 The waters were quiet that day.. he has been out on the boat for hours now pulling in the fish with the others like always they would be out there it seemed from sunset to sundown sometimes.. but today he was lost in another daydream thinking of a place beyond this sleepy little fishing village; The village where Odelia grew up was different now.. all the destruction and pain left from the pirates diminished, people actually tried to take pride in their homes with decorations of flowers or even doormats something that would have never happened nearly 30 years ago with the appearance of the first pirates; Jim's hand pulled at the rope feeling the strain that the heavy fish brought upon the nets as he heaved them into the boats; It seemed like another typical day but on the edge of the distance they could see a ship and with it a black flag,"Lets move it in boys!", called an older fisherman while Jim grabbed the oars, as he began to row back towards land,"Is that a pirate ship?", he asked the old timer who was tying down the wiggling fish,"Ya.. well they don't come to stay no more so it doesn't matter", he said, as jim frowned at him,"What.. if its Odelia Hopkins?", he said trying to ask about his long lost sister like she was of great important,"ha!", said the man chuckling,"That gal and her crew hadn't been seen in these parts for over 15 years", he rubbed his nose,"Way before you was born they left ain't been back may be dead", he shrugged as Jim glared at him grumbling under his breathe; They made it back to the shore and the people were in the process of helping barrel up the fish so they could be sent up to the market in the small town, Jim glanced up the ship was getting closer as a gleam of hope could be seen sparkling in his brown eyes; |

☠.. them that dies will be the lucky ones ..☠Ship: 'The Lady of Fortune'  far away from land, the Lady of Fortune weighed anchor outside the boundaries as the crew bustled about "i don't know about this cap'n" Israel Hands, Silver's Quartermaster, said looking out to the town which Long John had his spyglass out to "that fog were a trick of luck last night, but to lead us here of all places" he said as Silver collapsed the glass and handed it to the officer "send a boat ashore ... quarter of the cargo to sell" he said as he started to limp off but Israel grabbed his arm "Long John ... were she to find out about this-" "then we shall be on out most gentlemanly behavior whilst upon this landmark .... you hear that lads?!" he said turning to the crew "this be a capital port only! no rum, no fightin, no gamblin. and should any of ye so much as even look at a woman here with lust in their eyes then you'll be as blind as Pew be!" he said making the crew, reluctantly, agree "threatinin is good and all, but you sure they'll do all you say?" he asked as Silver scoffed with a slight nod "fine. you, me and George will go ashore to sell ... rest of you will stay here or mark me ... there'll be the devil to pay" he said with a scowl and went over to the long boat that was being loaded up as his parrot landed on his shoulder "and i expect you be on yer best behavior as well, Captain Flint" he said to the bird as it just replied "aye, aye" then whistled.
as soon as the boat landed in the water, Silver had a piece of white sailcloth tied to his crutch and held it up waving it as they rowed towards the port "FLAG OF TRUCE! FLAG OF TRUCE!" he called before they were close to the dock and put on his best smile "Ahoy! we come to offer business only. might we parlay with the governor or else person in charge of this lovely yet wounded port?"  |

Jim's brown eyes followed out toward the water seeing the pirates come ashore a group of older men came to gather near the port seeing the white flag Jim ran over to inspect with the others finally able to see a real pirate for the first time in his life.. no one came here in fear of what would happen to them if Odelia found out; He watched as a man with a missing leg and a parrot on his shoulder called out, he seen him standing in the small boat; As the old mayor stepped forward he frowned,"What are you doing here pirate? We... don't get your kind here ever...", he said simply in a somewhat nervous gesture,"What goods are you selling?", he asked somewhat curiously as there was a soft mummer among the men alot of the older women were standing in their doorways jim's mother included as she folded her arms glaring down at the shore, young girls clustered in a group a long way always and children stopped playing to look up at them most of the younger generation and never seen a pirate Long John had stumbled upon a village of curiosity; Jim shoved his way to the front of the group,"Have any of you heard any news about Odelia Hopkins!", he asked as he was hushed and pulled back, scolded under breathe by his elders as he glared up at them standing still despite their lack of keeping him quiet he turned to look John in the eye; |

