Something about her visions was bothering her. Themes were beginning to repeat where normally they would be as scattered and seemingly random as pollen in the wind. Sundew didn't know what to make of it, and as per usual she kept her questions to herself. She was The Speaker, not The Clueless Inquisitor.
Besides, she could puzzle out at least a semblance of meaning in the confusion: Rebirth: old lives transformed. Renewal: new lives coming into the fold. And more often now, she would find herself in the form a doe, not the one that she took as metaphor for herself but someone else. Running. Fighting. Dotted with stars as a constellation.
Tonight, Sundew Scion couldn't sleep. Her mind was restless with these visions and questions. She decided there was no point in rolling around in her den and got up. A walk might do her some good.
Bathed in moonlight, she glided out from her den, greeting elves on patrol or their own moonlit strolls. It wasn't uncommon to see the terran out like this, and Sundew took comfort at least in that. But she wanted to get a little further away than usual, out and beyond the typical verve and noise of the Court. Perhaps in the quiet, she might find more answers...or at the very least calm down enough to go back to sleep. Nodding at the elves stationed near the border, she slipped out into the night, a full moon leading her way.

As Frosted shifted her worn-out little body into the same bush she had called home the last week or so, she wondered if she was going to survive. Her brother had abandoned her, after some nasty words, and she had seen no signs nor heard any calls from her family. She was beginning to think she was not going to make it in this harsh environment, and even though spring had come to the land, the air still was a bit frigid at night.
Frosted had started off her day like the last few, waking up, not sure where she was as the sun hit her through the barren limbs of the bush she was calling home at this time. She had dug herself a small little cubby in the base of the barren bush where she would curl up underneath. Her pale fur made it quite easy for her to hide.
As the day went on, she had known of a stream that she would drink from, but the food was scarce. Her parents had taken her on one or two hunts, but she never was the one tracking or killing. She did try to catch some bugs and some small rodents, but she was always wary of any other big predators that were in the area. She never had any luck, has her stomach had been reminding her quite frequently.
As the day game to a close and the sun already setting, Frosted would sit out to look at the stars. Often whimpering as her body was sore, achy, and just worn-out from a pup struggling to survive on her own in the mountains.
As she headed back to her little cubby, she could not help but think of her family. Fitting it quite easily has her body had shrunk-in a bit from lack of nutrition, she just peered outside into the wilderness. Her mind just racing, wondering what to do.
It seemed as though her family did not want her, and if her family did not want her, who did?

There it was again...that niggling in her mind. It was the equivalent of suddenly becoming aware of a cavern entrance and compelled to investigate. Sundew let her eyes fall half-lidded as she explored inwardly and outwardly, her paws automatically following old paths beyond the border. If she could just...there! It was almost like having a vision, and yet it wasn't: Sundew couldn't say it felt quite the same, though there was still an ethereal quality to it. Bu tit was a lot more physical, a description that was odd given the non-contact. But she could feel wind brushing through her fur as she pranced, see the trees rush past effortlessly as if in flight. But her paw-hooves were moving with practiced grace, though she couldn't say how she knew. The moon danced above, and the stars seemed to trail in the doe's wake.
And then the moon began to fall.
The terran stopped, feeling the atmosphere in her inner sight change, if subtly. Chasing this strange deer seemed to trigger micro-visions for one reason or another. The moon continued to fall, slow and inexhaustable, its lines beginning to blur as it fell into the trees. Without question, Sundew followed its light, her eyes open but unseeing of her surroundings. Had others seen her, they might have caught the glow in them that no natural light could reflect.
The moon seemed to burst into tiny crystals of light as she drew near, drifting in an unseen wind like snow flurries. When Sundew blinked and returned to reality, she realized then that she wasn't alone: on that wind, she could scent another wolf. Rather than grow wary as elves were wont, the terran remained serene as the moon that had guided her here. She trusted in her visions; she simply must.
"Will you come out?" she asked the twilight glen, her voice soft. "I mean no harm." Her eyes remained dazzled by the vision and not-vision, and so she was still adjusting to her new surroundings.

