Prompt The past five years have continued to meld and mesh the lands of Tendaji. Where once tribes kept to their own lands, many were now seeing their colorful neighbors on a regular basis. While the cultures still stand, a welcoming sense of curiosity and openness has resulted in a peace across the entire region.
What have you done these past five years? Have you explored? Have you welcomed others? What has your story been and how have you grown in this new future of Tendaji?
This solo-only prompt is for you to explore the growth of your character these past 5 years in relation to the cultures of Tendaji. You must walk us through how your character's impression of the other races has changed or evolved, and how they've grown as a result.

He had decided to go to the pond today. Mostly because there was nothing else to do. He was getting bored with things a lot quicker lately and he wasn’t sure why. After stripping down to his underclothes, which was more or less a pair of tight shorts he wore under his pants, he went into the water. A deep breath in and he went under, swimming toward the middle of the pond with no issues about the murky water.
He reached the center and then changed his course so that he could come up for air. Once he broke the surface he let his breath out in a huff. Hands came up out of the water and smoothed back his dreads and antennae. It was easier to just push them all back so that he could keep the water from rolling down into his face. As he tread water to keep afloat he thought about things. When he was alone like this his mind wandered and sometimes not for the better.
He looked around at everything around him then leaned back, letting the natural buoyancy of his body keep him above the surface. He stared up at the trees and sky beyond them. Ujiri was struck with the truth that he hardly got to see his siblings anymore. His older sister, Subira, had gone off on some journey or another with a seed of some kind to grow a tree. At first he hadn’t understood it but knowing that it was a seed of Aisha and that the new tree would likely be able to bloom a new race made it easier. His sister was doing something important. Something that would change the world. His brother, Eurig, was still going off every so often to visit his dad. Which made things quiet for the most part. He didn’t like it when his brother went away. Ujiri sighed at the thought. He missed his siblings.
Sure he had Ika, but in truth they were growing apart as they got older. He was still into the pranks and getting into trouble, like a little kid, but he could see that his twin was maturing more than he was. It made him seriously wonder about things. Would she leave too? If so would he be allowed to tag along? Or would he have to find his own direction to go?
The hybrid boy closed his eyes as the thoughts swirled along in his brain. Floating on the water’s surface was relaxing enough that he toyed with the idea of falling asleep there. Of course he knew it was a bad idea. So he directed his thoughts elsewhere. He’d recently found out the path he wanted to follow in life. Much to his own surprise it wasn’t an amazon or any other Alkidike path. He had been so sure when he was younger that he was going to head that direction, be like his mother and older sister, but lately it didn’t call to him. Would his twin choose an Alk path? With Subira going that way she was always on the Isle and out of reach. Doing her training and such. Did that mean Ika would be the same?
His eyes opened slowly, squinting up at the light as it filtered through. Ujiri literally felt anxiety at not having his twin around to mess with. They had been born at the same time and grew up getting into trouble together. Having her leave would likely cause him to feel lost.
“I’m such a wimp.” He said aloud to himself. If he couldn’t handle his twin going off on her own and having a life then he was weak, surely. “Maybe I should ask her what she’s gonna do first..” Knowing what to expect would help out. Afterall, it could just be his overthinking that was telling him that his twin would leave. For all he knew she might follow an earthling path like he was and stay around. It would be fun if they did the same thing. He doubted it would happen of course. The two had different interests.
He spread his arms out to either side of him and took a deep breath, the cool waters rippling out from his movements. The past couple of years had been interesting though. He almost wished he could do them all over again. There were a few things he might do differently. Of course he’d probably spend more time with Subira and Eurig since they were gone all the time but that was a given. He closed his eyes and took another deep breath before he folded his body and let it sink below the surface so that he could continue his swim.
