Now that the threat of the dretch had ended, the Elarian colony on Yeal was finding balance again. Not that everything was perfect, but it was enough to have some sense of normalcy return to the island. For Pruu, this including working to keep the relationship she had with her twin, Pyrrha, and building the relationship she was creating with her girlfriend, Akeldama. Up to recently, she had been treating them as two completely separate entities. Now though, she was finding herself thinking much more seriously about her girlfriend possibly becoming more.

If Akel were to join the family, Pruu had to make sure of one important factor. Pyrrha could be a bit of a trial, but Pruu loved her twin with all her heart. If her sister and the Elarian she cared for couldn't get along with each other... She wouldn't let such a thought deter her from her task though! While she understood Pyrrha living well away from Zinris, it certainly didn't make getting together very convenient. As it was, it would provide them the breathing room away from prying and judgmental eyes for a more comfortable meeting.

Finally finding a small clearing next to a murky little pond, she sighed and rolled her shoulders to let herself relax. The clearing was bright by Yeal forest standards, sunlight leaking through a thin layer of fog hugging the canopy high above. It was cozy, and she had used it more than once for everything from training to meditating. She took a moment to scan the area for any sign of her twin before looking back toward the path she had come from. "Are you still there, Akel?" she challenged playfully.

While Pruu rolled her shoulders, Akel moved her head off to one side to pop her neck. A few small sounds signaled that it worked. As she moved it to the other side she heard the challenge in her girlfriend's voice. Another couple pops came from her neck and she rolled her eyes. "Nope, not at all." As she came into the clearing it would be obvious she was joking, not just because she was in fact there but because of the smile she wore.

Akel had her spear with her, although it was being held lazily. The handle of it fit naturally in her hand, black stained fingers easily keeping hold of it's weight. "Were you planning on swimming in that?" She gave a nod toward the murky pond with her chin before she gave her complete attention to Pruu.

Pyrrha had become accustomed to living in the forests long before any Dretch invasion. It was only because those monsters had descended upon the land that she’d moved in closer to Zinris, but once the threat had been dispatched the elarian returned to nature. The elders cared little for her interesting way of life, and without a family home to call her own Pyrrha had decided it was best to live her own way.

She walked the land like one of it’s beasts. Pyrrha knew which caves would lead to a plentiful underground river, and which would trap her. It had been hard at first; getting by without her friends, her family...her twin...It had been unbearable. Now, however...Pyrrha held her head high.

Her hut was a fair distance away from where she was, nestled on the shoreline, but Pyrrha rarely spent time there. She preferred to be covered hip deep in mud, digging for keldari eggs and other strange creatures. Her preferred hunting grounds were in the vast expanse of jungle that separates her from Zinris; a spot that allowed her to overhear movement. At first she thought it may have been a limbari or two, but after searching it out, Pyrrha found something far more interesting. In the midst of the forest was her dear Pruu and...what was her name? Their camp wasn’t so large that names should escape her like this, and yet, Pyrrha couldn’t put her finger on it. Aniya? Akili?

“I wouldn’t recommend it,” She chimed, slipped out from behind a copse of thick brush. Mud caked her legs to the knees with more splattered across her body and several twigs were stuck in Pyrrha’s dreads. “Lio Lio lives there and he can swallow a sister whole.”

Pruu smiled back and shook her head. "Clearly." She looked over as the water was pointed out, cocking her head in debate of a reply. She had run through the shallows before, but that had not been the plan today. Maybe they could fit in a little training later, though?

Someone else responded first, though, and Pruu looked to her twin with a snort. Well, Pyrrha was looking very.... Pyrrha-esque. "Considering your state, one might think I should be more concerned of you than any water beast," she teased, striding over to give a tug to one of Pyrrha's tangled dreads. Despite her banter, she felt herself swept with relief every time she came out to find her sister alive and well. Being unable to watch over her was stressful! "Pyrrha, have you had the chance to know Akeldama?" She turned back to her girlfriend and held out her hand encouragingly to beckon her forward.

She kept her eyes on Pruu as she moved farther into the clearing, letting her eyes adjust to the slightly brighter light there. When she saw her sarcasm had been noted she couldn't help but grin. Then there was the voice of another that came out. It had her green eyes going toward the sister that came out from behind the brush.

Akel took it all in. The caked on mud, the dirty state, and the tangled dreads. While she wasnt the girliest of girls Akeldama was still well kept and clean. A brow rose slightly as it seemed Pruu was aware if who the other Elaria was. Then th name slipped out and a slight bit of realization hit her. Akel might not know Pyrrha personally but she knew of her. Also knew it was her girlfriend's twin sister. When beckoned closer she did so, her spear moving so that it was held up and resting over one shoulder, pointy end sticking up rather than forward so no one got poked.

