking around, he started to sniff around, looking for anything that happened to go past this area. Maybe he could take something down on his own.

Nightshade Blade was hiding away from the sunlight, waiting for the sun to set, it was nearly dark out which was a relief to her since did not care for the sun at all. She preferred the cool and quiet of the night time. She was hiding away out of the sun in a small cave, doing her best to stay out of the last dying rays of light. She looked out of the cave looking at the view of the mountains. She did not care for any one place over another, she had no family to speak of and no place she called home.

As Ret started forward into the mountainside to search for the food, the sun had turned dark with the sun setting. Ret did not prefer the night over the day, but it did make hunting a bit easier since his coat was black as he could get. The white spots on him looked like a fresh snowfall, making it advantages to lay down to ambush prey eating through the night.
As his eyes scanned, he realized he was in a different area of the mountains, one where the ridges hid little caves and that's where the scent of another wolf filled his nostrils. He had yet to come across this wolf's scent but could tell it was different than him.
Unknowning if this wolf was friendly or not, he started to search up and down the mountains to see if another wolf could be seen, but with no luck he started to think he or she was hiding in the caves. Stalking forward he peered into a cave, hoping to see eyes peering back at him, but empty.
Where are you?
As he rounded the corner after searching two more, the scent hit him and he knew this was the one. With a bit of a barred grin, showing some teeth in case this wolf was a foe, he broke through the opening, looking into the deep cave.
"There you are"
Looking down, he noticed two eyes staring back at him, and as his eyes shifted he noticed something he had not met before, a female. And not just any female wolf, a beautiful black one that instantly made Ret's upper lip cover his teeth. He was flabbergasted at the moment and took a quick step back to allow an opening out of the cave.
"Apologies...."
He tilted his head in a bowing fashion, before steading his gaze back on her.

Nightshade had not been expecting someone to track her down, let alone a large Berserker wolf. "I did not know I was something to be found and what are you apologizing for?" She cocked her eyebrow she didn't think Berserkers apologized were they not warriors? Perhaps this one was not since they wore no war paint that she could see. "I am here now you have found me what is it you want or did you just desire to apologize for no reason and then leave?" Her tone was a bit sharp as she was not the softest most graceful wolf in words.

Ret's stance went from slightly welcoming to a bit off-putting of this female. He was not sure to snap back at her or compliment her on her attitude towards a bigger male. He felt like his family life was flashing through his memories. This female slightly reminded him of his mom, at least, from what he could remember of her, and his dad, even though he was a tough wolf, was always one to shy away from mom's harsh words. Ret was not sure if he should be like his dad or push back to see what this female was made of. With an internal chuckle, he let a toothy grin spread across his muzzle.
"Well for someone so pretty, you sure are losing points for the attitude of yours."
He chuckled out loud, letting his eyes pierce towards her. He was not sure he liked this version of himself since he was always known to be courtesy to others. Yet Mothwing was teaching him to be a beserker and not to take anything from any other wolf that decided to step across their paths.
"I'm just apologizing since I figured another wolf was stalking, but it seems like that was not the case."
Mothwing and Ret had found a pretty good hunting area in these parts and they always seemed to be chasing others away, but usually, they were ones that came out in the open challenging. She seemed to just be resting in a nearby cave and he had bothered her.
"What brings you to the snowy peak..?"
Even though they started off on the wrong paw, Ret was quite taken aback by this blackened female. Whether it just be that she was a beautiful and forward wolf or just his first experience with a female, he did not know?

Nightshade Blade frowned at this large and strange wolf she would not be spending a lot of time with him, but even she could use some company once in a while, not that she would admit it. "I didn't know I was on a point system with you considering we just met." She said sharply. She cocked her eyebrow "That is a strange thing to apologize for considering the situation and you being so much bigger than me, why would you apologize for anything?" She looked out at the snowy hills and she said "I like to be lone that is what I am doing up here and what are you doing here?"

Retaliation was a bit taken back of the snarkiness of this female. He would have loved to see his mother tear her a new one, at least, that is what he thought she would be like. "Well, obviously you don't know sarcasm."
Is this how all females are?
He was about to just leave the female, she was not worth his time at the moment, but something about her just enticed him to stay and chat. Maybe it was his mommy issues? Maybe he wanted someone else to talk to other than Mothwing?
"I'm here hunting... with another beserker. I just happened to catch your scent." Lucky for her, Mothwing was not the one that found her. Looking around, he noticed that the sun was set and that darkness has swept across his vision.
Without saying anything, he back out of the makeshift cave, never letting her leave his vision before getting out to the open. The night air felt great on his fur and the cold of the snow-covered peak just made him feel right. This was way better than the forest he grew up in.
He missed his father and brother, but he enjoyed his time with Mothwing. Being within earshot of the dire female. "Well.. dire.." Not knowing her name, he cut the last part out. "You like being alone? No family or anything?"

Nightshade rolled her eyes the Berserker was an amusing one in his own way. "Why would I know sarcasm?" She said cocking her eyebrow in a sarcastic way. Nightshade shrugged her shoulders. "I have been alone most of my life, it is my way of life, perhaps someday I will decide to change that perhaps I will not, I will accept company sometimes." She said, "I wouldn't mind your company a while longer unless it will keep you from your hunting trip."

Ret cocked a grin as he noticed the hint of sarcasm in her answer. With a chuckle, as he listened to her speak. He was currently enjoying his time with her and was looking forward to spending a bit more time having this back and forth conversation. "No, I have time to waste. My mentor is out hunting as well and usually is pretty successful."
Deciding he should make the first step in making an acquaintance, he let his guard down he looked towards the darker female, which he was noticing now has a little bit of blue tint to her, with beautiful stripes. "My name is Retaliation, but I go by Ret." Letting his body move back to the outside, he took in the sights of the night on the mountain. He did not regret searching out for answers in the mountains, as it was nice to be up here in the cold. Being a beserker has its' advantages where the prey appeared to be a bit bigger in the north, plus at night, his coat made him deadlier.

Nightshade smiled at the large berserker and nodded "Nice to meet you as well Ret, I am Nightshade Blade, but you may call me Nightshade if you like." She figured a little time spent with the berserker would be nice and then they would be able to part ways and she would think nothing of it. Nightshade kept to herself, she didn't feel she needed anyone else. She certainly didn't need a berserker in her life. She could use the company for a time and then she would go on her way. She didn't really expect to see Ret again after this meeting. (506)

Ret smiled as the female wolf stated her name. It was a strong name that kind of reminded him of his mother. He knew this passing would be brief with this female wolf, but he would make sure to have his fun before moving on to the next. He wanted a wolf to settle down with but with Ret being with his mentor, for the time being, family life could not be possible.
One day, Ret would have pups and he would ensure to be the perfect father like his own father was. He smiled at the female and made small talk as the night progressed on.
