Lavender had heard a lot about Xi-Wang. Rhona talked of him often. She had spoken about going to his new apartment, and Lavender had quietly decided that it was time to finally go and meet this friend of hers. Picking up a dozen donuts and a very soft stuffed animal which seemed as though it was a squirrel…or maybe a chipmunk, the woman made her way to the address she had taken from Rhona’s phone.
When she got there, she hesitated, wondering if this was such a good idea. If someone came to her house with a gift and donuts…she would feel rather awkward but…
Lavender shrugged and rang the doorbell, pursing her lips and gazing around. This was a beautiful building, and she assumed that the apartment itself would be…fantastic. Honestly she wished that her and Rhona could afford such a place but…
The small house that they had was good enough, it was home. And…there was always something special about home but…
But they could work on having a family if they got a larger home…
She shook her head and pressed the doorbell again, shifting her weight to her other foot.
…If Xi-Wang wasn’t home…well. This would just end up being awkward.

Lucky for Lavender he was home, he was often home. When he wasn't at work or in a class he was more often than not home. Home was a place that was starting to feel comfy and safe. With his laptop on the kitchen counter, Baozi sitting on the counter eating from her bowl of food, Xi-Wang got up as he heard a knocking on the door. He had, till now, been signing up for a few food boxes that came monthly. They all looked so good! Plus there would be new food ideas, to keep things interesting.
Stretching as he shuffled his way through the large, and almost too spacious, apartment Xi-Wang disarmed the alarm and unlocked the door before opening it. "I can help you?" Dark eyes staring at female. He didn't know her, had never seen her, but there was a plushie in her arms and his eyes did move right to it. Not wanting to be rude, or seem too childish, he managed, though just barely, to not grab for it.

Lavender smiled and shook her head. “Xi-Wang? I’m Lavender…Rhona’s fiancé…she told me that you got a new home…and I figured that if I waited for there to be a time that we could all hang out…we might all be older than the hills…I wanted to meet you.”
She held out the gifts and grinned. “I’m really excited to meet you…you should come over some time to visit Rhona and me. We’d love to have you. And, I hope the stuffed animal is okay…Rhona said that you liked them a lot and I couldn’t resist.”
It wasn’t too strange…right? She didn’t think so but…she didn’t want to come off too strongly. “…I hope I’m not imposing…if it’s a bad time, I can leave and come back later…or you can just come to our place…?”

"Yeah, that's me. Rhona's told me a lot about you as well." He said, his voice raising with excitment. He'd been wanting to meet the person who made Rhona so happy. "We might be...or we might all be too busy fighting for our lives." again. Mirrorscpae and mirrorverse did seem to like trying to kill it's senshi, something he'd never figure out. Why make them...why give them power and a home...and then try and kill them? But it was what it was - it was life for them.
"I moved in with a friend of mine...someone not part of the family." Hoping she understood what he meant. He had to be careful around Caleb, like the last time they'd lived together, but this time it felt like more was at risk. He couldn't mess up a friendship as well - especially now. He couldn't leave someone with nothing....it would ruin him emotionally if he did that to someone else.
"I've been over...just when you've not been home. We should all cook together sometime - here or there." Nodding his head he moved aside to let her into the apartment finally. "And I love it - she's right. I collect plushies." He had a lot of them about the house, though most were in his own room. "No-no, this is a fine time! You're not imposing at all. I was doing some shipping online...I found some monthly subscription boxes." His dark eyes going side as he started talking, it was easy to feel the energy coming off him over how excited he was at the idea of monthly subscription boxes. "They have food ones even. Some with just spices...some for teas and other sorts of food boxes." And he'd gone and signed up for a load of them - no guilt felt.
"I can make some tea, or coffee, if you like and we can talk. I'm always happy to talk to other family members."

