Oleander looked the strange things over before rifling through his pack to find something that he had brought with him. Propping the item, a book of course, on a stump he opened it and started flipping through the pages. Always looking between the creature and the pictures in the book, it seemed that it didn't appear to be any in this one. Perhaps in another? But unfortunately this had been the only one that he had thought to bring with him.
"I will have to go back and find the other book." Oleander said closing this one and putting it back into his Satchel.
'Take one of these with you. It should make your research easier then traveling back and forth' Brightheart said with a smile, to be rid of one would be a blessing.
This brightened Oleander greatly as one was swept up and placed into a basket. Clipping away, he went one towards back to his home. Along the way he did have a bit of trouble as the critter struggled against the basket looking to get out.
"Calm down, we'll figure out everything once we get home." Oleander said cheerily, only the critter squealed even louder.
Ears assaulted by the very shrieks of the critter Oleander made it back to his home. The creature was the first thing to break free from the basket and streak through the bushes. Gasping slightly, Oleander took after the nimble thing, catching it by its tail in his teeth he picked it up off its feet. This was going to be harder then he had first thought. If it was this much trouble for the Ascended, it was going to be trouble even the more. He was going to have to have a place to house this little one.
Placing it back down, keeping a hoof on its tail as he looked around, the critter shrieking as he did. Where was he going to keep this little one. Glancing around he pulled a glass container from a shelf, it would have to work for the time being.
"This might work... A bit small, but something to keep you out of trouble." Oleander said before he picked it up and dropped it into the glass tank.
The critter cried out its displeasure of being placed in something it couldn't move within. But it settled down ever so slightly, large eyes watching the larger buck as he seemed to be hunting for something. Standing on a small stump of a log, Oleander searched for the book he had never thought to have taken with him.
"Ah-huh! There you are." He said pulling the leather tomb from a shelf of many others.
He laid it on a table he had scavenged from the Ruins. Opening the book, this one was of creatures of mythology. Flipping through the pages, he looked at the tank he had placed the critter in and found it gone. GONE! Looking around he hunted for it.
"Oh no, where have you gone now..." Oleander said looking around all the low places before there was a crash behind him.
Head snapping up and towards the sound his ears flicking to the sides. Eyes bugging out as he spots the little nipper on one of the many shelves in the back of his home. It had knocked off one of his many colored glass containers. Racing over towards the smashed glass he looked up at the critter there was a bit of anger in his gaze.
"That was my favorite container and you BROKE IT!" he shouted the last two words that made the critter back away and try to hide behind another of the containers almost shoving it too off the shelf.
Moving quickly Oleander pulled all the other containers off shelf and placed them where ever he could find a place. Afterwards he reached over and grabbed the critter from the shelf by the scruff of the neck. He wasn't about to let this ruin his home more then it had already. Dropping the cowed critter back into the tank he glared down at it.
"Stay there, until I can see what I need to do to care for you." He said as the critter tried to curl up into the tightest ball it could. "That is if I can find out what you are exactly, there aren't many books an things like you." his gaze still rested on the critter, whom at this point and seemed to have calmed. Almost seemed like it had gone to sleep...
