Snow on the ground glistens under the moonlight and seems to illuminate everything with an ethereal glow. Destiny City feels almost safe, even at night. The fresh fallen snow seems undisturbed and brings a sense of peace. Only, there’s something eerie about it. After a while, it feels like someone--or something--is watching you. In the shadows of the trees, a set of milky eyes watches. Whatever it is, it’s tall and bulky. If you walk quickly, you feel it follow you but once you leave the line of trees, it disappears. If you try to approach it, a great beast will screech at you: a six foot tall snowy white owl takes flight. It may tackle or claw at you, depending on how you approach it, but it will always take flight and disappear in the night. If you choose to attack it, for the next few nights any time you look out your window you will see glowing eyes in the distance--or worse, hear it scratching to get in. Eventually, the temperature rises and the visits stop. For now.
The snow crunched under her feet as the senshi of vampires made her way across the snow covered ground. It glistened and shone under the moonlight and had the senshi feeling at peace, as it was so soft and silent out. It was almost magical and the darkly dressed senshi didn’t want to disturb things- didn’t want to even leave tracks in the snow. She was tainting it all with her footsteps but it couldn’t be helped, sadly.
As she continued her walk dark blue eyes started to roam about the area. Something was starting to feel off...too quiet. Something was wrong? She wouldn’t call it some of senses that she had, she felt like she hadn’t been a senshi long enough for that, but she had lived in this city long enough to know when something was wrong.
That was perhaps why she took the time to stop walking and just look around, twisting and turning this way and that, she spotted it. Eyes, at least they looked like eyes, staring at her from the darkness. What those eyes belonged to she didn’t know but she was prepared, at least she thought she was, she didn’t feel anything magical about whatever was watching her. That didn’t mean a whole lot though, not in this city.
Stepping closer, keeping her steps slow and cautious, the senshi of vampires made her approach and what she wasn’t expecting happened. She soon knew just what had been watching her - a massive owl. That couldn’t be the normal size of an owl! There was no way and in her shock, as it leapt into the air with a loud hoot, that she was keeping on her feet. Landing on the ground the senshi of vampires grabbed up a ball of snow and tossed it towards the owl. “Damn thing! Shoo!” Creepy as hell and, unknown at the moment, not a smart idea to throw something at the bird.
It seemed the owl wasn’t pleased being hit with snow as it turned off course, to wherever it had been going, and turned on the senshi and dived at her. Clawing at her as she moved to cover her face from the razor like claws. Yelling and shouting she flapped an arm about blindly until the bird seemed satisfied and was gone into the night. Left behind was messed up hair, a few pieces would be left in the snow tonight, rips in her clothing and looking like she’d gotten into quite the fight. That bird was not small and certainly could hold its own.
“Damn it.” Breathing hard she climbed to shaking feet and shook herself. “I better get home.” And get cleaned up. She looked a mess and she felt like a bit of a wreck after that. She had gotten a good look at the bird, through her arms here and there, and she was going to look it up when she got home. She was sure that wasn’t the normal size for such a bird.