Frosted shivered as brushed steps on the terrain were getting closer and closer to her. She was not ready to be done and although she would love to be found by someone, she could not trust just anyone. She had been called a few times already by other wolves and wildlife and was not keen on being found at the moment. She stayed silent, trying her best to hush her heavy breathing and silent her rumbling stomach. The pains were getting to unbearable and she wanted to let out a whimper to the pain but she knew she needed to stay silent for the time being.
The underneath of the bush that she called home was started to not work as well for her as she was growing too big for the small area she had dug, so instead of being completely obscured from those passing, her muted body showed quite a bit. As the steps drew closer, Frosted closed her eyes and wished for whatever was walking by would just continue walking through, even if her scent was picked up, but upon the next words that fell upon her ears, she knew she had been found.
She waited a moment as the first words were spoken, and then took a sharp breath as the second set of words fell out of the stranger's muzzle. The voice seemed nicer than the ones she had listened to before, and it almost made her want to reach out to the wolf, but she was still apprehensive to others.
As her pink eyes looked forward, she instantly saw the shape of a brown wolf that had a kind of gentleness to her that showed she meant no harm. Being quite shy, she poked her white muzzle from under the brush and let out a small yip. She was not sure what to say at this moment. This was her first time talking back to others since she had run away from home and even though she was scared, she knew she had to be courteous to the bigger wolf.
"Hi..."
Frosted spoke with a shaky, small voice. With half her body still cramped under the brush, her stomach let out a grumble with pain. A small whimper escaped her muzzle as she looked back up at the wolf and wished for a friend.

Sundew knew what heartbreak felt like, that it came multi-faceted like a gem and could be felt in so many different ways. Loss of loved ones, hidden feelings pushed down, goals unobtainable, lingering aches, undefeated injustice, and more besides. But she learned of a new side, a different degree of pain, when movement drew her eye and she gazed upon that pup. Her heart, which her terran sisters had several times said was too large for its own good, felt ready to bleed from whatever was stabbing at it so.
"Hello," she said softly. "Hello, little moon. I am..." Sundew's voice hitched, and she took a moment to recompose herself. "My name is Sundew. I am so sorry that you fell from the sky. Would you like help?"

Looking up at the wolf, she noticed the blazing eyes of purple shades. Frosted knew what this meant since her pup sister had the same eyes and she was quite intrigued. The voice seemed nice and full of softness, unlike those that had crossed her path during her seclusion. She was unsure if she could trust this dire-wolf whose stature was quite like her mom's, although she seemed to hold her stance different. With another rumble of her stomach, she knew she would not last long without getting some food into her belly soon.
Listening to the words, she had no idea what it meant to fall from the sky. Maybe she looked worse for wear? Regardless she was happy to take a helping hand from a kind wolf. Hopefully, one that could give her home full of love and care.
"...hi..Sundew." Her voice came out shaky to her surprise. Frosted Morning was hoping that she could be strong in this moment but the unwavering in her greeting showed she was still a bit scared. Taking a deep breath she turned her pink shaded eyes on the seer.
"I'm Frosted, or Frost." She waited a second before speaking on the question that was asked of her. She was unsure of what to say, but her rumbling stomach soon helped her figure it out. "...I'm...really hungry."
Her gaze dropped for a moment before she looked up again. With a deep sigh that mixed with a yip, Frosted started to shimmy her body from the hole that she called home for that last week or so.

Sundew stepped back to allow her more room to maneuver out of the hole. "I can only imagine," she said sympathetically.
She considered asking Frosted if her family was possibly around, slim as the chances were. But something told her--perhaps as part of her vision--that the pup was very alone, rather than mistreated, lost, or simply a runaway. Still, the terran scanned around one more time just to be sure, seeing nothing but the black shadows of trees and the moon's light peeking through them, painting the land silver and gray.
"Would you like me to take you to my den?" Sundew asked, dipping her head to Frosted's level. "My pack is not far from here, and I would see you nursed back to full strength. We could look for your mother after, if you would like."