"I am a mess, aren't I?" Pyrrha smiled lazily, raising her hand to look over the muck, and yet made no move to clean herself. What use was there when she had every intention of going back to the swamps once all of this was over, anyway? "Mud helps with sweating; you should try covering yourself in it next time you train, Pruu."

Ahh, yes, that was her name. "Hello there, Akeldama. I think I may have seen you a time or two, but we've never really spoken." Pyrrha took stock of the other Elarian's spear and pursed her lips, "What brings you here, Pruu? Has Ko become so paranoid of me that she's sent an escort with you?"

"I'll keep that in mind." While she had no intention of covering herself in mud to train, she did know the basic idea was true. After all, mud often happened with her training in the wild. She just usually cleaned herself off fairly quickly as well.

Sparing another smile for Akeldama, Pruu found herself holding back a wince as she looked back to Pyrrha. "While I'm sure mother would prefer it, that is not why Akeldama is here." She felt that rare nervous flutter in her belly as she looked between the women with her. She shouldn't beat around the bush. Even having this meeting so delayed wasn't quite her style, but extenuating circumstances had held it back. "As it is, much has happened over the years, and I felt it was time to.. to bring the two most important sisters in my life together to make sure you have met properly." Stepping back to her girlfriend's side, she took Akel's hand in an intimate gesture. "Akeldama, this is Pyrrha. Pyrrha, this is Akeldama."

She listened to the exchange and had to give a slight smile to the idea of Pruu covered in mud. Akel found it amusing. When Pyrrha spoke to her she nodded her head. "Hello. I'm sure we've never officially met." It had never occurred to her to try and get to know her girlfriend's family without Pruu instigating the meetings. So she'd never attempted to speak to the twin, even when she still lived within Zinris.

The mention of an escort had Akel raising both brows before she looked at Pruu. It seemed that her girlfriend denied that she was there as a guard but didn't actually give the reason. That caused her to furrow her brow a little with a bit of confusion. It wasn't normal for Pruu to be so vague about things.

The blunt end of her spear was set on the ground and she leaned some weight onto the weapon as she stood there. She continued to watch and when her hand was taken she looked down at it then up at her girlfriend's face. Was she nervous about introducing her to her sister? A slight tilt of her head happened before a half smirk formed - Oh that was cute. Looking toward Pyrrha again she kept her stance relaxed as she leaned against her spear. "Pyrrha. You can call me Akel if it's less of a mouthful.."

Ah, so Ko does still hate me. It wasn’t as if Pyrrha expected any less, but one tends to think that at some point one's own mother would worry for their child. Nivalis had been the one to teach her that. At one point she’d worried about leaving Pruu behind, but it looked like her twin was holding her own in their ranks and had apparently carved enough of a nitch out that she could stay true to herself.

The two most- Pyrrha’s eyes widened when she saw the gesture, and her smile returned. “Pruu, you should have told me sooner. I hope I’m not such an embarrassment that you needed to hide her away.” Even if that were the case Pyrrha didn’t let it affect the situation. This was the first girlfriend her twin had ever brought to her, and the naturalist couldn’t be happier.

She held her hand out to the other elarian, thought better of it, wiped it off on a cleaner patch of skin on her torso and held it back out. “Akel it is. Would you like to come back to my home? We can swap stories there; you’ll want to hear them, they’re all about Pruu.” Pyrrha made a vague motion back the way she came, “It’s on the shore. I find it easier to talk to the fish that way.”

Watching for reactions, Pruu felt the faintest bit of heat daring to tickle her cheeks. Akel's smirk made it clear that she could see Pruu's tension, and Pyrrha just seemed.. happy. Her brow rose with surprise though and she shook her head. "if you were that embarrassing, I'd be keeping her away," she scolded lightly. "I just.. wanted to be sure first," she looked over to Akel with a light smile, "and.. I'm sure."

Of course, the offer to tell stories of her earned Pyrrha a glare. "Honestly, you say that as though there is something crazy to tell," she huffed with a hint of humor. She had been model student growing up! Surely there were no 'stories' of that much interest! Ah, fish. Talking to fish. It begins~

Still, she looked to Akel and gave her hand a squeeze. "I did not think to ask how long you were free for today. Would you like to stay for a bit, or do you need to head back soon?" Such a silly oversight.. though, having no idea how this would go had kept her from planning anything too solidly in the first place.

Her hand left her spear, unwilling to let go of Pruu's hand at the moment, and she shook the offered hand after it was wiped off. The mud actually didn't bother her as much as she thought. After all, she could just wash it off, right? Besides, she was the one that had black stains on her fingers from working with poisonous plants all the time. It stood out against her light pink hands. "Oh, I doubt it was you she was embarrassed of." Akel had to take the chance to poke fun at Pruu. She looked to the side at her girlfriend and smiled again.

