They would wake early...before the sun even touched the morning sky. Doing that would make the walk there nice a cold, maybe a little more dangerous but he would keep a sharp eye. And there new friend seemed like she had an internal alarm around anything she was not sure about. Yes that would work.
The next morning Dryxel woke Twix with a gental nudge of his nose. "Twix we have to leave now." The foal stired but did not wake. "Come on buddy I know it early but we have to go to the Grandfather Tree." Twix sleepily opened one eye at Dryxel and stuck his tong out at his adopted papa in a playful way. "Oh really now?" Dryxel said with a grin and Twix nodded his head up and down vigorously with his eyes closed and a large smile. Bending back down Dryxel pulled his muzzle in to Twixs ribs and shook his head which had the desired effect for both other. Twix was rolling around in a fit of laughter and out of his nest read for the day.
"Could you two boys keep it down?" Karry called from her roost on the branch just above their den. "We are sorry Karry but we need to get going to the Grandfather Tree." Karry was not to please to be woken before the sun but glided down and landed on the now standing Twix. "Ok but sleeping until morning." She informed them both with a stern look then closed her eyes. Twix tried not to giggle but Dryxel could tell he was struggling.
It was a quit walk through the Barrens and to the Grandfather Tree. The sun had only just come up for morning when the Great Tree came into view. Karry was still asleep but Twix was excited as ever so she would be awake any moment. Once the reached the hill Dryxel told Karry who was just opening her eyes and Twix to stay right there so he could approach the tree. Twix nodded his understand and Dryxel set off at a peaceful trout.
As he approach the Grandfather Tree she bowed low much as he had before. Once to the base of the roots he waited for the Great Tree's vision. "I am Ready O Great Tree." he said in respect.
