Quote:
You are in the ruins of Erli. Suddenly a beam of metal comes crashing down not far from you and you hear a shout of pain. The beam has collapsed on top of a predator that was hunting you! The predator is alive, but trapped and injured.
What do you do?
The world wavered around him then fell away to land him in the Ruins. Erli was a place he had not frequented as much as the Barrens and Homewood. Barrens mostly to find what was lost and Homewood to gather supplies for another extended bout in the Barrens. Daven was never one to really settle down in one place and at the moment was a restless soul. Everything was on edge and he could fight or flight away from things in an instant if needed. For the moment, everything seemed peaceful, besides the off and on crumbling of the brick structures around him. Stopping a moment in not the most effective spot, Draven jumped as the loud tumble of concrete and metal came crashing down.
He leaped forward away from the crash, only to have his ears assaulted by something that was caught in the collapse. While it was just a large beam that had fallen, its supports giving way to the many vines that decayed the concrete beneath. His gaze followed the beam to see that is had landed and pinned a large animal that had been behind him. The large cat like predator growled and roared at Draven as he moved closer. Raising his head up he watched the large cat as it struggled to get out from under the beam. The beam itself had come down and pinned one of its legs to the ground beneath the edge. He had no doubt that it had broken that leg for sure.
"Calm down." Draven said as he moved to the side, keeping out of range of the claws that raked at him.
There was a time when he had thought to just put the cat down. To ease its suffering and it would be one less predator roaming the Ruins. Assessing what was happening, Draven thought again of ending the Cat before the softer sound of cries came from the bushes to his side. Distracted, Draven looked over and stepped closer to find three small cats. These were no bigger then maybe Bluebell and clearly not old enough to be on their own. Ears still back and eyes almost completely open. He stood there for a moment as the cat's cry rang him back.
Glancing back, it seemed that this cat was out hunting for something for her cubs to eat. He couldn't really fault the Predator for wanting to feed her family. Sighing, he glanced between the cubs and the larger cat who seemed more wanting to get to her cubs then him now.
"I said calm down, I'll get you out." Draven gave a little sterner then before, he was sure this animal couldn't understand him like Bluebell could.
Draven looked around for something to help lever the beam off the cat, first though he needed something to calm her. The idea came to him as he stepped over and picked up one of the cubs. This got him four shallow scratches as the cub did not like it. One by one he headed over to the mother and placed down her cubs. That at least calmed her slightly, but she still watched him carefully...
Doing a bit of scouting around, Draven found a couple herbs that would help with pain and he had found another small beam he could lift. Returning to the larger cat, she still watched him with glowing eyes as he worked. Sliding the small beam beneath the larger and against a large rock. Draven heaved with what he had to pop the larger beam up off the Cat's leg. To which she shifted and limped out of the hole with her cubs following. After she was free, Draven let the beams crash to the ground.
The Cat found the herbs and set to eating them on her own, her leg might never be the same without further help, Draven just didn't see himself getting closer then he already was. What ever happened after this would be up to nature... Backing away, Draven turned to leave the family to themselves. While the cubs would grow to hunt Nouls as well, but one life saved saved a family...