When Pyrrha mentioned talking to fish she lifted a brow with mild curiosity. "Can't say I've ever had a fish speak to me. I have spoken to them though. Mostly to tell them they are going to be eaten or that they are delicious." When Pruu mentioned not asking how much time she had to be free for the day she gave a thoughtful expression. A tilt of her head and a small snort and she lifted her shoulder slightly. "Only thing I have to do is training but.. I can make an exception to spend time with a beautiful girl.. oh, and my girlfriend." Akeldama grinned at Pruu then, giving her hand a light squeeze before she brought it up so she could place a kiss to the back of it.

[4/10]

This was honestly a side of Pruu that Pyrrha had never seen before and it was cute. Her twin would hate it if she called it out, but it was what it was. She'd found a partner to stay by her side and the way that Akel didn't hesitate to take Pyrrha's hand let her know what a good choice she'd made.

"I may be different, but we came from Elzira together or have you forgotten?" Pyrrha half-turned her body, lifting her legs with a little more effort to free them from the mud. She couldn't keep the teasing tone from her voice; the all around good vibes were getting to her. Everyone knew that when moss grew straight up instead of out that it would be a good day, and Pyrrha was never one to deny a sign!

"I'm sure they appreciated the warning! We so rarely ask them what it is they want in life." How thoughtful! It was so refreshing to find another sister who understood that nature needed a little more interaction from time to time to get the most out of her.

Even though she couldn't see the two behind her, Pyrrha heard the comment and clapped her hands with a surprised 'oh!'. "Akel! I think you and I are going to be good friends." By the time she looked back to smile they were already sharing an intimidate moment....so, she promptly started to walk backwards through the swamp, keenly watching them. "I'm so glad to see that you're affectionate with each other. It's important, you know; to show each other that you love them. It's so sweet. Pruu used to hold my hand like that at night when she was too scared to go outside by herself, but she's much closer with you."

Looking between her companions, Pruu began to wonder if this had been a mistake. They were both having too much fun poking at her! She was already outside of her comfort zone, and now this.. She nudged Akel with a light elbow and shook her head ruefully. "I am beginning to think there is enough embarrassment to go around here," she mused with a snort.

"I have not forgotten our beloved Elzira's sense of humor." She adored her sister, but honestly, could Elzira have given them more opposing personalities?!

She couldn't help watching Akeldama with a bit of surprise. Considering that most of their time together was training centered, being the good little Elarians that they were, seeing her being so playful was adorably unexpected. She was about to give a snarky reply, but the light kiss to her hand made her expression go soft and warm. It really was sweet. She leaned over to brush her nose along Akel's cheek in response.

Her head quickly snapped forward again though. "I never!" she insisted, lifting her chin. "Perhaps it was a healthy respect for the fact that we were not very experienced yet in our youth, but I certainly was not afraid of the night."

A chuckle left her when Pruu made the comment about there being plenty embarrassment to go around. Her other hand still free, as her spear was leaning against her shoulder, she pointed toward her girlfriend. "See. I think she was more embarrassed by how she acts around me. She's quite adorable." The cheek nuzzling had proven it!

As Pruu then stated she had not been afraid of the dark, Akel grabbed hold of her spear again so that it didn't fall as she moved a little. A slight tug on her girlfriend's hand to yank her closer. "Awe, want me to hold your hand at night? I'm sure I can sneak you into my room." Akeldama grinned at her, her tone clearly evident of the teasing she was giving.

Looking toward Pyrrha she kept her smile. "I would love to hear stories about Pruu." Before her girlfriend could argue or nay say she moved forward, taking both weapon and Pruu with her. Unless of course the other Elarian pulled away from her.

"But you did!" Pyrrha clapped her hands with a laugh. "I was sound asleep and I remember you waking me up so you wouldn't be alone. " She may have been eccentric, but she wasn't a liar. "We were both very different people as little girls, though, so it's to be expected that you weren't the perfect little warrior."

Goddess knew that Pyrrha hadn't turned out the way she was supposed to! She'd had 'promise' as a child; a 'gift'! Her mothers had even been proud at one point and then her true personality came out.

Soon enough the dense vegetation started to give way to a sparser array of trees and eventually, the ocean itself. And there, just a ways away, was a little campsite settled around a thatched hut.

"Make yourselves at home; I can make some tea." While the hut itself may have been too small to fit all of them comfortably there was plenty of seating around a small fire pit. The 'property' itself was decorated in a strange assortment of items picked up throughout the forest; an earthlings boot, for example, held up by a string with flowers inside and a large pot with a gnarly looking toad inside.
