With the tree's release, Misty nearly stumbled backwards back into the real world and away from that bog once more. Shaking her head slightly to clear the cobwebs from her mind, she looked around. Everything was the same, for the most part. She stood still at the base of the tree, she didn't feel all that different besides the odd cold feeling and the area smelling of rain. Was that it? Really? Well that wasn't as bad as she had thought, but still seemed like a waste of time. Flicking her tail, Misty turned away from the tree and headed away from it. There was a small hop to her step as she left, not really leaving so much of a 'thanks' to the tree. After all, it was just a tree.
From the plateau she went, back down to were the sun beat on the ground sucking away all moisture and life. Stopping as the heat hit her, she thought of her ability, Mist. Fitting, since her name WAS Misty. A snort of a laugh erupted from her muzzle as she through hard on this concept. With another laugh to herself, Misty started awalking again, why was all this just one large case of Ironic.
"How did I end up with such an ability, was that tree just trying to be funny?" she wondered as she pondered it over.
Stopping a moment, she looked around at the open space, there seemed to be no one around. Was now the perfect time to test out her ability? She knew it would cause fog or a mist to vale her from sight. But surely there would be a different purpose to it as well. From the sounds of it, she could case the ability and cool an area for a small amount of time... That was a theory anyways.
"Perhaps closer to Homewood or something I will try." She didn't like the idea of passing out in the barrens again... Last time she had become lucky to find something that was considered shelter from the heat.
After walking most the time in the heat, sweat coating her skin like a wet blanket, she stopped and grumbled to herself. She hated the barrens so much, just about as much as she hated the bog. Why did everything have to be so horrible outside Homewood?
Snorting slightly she closed her eyes and attempted to call mist into the air around her. Her horn giving a faint blue/gray as she tried. At first it didn't seem to do anything, was it perhaps too hot here for such a thing. But slowly, ever so slowly a faint white mist started to form around her hooves. Sadly due to the heat, it didn't rise any higher and faded away fast.
Panting she stopped, looking down at the mist she had managed to create. Well, at least her hooves would be cooler... And then the mist was gone and the heat moved right back in again. Stomping, she would have liked it to have worked a little more then that, but for the most part it had worked... To an extent.
"Well.. That worked a little... At least..." She panted shaking her head to knock the sweat away from her eyes. =brown]"Now to stagger my way out of this place."
Yea, it wasn't the best idea she had ever thought of, but at least she was successful... Kinda. Staggering from one side to another she did finally make it to a safe-ish place to just flop on the ground beside a small stream that ran through Homewood. The moss cushioned her fall as her legs folded upon themselves. Perhaps that was a little too soon to try, specially in the wrong environment. She would kick herself later when she wasn't half dead from the heat and lack of water, which she quenched her thirst from the stream to her side.
"Ok, made it, kinda. On the edge anyways, but never going to try that again out there." She looked back out towards the parched lands of the barrens with blurry eyes. Or it was just the heat vapors that were ever rising off the ground and sucking the life out of everything around. "Not sure where else this will be useful. Not sure if there will be any fights I will get into." At least she was hoping that there will never be any fights. She hated fighting...
Laying her head on the ground she gave a heaving sigh. The branches over head were shading her from the sun, the grass itself smelt lovely as she started to drift off to sleep. Even better the small babbling stream lulled her to sleep. This day was too... Exhausting...
