Caius sat at So Sheen's dinner table with a worn deck of tarot cards in his hands, the calloused and leathery skin a non-issue as he delicately shuffled the deck, silently reflecting on the past few months. Before winter and the snow, So Sheen had met him in a spot using the very deck he was shuffling, offering readings to others to raise money for a hotel and hot meals. The work he often performed -- temp work usually -- had dried up, but the woman So Sheen had taken him into her home and affoded him shelter, warmth, and comfort. She afforded him safety, and he silently appreciated it. Still, he wondered if she was familiar. She had the face of the cult leader the news in Seattle spoke of before his lost time known as the White Goddess, but if she was... She was a good, kind woman and he owed her his life, his livelihood. He'd taken a job offering readings to a clientelle in a new age store, and was helping witgh rent and bills as he tried to pocket any spare dime to achieve a dream of his -- his own store, his own dream store that comfortably afforded all a safe respite, books, and more. It was... A nice dream. Caius looked up hearing a door open, and smiled, eye smile reaching his eyes as he motionined gently. "Good Morning, So Sheen. Would you like a reading today?" He offered gently.

It had taken getting used to another body in her home. Oh, her apartment was a two-bedroom, but she'd been used to only sharing it with Anwnn. But the young man, Caius...he was familiar and she couldn't help but want to keep him close. He reminded her of someone she'd known in Seattle, and he acknowledged her divinity. She hadn't realized just how much she'd craved that.
She yawned, exiting her room dressed in one of her nightgowns and a plush white robe. She paused when she passed Caius, blinking sleepily. "Mmm, one moment. I would love a reading, I simply need my morning tea first." She slipped close to him on her way to the kitchen proper, stroking his cheek. "I won't be long. Would you like a cup as well, dear boy?"

"As you wish." Caius smiled, leaning into her touch. He missed basic human closeness, contact and presence, and although this came of divinity, not mortal hands... He welcomed it, closing his eyes a moment to rtelish it before worrying his stubble scratched overmuch -- he really just couldn't grow this peachfuzz - and he looked up amiably. "I would be most grateful for a cup, if it is no trouble. I can shuffle the deck as you work. Would you have a plain daily future reading, or something specific?" He smiled a bit gently to her, feeling warmth.

She chuckled, a soft sound that fit her seemingly soft appearance. "It is no trouble, Caius. And a daily reading would be more than wonderful." She pressed a kiss to his forehead before moving to the kitchen, the sounds of tea making emanating from the area as she worked. About ten minutes later, she walked out, two cups of a fragrant black blend in her hands, sweetened and creamed to their preferences. "Here you are."
She set his down before him before taking a seat at the little dining room table, sipping at her own cup. "Shall we see what needs tending to?"

Caius shuffled his worn deck gently, hands firm in their work. He'd saved parts of his pay from assorted work before living with So Sheen to buy a used, loved deck of cards for tarot, and the man was ever careful with the deck. The artwork was beautiful, delicate and sensitive as it moved, and he nodded appreciatively before drawing buy a single card, placing it down to read before his expression faltered just a moment at the Page of Cups. He took a deep breath, and looked top So Sheen calmly. He woulsn't be jealous. He couldn't be. "Today, it appears, is a day for new relationships, love and sffection with a spontanious element to it -- playful, energizing... But new none the less. It seems, my lady, youwill possibly find someone to love today. Perhaps another divine soul." Caius managed not to look disheartened -- he did not deny it to himself. He was smitten, utterly, with the woman -- but she was the White Goddess, and far out of mortal reach. Far more divine than a wretch like him, whom needed saving. Yicr, isd those senshi spoke true, but he only remembered Seattle, and then nothing of how or why he came to Destiny City. and that, he determined, was a crying shame.

The woman watched him, sipping at her tea and her eyes widening a bit at the card. Hm...She was silent, thoughtful, as she had no intention of 'finding someone new'. Though she was not overly fond of people, especially those who did not acknowledge her divinity...Caius had become a steady part of her life, and he saw her. Saw her divine brilliance, and adored her for it.
"Why should I need another divine soul, when I have a mortal soul here who worships me as no other does?" She said it matter-of-factly, sipping at her tea again as if there was nothing out of the ordinary about it.

"It is not the mortal's to know the mind of the divine. I merely presented the information as the fates brought it to me." Caius gently collected the card, shuffling it into his deck calmly. "Cards are vague as it is' perhaps so those whom might not understand fate might have seeds of clues." He shuffled once, and neatly laid the deck on the table, taking his tea and taking a deep sip, befoe lowering it. "As it stands, I do not work today. So yours is my only planned reading today."

He was being dense. So Sheen stared at him, incredulous for a moment, before huffing. "Dear boy, I was speaking of you." She rolled her eyes before sipping at her tea again. "If I am going to pursue anything 'new' and even remotely 'romance'-related, it will be with you, my most loyal of the White."

Caius blinked, one hand raising to his chest in suprise as he stared, wide eyed, at his lady, blinking s he turned light pink. "Myself? I am but a man, my lady. Hardly worthy of a goddess. Would you not prefer a god? One worthy ofyour attention? Even if he be a lesser god, hje is far above a mortal."

"I prefer someone who is aware of who I am, and is faithful to me and me alone." She set her tea down and got up, moving to stand beside his chair. "A god would be too caught up in himself. You? You would attend my every want, my every need. You would be mine and mine alone, no need to share you with any followers. My beloved, my prophet, my companion."

"A prophet onlyyo yjose whom might lisyten, and merelycompanion to those whom would not see." Caius seemed distant a moment. He didn't want to see her arrested as a vult leader again, and Caius sipped his tea again before lookingup, releif writ on his face. "I confess I... was jealous at the reading. You are too good to me."

She reached out to caress his cheek, her smile softening. "Caius. My sweet boy. You've been nothing but loyal and sweet and attentive since we met. You've no need to be jealous. And you needn't worry. I am much more careful now. They'll not be locking divinity away again." She leaned in to catch his lips in a kiss. "Your goddess will not risk being caught again by unbelievers."

"O merely worry they might say... Terrible things again." Caius pressed closer and wrapped his arms about her, eyes closing. "Goddess or not, uoir body is mortal, and I fear losing a tangible means to hold you. As for jealousy I... I cannot help myself, and I'm sorry." He didn't want to be alone on the street again, thoughh he did bring So Sheen to meet the waitress at his tyruck stop. She was a good woman, one deserving of blessings, secretively or not. Aware or not.

Her other hand joined its twin in cupping his face, pressing soft kisses to his temples and lips. "Oh my dear boy. My sweet boy, always thinking of my well-being. I could not ask for a better companion." She gave him a soft smile. "I was already your goddess, Caius, but now, you are my companion. No other shall have you. Is that clear~?"

Caius smiled, before gently returning her kisses with one of his own, smiling to her warmly. "I understand, my lady." He responded, and reached to caress her cheek with a softness, tenderness writ on his face. She didn't know what she'd chosen for a companion - he dared not share the powered world with his goddess, but he did vow to himself to not merely be a knight, but [o]her knight, and he leaned in gently before pulling her into his lap gently, still beaming. "I am.. Grateful to be chosen for such an honor."