☠.. them that dies will be the lucky ones ..☠Ship: 'The Lady of Fortune' as Long John was about to say what they had in cargo, when a young man caught his attention asking about Odelia. gazing up, Silver tilted his head in thought before looking at his other men then back at him "The Poisoned Snake?" he asked then nod after a while "her ship ran afoul of a hurricane some time ago, there's many a black-hearted soul who still sail the sea who would jump at the chance to return to their ways before she struck fear into the hearts said scoundrels and they would shout it in the streets! ... so from what i've heard, she still lives. and were a good thing. pretender pirates they be, not even to keep to the code. why i-" he said then stopped his ranting and sighed slightly "i understand your concern folk, but mark me: those vile lubbers who terrorized this place would have been gutted, the lot of them, had the Brethren Court remained. they were not fit to call themselves gentlemen of fortune, much less pirates" he said then looked down slightly fuming but then nodded before looking up "we have a full cargo: silk, tobacco, rum, sugar, lumber to name a few ... you tell us what you'll be needin in terms of shortages and we gladly give a percent of it to you, as a sign of good faith. an' do business with the merchants if you so wish it." |

Jim found his face dropping as Long john told him about the hurricane he remembered that.. wondering would it could have meant but in hopes and high he was glad to know she was still alive for it seemed her ship, at the mentioning of goods the people all began to rush forward and inspect the wares especially the merchants who could see that now these pirates agreed with their values, running away from the group jim headed back home to talk with his mom...
Sarah was sitting in the kitchen peeling potatoes as he came in,"Ma!", he said as she looked up at him glaring,"Long John says she is still alive", he let out a deep breathe as Sarah continued peeling,"And?", said sarah briskly,"Well... that means she will come back won't she!", he said clearly not sure why his mother was asking about this,"This isn't a good omen.. pirates showing up that isn't her or those children... what luck are we going to find ourselves taken over again?!", said Sarah cruelly as Jim shook his head,"Long John sa-", as his mother cut him off,"Stop listening to the words of a pirate my boy!! They can be a false as they can be true! I thought she would have came back years ago but she aint and i believe she is already dead..", she sighed,"Just like ya Pa... I wish.. he would have just hung on.. to find her..", she bent her head a shudder went through her as jim walked back silently stuffing his hands in his pockets as he closed the door to his mothers soft sobbing; He looked down at the beach it seemed that no one was scared of Long John and his companions but jim knew he had to find out about Odelia and that may mean leaving this small little sleeping village... he had to get ahold of Long John alone! |

☠.. them that dies will be the lucky ones ..☠Ship: 'The Lady of Fortune' as George Merry was writing down the goods that was needed, Long John and Israel Hands walked along the beach not far from the dock "are you sure about this, Silver? I mean giving them the goods-" "one percent of it ... a good amount considering our cargo but still ... we're not talkin about half. Besides, that merchant ship we had buy back there goods will more than make up for it. And after this, we will make a grand profit in Tortuga with the rest of it" he said as Hands nodded "I'll head back an inform the lads about this. You'll-? he asked then looked to George making Silver nod "George Merry has a nose for business ... impertinent, aye ... but he knows not to botch this up" he said then looked to the town "keep to the Code .... I'll be back, i wanna see what the merchants have, might find something nice for Madi" he said with a smile making Israel chuckle "twenty years ... i doubt i could last being married that long" he said but Long John just smiled back putting his hand on his heart "a black-hearted scoundrel can have his heart change gold if fated to be found by someone with the map to it" he said with a chuckle "pieces of eight, pieces of eight" the bird squawked making Silver look at his pet "right you are, Cap'n Flint. Right you are" he said smiling as Israel chuckled shaking his head "don't make poetry your new career, Captain. Save it for your missus" he said teasing and walked away "yer just jealous of my way with words" Silver called out but Israel only waved his hand in acknowledgement.
"ah ... this should prove to be an interesting diversion from course, Flint .... best we find an escort to said shop, just in case" he said thinking of on how everyone was on edge because of pirates, he didnt need fear they might think him of looting them as well. Limping over to the docks, Silver moved with a good amount of agility for a man with only one foot and looked to the crowd in thought before looking back up to the town and noticing the boy from earlier giving him a smile and a tip of his hat |

☠.. them that dies will be the lucky ones ..☠Ship: 'The Lady of Fortune' hearing the boy's request, Silver looked at him curiously and licked his teeth a bit in thought "well, to answer yer first question: i have several names: Long John to his friends, Silver to those he don't know well or for business purposes, Barbeque when he decides to cook for the crew, and sometimes from me wife; Jack" he said with a small chuckle and stood up a bit more leaning on his crutch "but as for yer second question, yer request, ol' Long John can't help but wonder: why? A peaceful settlement such as this, protected from low lifes by the mere mention of Captain Hopkins, and you'd seek passage on a pirate vessel to find said woman .... this isn't mere curiosity, if i may be so bold" he said then squinted his eyes at him "no .... only family would ever be so worried, am i right?" |

