The tree faded away before his hoof could connect with it and he was back to where he had started. Putting the leg down Oleander looked around to where he had been ported to. Well to be ported wasn't exactly the right term as this was all in his mind. He had read of other experiences of these quests. Plopping his backside on the ground he had to ponder just what the tree had wanted from him. It was only when there was a loud crash and scream behind him did Oleander leap to his hooves and turn around.
"What was..." He started before noting the smoke that billowed out from the building.
"Oh no, oh no." was all he said afterwards racing forwards.
Oleander entered the building that housed the laboratory and glanced around. One of the walls had been crashed as something had happened here. Roaming through one of the few doors he was met by the smell of smoke and singed hair. Poking his head into the room he noted the Nouls that laid sprawled on the floor. What had they been doing in here? Surely they knew it wasn't safe to handle these things.
"Didn't you know that handling objects left here by the others was a dangerous thing?" Oleander asked as if he were questioning a foal.
The first Nouls had written specifically not to try and mess with the stuff and now look at you all. Sprawls out on the floor like the foals you seem to be."These nouls didn't speak much as they groaned and Oleander had to drag them out of the room one by one. He dropped them just outside where the air was cleanest. While he walked back into the room and hunted for whatever it was they had been trying to work on. Before getting too far he picked up something and placed it over the smoking container.
"That is enough out of you, simmer down." Oleander told the container before shifting if off the apparent flame it had been over.
"Now just what were those sillies doing in here?" Scowering the floor for papers, books anything, he found what was left of a notepad left by the Others. Nosing at it he squinted at the top sheet that seemed to be nothing but squiggles. To his conclusion they were just messing around and it had backfired on them. A small chuckle came to his lips at the thought. It served them right for causing such trouble and now he had to clean it up.
"What foals, One of these days it will come back and n** them worse." this still gave him a chuckle.
Oleander took the notepad he had looked at to start and waved it to clear the air a bit more before dropping it again. He took a once around the room as the capped container seemed to have settled down enough to uncap and release what little smoke was left. He had to wonder just what these Nouls had been up to. Around the station were other liquids that were left by the Others as well as books. Taking a glance at one that was open he blinked at the pages that it was open to.
"Wound Begone in three simple steps"
Wound begone? Oleander just stared, as bizarre as it was, this sounded like such a baaaad idea.
"Just what were they thinking? This is so not cool... There is no shortcuts..." And he knew this from his own experiences...