Finally shifting out of the small hole, she looked up at the brown wolf and kept guarded looking around for anything that could emerge from the darkness surrounding them. Noticing the seer had done so as well, she started to calm down and relaxed in front of her. "sure.. I could go back." She was hungry and maybe she had food back at her den. This was the first friendly face she had seen in a while but the words that escaped the muzzle of the wolf made her eyes lower in sadness. She did not want to go back to her family, they did not want her from her viewpoint. She was the oddball and ran away to let them have their own perfect family.
"um... I'm not sure." Even though she did just meet this wolf, she was unsure if she should lie to this wolf or tell her the truth, but the truth might take her back to the den of her parents and she did not want to go back there, not now at least. Her ears also caught another word that she had not heard yet. Pack. She had never seen a pack nor even thought about it before, but it would be interesting to see.
"A pack? .. I would love to meet a pack...can you take me there?"
Her stomach rumbled again and she was unsure how far she would make it, but she had to push through to show this wolf that she was strong enough to survive. With a small smile and yip, she looked up at the wolf with hopeful eyes.

How young was she that she had never heard of a pack? Or were her parent or parents simply that isolated? What had happened that Frosted didn't want to return to her family? Or was that simply the caprice of the young at work, with no thought for the future when the now was so immediate and frightening? Sundew held back the frown she wanted to make, nodding instead.
"I would be more than happy to let you stay with me there, little moon," she said, hushed and just for the pup. There was no particular reason to keep using that moniker except that Sundew's vision had deemed her as such. "But I would not make you walk if you are tired. Would you let me carry you?" She wanted to offer to hunt there and then with how loud the youngling's stomach growled, but the terran knew it wasn't wise to leave Frosted alone again.
And how could she anyway, when the pup looked at her like that? Her heart twisted.
"When we arrive and you are safe in my den, I can go hunting for you," she added as an offer. "Nobody will disturb you there; my garden would keep you safe."

Her ears suddenly perking up as the thought of a new home was offered to her. Being alone for, what seemed like forever, she knew she would not be able to survive quite on her own before something bigger and meaner found her. She was just lucky to be found by a wolf that was kind and generous, all the things she was not used to. Without too much of a thought, she answered. "yes... that would be nice to stay with you." It was not until the next question was asked that Frosted realized how tired and exhausted she was. She had been up all day, barely sleeping at night and the stress of every sound that she heard completely drained her of any energy.
She wanted to seem strong to this wolf that was taking her in, but she also did not want to pass out on the way to their destination. With hurt eyes, she whispered. "umm.. yes please." She thought it would easier for the adult wolf to carry her since Frosted had no idea how long it would take before they got there and if they ran into any troubles, she would not be left behind.
Grumbling at the sound of anything that pertained to food, she wagged her tail with the energy she had left and let out a small yip of excitement. She was nervous to met other wolves and how they would take to her 'diseased' fur color as some had called it, but was excited to get to be taken somewhere that she would finally be safe.
Sitting down in front of the wolf, she awaited to be taken to a place where she could call home.

It occurred to her then that she had yet to explain what the Murkwood Court was, who she was within it, and a great deal many more things to Frosted. But in that pre-destined moment--for it had to be, as her visions had led her here--Sundew's normal anxiety was swept away. She couldn't afford to show any worry in front of the pup as it was, and being an elf, Sunny was more than practiced in hiding her thoughts.
She didn't hide all of them, however: love had to be evident in her eyes as she bent down and gently took Frosted by the loose scruff of her neck. Was that what her sister would soon feel when her own pups were born? Perhaps it was presumptuous to draw a parallel...Just as it had to be presumptuous to call herself a mother within ten minutes of meeting the pup. There was no telling what the future might hold necessarily, terran or otherwise. Frosted's family could well one day show up.
But she didn't give the thought room to lie down and take root, at least for now. Instead, she hummed in the hopes of soothing Frosted along the journey and began to make her way back to the Court. There would be time later to explain it all, but the now was more important: a home, a meal, and sleep...
