A Fireside Party!
It was early night, the sun had just fallen below the horizon of the trees. Pandara had her skirt tied short revealing her hoofs and orange fur legs, and was wearing leather gloves as she approached a nice space for a large fire. She began building the fire, with a stone circle, and a large neatly piled selection of dry wood in the center. With a flint stone and some leaves as a fire starter, Pan worked at creating a fire. Blowing upon it and moving the wood a bit here and there, she finally got it to where it was blazing fine without much care. She smiled as she tied her skirt down and walked over to her djimba.
The drum was nice, had orange and green beads on the thread holding the goat skin tight to the large hallowed out piece of wood. Pan carried the large djimba over to the fire to tighten up the head. Rubbing on it with her hands it became tight enough to produce a nice tone. She went back to a log she had set out before.. one of many 'seats' she had prepared for the ongoing celebration.
Pan had invited the others of the caravan to join and was now going to call out to everyone with the drum. She started beating on it, finally producing a rythm she was happy with. It seemed the rythm was calling out to everyone to join.
A wine flask sat by her seat, beating with just one hand for a measure, Pan reached down to take a swig. Smiling she continued a tiny bit happier with a small drink.

Hearing the drums, Leshya'e speeded up her preparations for the festivities. Wrapping a scarf around Anezka's head to keep her hair up, she hurried the girl along to finish dressing herself. Looking in the mirror, she put in a few hoops and then slid some bangles onto her wrists.
Hustling herself and Anezka out of the wagon, she grabbed a basket of bread and a tambourine. Anezka smiled and waved at Pandara as she walked over to the circle and began to dance around the fire a bit. "Hello there...Oh, I thought I would be late. Here I am rushing us out of the wagon, thinking we were missing out." Anezka laughed at her mother and went back to Varekai to grab her own tambourine.

Pan shook her head, still keeping the beat while playing the low drum. "No, not late it's just started." Pan beat on the side of the drum a little in the middle of the coversation, creating a higher pitch noise leading back to her origional rythm in the middle of low drum. "You look gorgeous!"
Pan herself had large earrings in her stretched ears, and was wearing very bright clothing. She wore her normal colors, green, orange, and yellow but with much nicer fabrics and designs. She wore tons of jewelry, her arm nearly covered in bangles that jingled with the drum playing. No rings though, that hindered the playing and was hard on her hands.
Pan never stopped playing as she spoke, only talking louder and playing softer, she took another swig of her wine flask while playing one handed. Holding it up she offered a swig to Leshya'e, "Drink?" She asked smiling.

"Ey, Pan, I'll have one!" Marissa entrered the campfire circle, a smile in her eyes and a laugh on her lips. She was wearing a dress- something she rarely did but for special occasion. It was modest, but attractive- forest green and fell to her calfs, tied up the front and had purple trim on the short-sleeves and skirt cuff. Kale held his mother's hand and trailed behind excitedly, wearing a deep purple shirt and brown breeches.
The pair grinned, and Marissa waved excitedly.

Caroline hears the drums and excitedly takes a coin skirt from the dark oak trunk where she keeps her costumes. She ties it 'round her waist, the gold coins jangling from the blue fabric. She takes out another, smaller skirt for Ro and gives it to her, this one brown with copper coins. She grabs her zils off of the desk and attaches them to her fingers, pausing to make sure Ro's gotten her skirt on properly. Rojiza fumbles slightly with the heavy fabric, but eventually gets it tied around her waist. She likes how it jingles when she moves, like Mamma always does. She smiles and shakes her little hips around. "Perfecto, querida! Vamanos!" says Caroline jubilantly, jumping out the door with a Scottish whoop, Rojiza right behind her. She joins the rhythm with exuberance, her pretty little zils adding a ringing descant to the drum and tambourine.

"Ah, yes please, Pan..." Shy took the flask and lightly nodded to Pandara, then took a quick swig and then handed it back. Tucking a stray bit of hair back into it's clip, she found a place to sit down and let out a hearty laugh at Caroline.
Anezka came back from Varekai with her tambourine, then grabbed the other one. Banging one on her hip and shaking one in the air, she began to dance around to the beat.

Kale saw Ani dancing and waddled over to her, watching with a smile on his face. Slowly (and quite off-rythm as well), he began to lean from side to side, stomped one foot and then the other, and clapped his hands in an awkward sort of baby dance.

Caroline swirls and turns with years of practice, every now and then letting an ululating Scottish cry of exultation undulate into the air like snakes of sound.
Rojiza, still trying to get the hang of her new long legs, fumbles over her skirts and falls a few times. Eventually she finds a rhythm of a dance far less complicated than her mother's.

Ani looked down at Kale and smiled at his little dance. Deciding to be kind, she handed one of her tambourine's to Kale, "You can shake it...if you want to...like this." She smiled and demonstrated a simple dance to the little fox boy, tapping the tambourine on her hand and her hip.

Pan smiled at Shy as she handed the wine to Marissa, "Help yourself" She said, going back to the rythm that was now collecting dancers. She watched everyone as they gathered and seemed to have fun dancing, laughing at Kale as he waddled around the fire. It was wonderful seeing both the adults and children have such a great time.
Her rythm seemed to gain energy as the people came around, forming to what the dancers seemed to like better. A sort of symphany of dancer and drummers formed, as the skirt coins aided in the beat as well.
The fire was going high but Pan would have to stop the rythm shortly at a good time to see to it. She had a surprise in store for all. A small one but still a fun surprise.

Most would have assumed that the mysterious traveler had just ceased following the group, but such was not so. Veshengo had indeed continued to keep a close and watchful eye on them. Tying his horse to a distant tree, Veshengo snuck through the woods and headed to the sounds and firelight of the festivities. Hiding behind one of the wagons, he watched the women dance, smiling at the children as they danced.

Kale laughed, immensly pleased. He continued to bounce in gaeity, banging the tambourine on his hand and laughed with Ani.
Marissa sipped her drink, affectionately gazing on at her son.

Anezka laughed gayfully and then squatted down infront of Kale, "You dance good, Kale..." She smiled and continued to bang and shake her tambourine. Looking up, she flashed a smile at both Marissa and her own mother, Leshya'e. I think I've made a new friend.

Leshya'e decided to just sit back and drink, instead of get up and dance. She leaned one hand back onto the log she was sitting on and the other held onto her drink. As Kale, Anezka and Pandara continued to play Leshya'e swayed back and forth, watching as the other danced.

Tired now, Rojiza sits down on the log next to Leshya'e, being careful with Mother's coin skirt. She draws her legs up and sits cross-legged, watching with awe the complicated swirls and turns Caroline does. Rojiza's expression is jubilant, but her eyes hold a bit of sadness.
