The Yakume bookstore is owned by Yakume Rei, and his two gehaka; and his single Gehaka son, Toshi. The store itself is a small, well-kept building. When you open the door, the smell of fresh tea brewing hits your nose, a delicate scent not quite enough to override the small of paper and leather-bound books. Rei himself is a small, pale haka with almost white-blonde hair. He greets you as you enter, and one of his three staff members immediately hurry over to you to see how they can assist you, and offer you a small cup of tea while you peruse the books., that line the walls in neat little rows.

Toshi was shelving books, his long yellow hair pulled back from his tanned face as he focused on shelving the books neatly in alphabetical order, tongue between his teeth, humming lightly. He enjoyed this part of his job, he could flip through and see what new books they had gotten in, that he may be interested in reading. His mother had raised him carefully, since he was the only child, and he was intent on getting Toshi a good marriage. So Toshi had been fed these books, almost since he'd opened his eyes. His mother had made sure he was an able accountant, and his fathers had made sure he was adequate with a weapon. Unfortunately, he knew none of the little housekeeping details, but he'd read books on it, to try and learn.

Unfortunately, he didn't attempt to put those skills to use, as his mother had other need of him. But maybe one day, if he married someone he valued, he would be able to try those skills, to please his love. That was it. Someday.

Paper, leather, and the slight smell of tea leaves brewing flooded his nose, as he stepped daintly into the shop. The young Haka eyes closed; the smell reminded him slightly of the forge. Well, the leather at least. It was a good smell with friendly past memories.

He opened his jade eyes, glazing around the neat store and uttered," Thank you," as he was greeted and offered a small cup of tea. He took it carefully, waveing off the help. "I just want to look."

Shinku walked slowly around the shop, sipping his tea. The Haka hazel tips ears flickered as he heard humming. Brother sang in the forge as he worked. Sei had said that it was a sign of enjoyment when he inquisitivly asked why and had ruffled his hair. He looked up at the tanned Gehaka watching him hum as he went though the books. "Konichiwa*"

*Hello, (ooc:IF I spelled it correctly.)

User ImageToshi almost dropped the book he was poring over when he heard a voice speak to him. "Oh, my apologies!" he said, and gave a polite bow, making certain the books didn't tumble out of his grasp, wings spread for balance. "Konnichi wa. Is there something I may help you with today?" Toshi quickly shelved the books, making note of the titles. He'd come back and read them. He took note that the haka's tea was almost emptied, and asked "May I get you more tea, sir?"

He eyed the haka in front of him. Moderately wealthy, perhaps. Well-groomed. Lovely eyes. He gave another bow, waiting for the haka's answer.

Shinku glanced at his tea cup and nodded. "Yes, I was looking for info on the kitsune and unicorns." He said softly. If his mother didn't know about the fairy tales then he couldn't take him away. He would have to hide them in his special spot with his new Tessen fan he recived from brother. "Would you know where they would be?"

Toshi smiled softly. "Right this way, sir." he said, and led the haka over to the area devoted to legends and fairy tales. "We don't have a specific area devoted to legends, they are all mixed up in here, I'm afraid." He bowed again. "Now, with your permission, I'll go get you a fresh cup of tea." he smiled at the haka, eyes light.

Shinku followed the Gehaka with dainty steps. His green eyes lite up as he took in the books. He restrained the urge to squeel and jump up and down in excitement. "That is fine, I can find what I am looking for," he said, planning to browse though as many books as he could.

He blinked turning around and held out the small tea cup. "You may go. Thank you," he said giving a small little smile.

Toshi took the cup and with a bow, hurried away. He hurried back to the small kitchen-area, making a fresh pot of tea when he saw the old pot was growing cold, and poured a cup, taking it back out to the haka, and vanishing to continue his work. If the haka needed him, he would be found stocking more books- or reading them.

Shinku waved his hand for the Haka to set the little tea cup down. He was already burrying his noise into a book of tales his green eyes bright. He closed the book setting it down and picked up a other.

Aya chanted inwardly to himself as he made his way across the town towards his intended destination. The Yakume Shoten. It hadn't taken the young Haka very long to find out the exact location of the bookshop that Toshi's mother owned. There were a few bookshops in this town but only one that was ran by the Yakume family.

If there was anything that Aya could be glad for at this point in time, it would have to be his good memory as well as the efficacy with which the Gehakas in his household had managed to find out what he needed by the time he had changed into a simple violet kimono that matched the shade of his eyes.

None of the Gehakas had ever seen their young master in such a hurry before. It was a good thing that they had remained silent instead of asking the reason behind the sudden change out of concern though, else they might have been treated to the sight of one very angry and snappy Aya. Not a very fine sight to behold even if they had yet to have a close encounter with thus far.

Stopping at the entrance of the Yakume Shoten so that he could catch his breath a little, Aya smiled lightly to himself as he retrieved Toshi's book from within his kimono. So this was where Toshi worked at huh? It was a small bookshop just like the Gehaka had said, but Aya knew more than to judge a shop by its appearance.

Tightening his hold on Toshi's book a little, Aya took a deep breath before entering the shop. It was kinda strange but just the mere thought of being able to see the blond Gehaka again was enough to make him happy. That was yet another first for him...

User ImageToshi glanced up at the tinkle of the bell, hurrying into the back room to make sure the tea was warm and still fresh enough before pouring it into a small cup and carrying it out to whomever was at the front. "Hello." he said softly, turning the corner carefully. His eyes widened a bit as he recognized the haka, and he bowed carefully. "Aya-sama, welcome to the Yalume Shoten." he bowed politely and held out the small cup of tea. "Would you like some tea, Aya-sama?"

He wouldn't know what he would do if the blond Gehaka happened to be out of the shop and another Gehaka attended to him instead. It would probably seem somewhat odd to have to ask about Toshi and the Fujimiya clan Haka was beginning to be rather glad that he did not have to be put through that sort of situation.

Nodding his head slowly a few times, Aya stretched his hand out for the cup of tea that was being offered, taking this brief moment to gather his thoughts before he held out Toshi's book in his other hand.

"I... I came to return your book. You must have forgotten about it when you left earlier..."

Toshi bit his lip, smiling gently at the haka. He accepted the book and flipped open the cover, handing it back to the haka. "You must have missed this." he said gently. At the moment, the tea kettle went off, and Toshi glanced back. "Just a moment please." he said with a polite bow, and hurried off to check the tea, leaving the haka to examine the handwriting in peace.

Click to show.Violet orbs began to widen a little at the sight of the neatly handwritten message that Toshi had left for him on the inner cover of the book. Aya read the message again and again. Almost not daring to believe that Toshi had actually found him pleasant. The message had been short, simple and to the point. Yet, the young Haka felt somewhat comforted by the words within.

Taking a sip of his tea, the red-haired Haka mulled over his thoughts for a bit in silence, violet eyes no longer focused on the handwritten words for the moment. Those words... they're not supposed to mean anything. Right..?

Toshi was shaking as he got back to the kitchen. So busy shaking that he reached out and grabbed the hot tea kettle with his bare hand off the stove. He gave a low scream, tea kettle clanging to the floor as he grabbed his hand. Tea splashed all over the kitchen floor as he sank into a crouch, clutching his hand. There was already a huge red blister forming, and he closed his eyes, trying to distance himself. What did he need?

He let his hand fall into a cool bucket of water, glancing around the kitchen. There was ointment in the cabinet, if he could get to it without slipping on the tea and burning himself more.
