Hi all of the like... 3 people who will read this. My name is Tom, and I once loved this place.
As of writing I am 26, a History Graduate and unemployed due to Corona. I watched a video about the rise and fall of Gaia Online and memories that had long laid buried came back to the fore.
There are a select few people who I am actually still in contact with, but for the most part I've fallen out of touch. I miss all of you, fwiw.
I also think I owe a lot of people an apology. You had the dubious pleasure of knowing me during one of the assorted low points of my life, where it turns out I was dealing with wildly unmediated depression and severe self esteem issues. Not that it excuses the a*****e I was, but I am sorry.
Since the guild, and to a wider extent Gaia itself, fell apart, I got into a relationship, went to university, got dumped, dropped out of uni, started at a different uni and graduated from there, went through like 3 different heartbreaks, trained to be a teacher, stopped doing that because holy s**t teaching is the ********' worst in this country, and now I'm here making a post.