Lavender laughed softly. “Yeah…I know that’s for sure. I know the last big um…meeting was…well. It was. It just was.” That was all she really wanted to say about that…but. It was a long time ago too so…water under the bridge. “You’re…living with someone who isn’t part of the family? Yikes…that…that must be hard.”
She nodded, entering and looking around the apartment with a hunger in her eyes. Yes…this was a place that she would utterly love to live…somewhere big and bright and…modern…
Oh if only Rhona wanted the same things but…she could deal. Maybe she could just…stay over here sometimes.
Get her fill of the other side of life.
“I’m glad that I finally get to meet you, seriously. And yeah, a cooking party would be great…it might be good to do it here because of the space but…I can see why you’d rather not due to the outsider but…I mean…”
Lavender paused and then snorted softly. “I know I can be discreet, I’m not sure about Rho…she is just so passionate about…family things…”
There was a fond smile on her face, but it was tinged with quite a bit of exasperation.

"It is hard...especially since it's my ex. Things ended because of the secrets." Not something he liked to admit but it was true. It wasn't his fault, not entirely, but it was a part of the job. There had been other reasons things had failed though, not just secrets. "He....he lost his boyfriend recently and had no where to go...he was living in a hotel. I offered to get a place with him. I can't leave someone like he was." He was a shell of a person when he'd seen him in the hotel, and even at the mall that time. Caleb was doing better now - a lot better. "He's doing better now..." And he was happy about that.
"Yes, Rhona can be passionate but I trust her. I think we could do it here. We have the space and more than enough pots and pans...woks and more." Rice cooker, blender, wok, waffle iron and all sort of other things. He and Caleb had stocked up on items needed for all sorts of foods - to fit everyone's taste. "I'm dating someone else in our family though...I want to move him in soon." And hope it all went well. This place would, he hoped, be a family home for himself and others.
"Rhona I think....needs us, all of us, as much as we need her. She's helped me and at least one other I know of. She's given us what we need to get our feet under us. She helped me so much..." Smiling fondly as he spoke of Rhona, a hand reaching out to the female. "Come on, lets get something to drink and grab some seats to talk."

Lavender frowned slightly and nodded, her expression darkening just a little. “Secrets are rough. Rhona and I almost didn’t survive because of secrets. And lies. A lot of lies…she was so invested in the family but…didn’t seem to care about…you know…reality. I’m sorry to hear about that, that sounds awful for him, I’m glad that he’s doing better now…”
She looked around the apartment and nodded eagerly. “I can see how this would be a fantastic place to host a dinner party…I’d love that. I…I won’t lie. I wish that I could have a place like this…but Rho likes her small house and…” Lavender gave a sad little smile. “…Secrets again but, I don’t want to hurt her feelings by saying I like things bigger…I’ll just deal with it. But if we ever have a family….”
Her cheeks were tinged just slightly pink and she shrugged. “We’d have to get some place bigger. But, I know she’s amazing, and I know she loves the family more than anything. It was just hard, because I know she puts the…all before the us…you know?”
She followed Xi to the couch and flopped onto it, relaxing into the soft cushions. “What do you want to talk about?”

"I'm trying...even if we failed I want to still help him. Maybe, in part, because I feel like if we'd made it this wouldn't be for him? Maybe it was something of an apology or trying to make things right? He wasn't sure but he knew he cared and didn't want to see Caleb hurting or looking like he had been.
"I think small houses are nice. But with me and Caleb plus Gabriel and, hopefully, having my sister visit...a bigger place was needed. It gives space and the amount of bedrooms we need." Nodding his head he reached out to place a hand on her shoulder. "She might put the family before...but you are part of the family. You are part of the family and you are the other half of the us. You hold a place that no one else can. Think of it as being in both places - so you are...in a sense a head of it. But a bigger place for a family would be good...I'm sure she'll go for that...you'll just have to fill it up and make it feel cozy and warm." Shrugging a bit, with a smile in place, he had a feeling Rhona was the sort to want something warm and closed in...secure feeling. It felt like a warm blanket sort to speak.
"Whatever you want. You can ask me about myself, get to know me, talk about the family we're both apart of...anything you want to discuss. I'm an open book." He'd learned to become one...it helped. Though he still kept secrets from Caleb...or rather one secret - one big one.