Jim found himself startled to see silver was so sharp,"I mean...", he said somewhat surprised and unprepared to answer this,"Yea... your right..", he said looking up into the old pirates eyes he found himself trying to trust the older man he had to try... mother said never trust a pirate it was bad news but maybe silver was what he said he was... and he had to try to believe somewhere,"I'm.. her little brother... she doesn't know I exist...", he confessed,"She never came back after that day.. they said she continued to hunt down more pirates.. and have been decimating those who don't stick to the code...", he replied softly,"Only storys we get from her.. is from passing, merchants, sailors... you are the first pirates brave enough to come by this way", he confessed; |

A sense of dread went through jim as he was told by silver it would be pointless for him to join him he would then go on to explain to jim what Jim's own mother had been trying to tell him from the beginning to live a life of a pirate was hard was it really worth the price you had to pay? Thought a sense of determination coursed through the boy and by the time the bird landed on him's shoulder he was staring intently at silver as he spoke up for himself,"I do realize there is a great sacrifice... It could mean leaving behind everything that i have ever known it could mean never seeing the only person I know as my family again but..", he said intently now glaring at silver,"If it could mean bringing her back her... to show that she was alive.. to show that she never really died... to give the only person who has ever been there for me a piece of mind for once in their life I'll be more than willing to waste my life", he told him,"So that she can finally be at rest with hers", he said Jim's fist clenched at his side as his conversation seemed to escalate,"If you won't take me I will find a way off this island... but since your the only one around here that know what it means to be a pirate I have to learn to be one to know how to think like one and I need to know how to think like one to figure out where she could have went", said jim finally the intense glare finally softened into a newfound confidence,"So... either you gonna have to take me along with ya or I'm going to follow ya anyways", he said; |

With a face drop from a complete 360 perspective of being confident and happy went a irritated, anxious expression of a young boy who didn't want to face his ma and have her say no,"You did this on purpose didn't ya?", he said crossing his arms as he gave him a 'seriously?' expression while sighing softly he dropped his gaze and rubbed his face,"Okay... If I managed to convince you maybe I can convince my mother.. but..", he said rubbing the back of his neck,"Well.. I don't know she... was pretty tore up earlier... when are you planning on leaving?", he asked knowing that wasn't something you just ask a pirate but at the same time he did make his mom cry earlier just by trying to mention odelia,"And what are these test?", said jim trying to change the subject as quickly as possible in hopes he could do the test first before having to face his own mother;. |

☠.. them that dies will be the lucky ones ..☠Ship: 'The Lady of Fortune' Long John simply shrugged when Jim accused him of planning the situation "pirate" he simply said then smirked "but we don't plan on leavin till dawn, give her time to think ... an' who knows, she might just see some pirates, real pirates do have honor ... and believe me lad, a man without honor, pirate or no, ain't worth salt" he said then looked out to the beach "well, if ya wanna sail on a pirate ship tis best you show yer skills at what might be needen. first o'course would be ship related: gettin yer sea legs, knowin how ter properly tie rope, sure ya got yer fishin boats but a ship is an entirely different matter. Next: how well ye can handle a firearm; loadin, aiming, shootin. targets of course. don' worry, nothin livin ... an last be the important part: skills with a cutlass, in which you duel any member of me crew, not to the death o'course but disarmin" he said then looked at Jim's face in contemplation "if ye be thinkin ya can do all that ... then speakin to yer ma shouldn't be too hard" he said before straightening back up and squeezed his shoulder "an' i doubt she be more ferocious as me wife, Madi ... why when i met her lad, it was as if the sea had stirred every storm it could in one form ... in one fist" he said with a kind smile "my former Cap'n: Flint and the crew ended up on an island where many runaway slaves had found refuge, bein Flin's Quartermaster at the time i dealt with the Queen of said village and, incidentally, her daughter; Madi ... i said we washed up on their shore on accident, and they believed me as much as i think yer ma believes we're honest folk ... but Madi could tell i cared for the crew. and so, after three days, the queen offered a chance for us to prove we meant no ill will, in which we helped them live by getting supplies for them to survive .... that was back when Flint was actually a decent sort. before he decided pirates should be at war with the Crown" he said and shook his head "ah, but i'm ahead of meself ... if ye end up bein shipmates with Long John, i might tell ye more stories if ye wish, in fact i just might tonight at the beach. bring a few of the crew inland so they can relax on land ... don' worry lad, they'll not dare to try anythin here" he said patting his flintlock "speakin of, i might need to see what yer merchants have to cook but we can see about that later" |
