It took him a few days to cycle through his emotions and take enough deep breathes before he texted Toby to meetup again. It wasn't the man's fault for being concerned for his safety, but he was still bitter about it. To combat this, he decided they would meet in the open at a cafe.
In humanoid form, he was not dressed in his usual powered attire but a sweater, jeans, boots, and a open black jacket. Glasses off, he had his beanie set on the table and ears out. Eccentric but otherwise ignored. The star on his forehead was discolored by foundation to hide the marking.
Pleased with his appearance, he sat at a table with his cinnamon swirl latte and a tablet.

Toby was quite happy to hear from Arthur, even if it had been a few days. He was more than a little worried that he'd permanently messed things up...so naturally he jumped at the chance to go chat. He found his way to the cafe Arthur found. When he spotted the Mau, he was only slightly surprised to see him just sitting there like that, but quickly brushed it off and slipped into the chair across from him. "Maybe I should start wearing cat ears," he said cheerfully, as a sort of greeting, "With how little everybody seems to bat an eye about it!" He laughed, smiled, and said, "It's good to see ya again, Arthur! I'm...Sorry about what I said before." MoonKitsune So sorry I sat on that so long! D: I didn't really do much RP all last month, and now I'm recovering. Should be able to stay on top of things again...

He looked up from the screen and shrugged. "I saw a man dressed as Spiderman when I took the bus. In this big of a city, it isn't a big concern. I do wears hat but they were hurting my ears and I know I can't hear well with them on." He gestured to the beanie on the table. Cat ears were fine but if he could hide them without issues, he would.
"How have you been? Anything new?" He asked as he set the tablet down a moment. "You want to order something first?"

“Oh, not too much new, really,” Toby replied with a shrug. “Just sorting things out, going to school, usual stuff.” Training with senshis, too, but non-specificity was always a good idea... “Oh yeah, I should get some tea, maybe a pastry...any suggestions?”

"If you are getting tea then my suggestion is anything but tea." He said, and sipped his large to turn the tablet and tap the screen, leaving Toby to go off and decide whatever he wanted.
Despite Arthur telling himself to be civil, he still felt a bit cold to the man. "I'll be here waiting " He added, not looking up from the screen.

“Uhm, okay,” Toby replied, standing up. “I’ll be back...” He sounded a bit hurt, although he still smiled and waved. A few minutes later, he returned...with a fancy cold latte shake thing, and a chocolate croissant. He slid back into the seat. “Everything alright, Arthur?”

He set the tablet down again slowly and looked at him.
"You tell me. Do you currently feel in fear for your life at the moment? Could be dangerous sitting with me." He said, looking over at him with a lukewarm expression.

Toby blinked a couple times, then he looked down and his shoulders slumped. "I guess I deserved that, huh?" he said after a moment. He kept looking down as he said, "I'm really sorry about that, you're right, it's not really any more dangerous than doing anything else in this crazy city."

"You never had a issue meeting me before, so when you said that, it really hurt me. Worse of all, it was in front of a new senshi who is looking to you as an example of how a senshi behaves. You basically told him I was a danger to be around and that I needed his protection. I know I may appear like a small animal to you, but I want to make it clear that my welfare is my business. Not yours. I know the risks I take when I go shopping and cafes like this. You understand the risks you take meeting me here. It's no different then what happens when I was around on two legs than four."
He set the tablet flat again to give him his full, sharp attention. "We are both adults. I may be weak compared to a senshi but I don't like to be treated with kid gloves. If you have issues with me, I want to hear them. As for my personal life, this person sitting here may be here to talk business but I do have a personal life I wish to have. When people invite me to eat at places, I like to feel included and treated equally."
"I do not have the luxury of everyone else to have another place I can magically go to and call my own. My species is rare so I have no choice but to try and connect to people. To humans I have very little to call my own other than what I make of on this planet. I am trying to learn what that means. To make mistakes. That requires that I take risks."
He breathed out. "I know you didn't mean to hurt me, but you successfully alienated an alien." He said, watching him.
"I have to ask. Why did you say that? Are you worried for me now? Is there something you want to tell me?"

Toby listened, eyes wide, as Arthur laid out his thoughts. There were a couple things he wanted to remark upon, but waited, looking slightly more hurt and confused as time went on. "Worried for you?" Toby echoed, and then shook his head. "No, not in the least...never was." He paused for a brief moment to take a breath. "No, I was worried for me, and other senshis." He pursed his lips and leaned forward, frowning now. "Whatever you may think, Arthur, I am just a kid, thrown into this craziness, and doing what I can." He tapped the table insistently as he went on. "We have no direction. No support beyond what's at this table, and we've gotta deal with," he paused, clearly wanting to shout, but held back, and hissed out instead, "Monsters and magical lunatics bent on stealing everyone's souls." "I am scared, Arthur. So much. Always." He shook his head. "I do what I do all the time to push that away. If other people are as good as me at doing this whole magic fighting thing, then we'll all be safer." He pointed at Arthur, then. "But you know perfectly well we aren't. I wake up every day wondering if someone else I know is going to get eaten by a monster or get their soul ripped out." "So don't you dare accuse me of living a life of carefree luxury." He leaned back finally, and let out a heavy sigh, head rocking back and hand thumping to the table again. "God, I wish I did. I should. I'm not even done with school yet."

"Of course I know that. It's why were are working together because there is no leadership or help. I never said your life was carefree. I know you risk everything. I have a major hand in bringing children into a world they never asked for or wanted. I have seen that resentment from those I've awakened wishing they had been left alone and ignorant. Accusing me of ruining their peace with a responsibility beyond the scope of what they can handle."
He leaned in. "Do you think that the name guardian means we have all the answers? I don't. I swear I wish every day something would unlock in the recesses of my mind from some ancestor and hair tell me how I can help keep you all alive. I have lost too many."
He went quiet, and his tone and demeanor faltered.
"I don't want to have you feel this unsafe in the world, but I'm just as lost as you are. The only thing I can do is help any way I can and show all those new and afraid senshi that someone is in their corner the moment they need help."
He looked around, quieter now as he looked back at him.
"That's why I am going out to the woods soon to get the supplies I need to become a senshi."

"I don't think you have all the answers," Toby replied, still scowling. "I just think it is much easier for you to get away from murderous psychopaths if you can drop out of sight than it is for me." He didn't have anything else to say...until the mention of becoming a senshi. At which point his indignation was overtaken pretty effectively by startled confusion. "Wait, what? How...would the woods help you do that?" He was just imagining bugs, trees, and frogs, for the most part.

"And if I'm caught, I can't punch or hit someone like you could. My neck can get snapped easier than yours." He pointed out to him. "And agents can teleport. Doesn't matter how fast I can run." It wasn't like he had a magic escape button that made it easier on him to run away.
"I can't get to Mau. For that, I don't have my actual celestial body to attach myself too like you would yours. So instead, I'm doing it artificially. Soon there will be a meteor shower and Destiny is notorious for having them land in the woods. There is a high chance one will fall in the next few weeks. Since it's winter, no sight seers will be out. I'm going to use a tracking device from a fellow Mauvian to help me pinpoint the location of one if it makes its decent here. From what the other guardians have told me, it's almost guaranteed." He said, turning the tablet over to show him the map of the woods and the documents his fellow Mauvians and a few scientific readings from Destiny City's very own scientist (though not with their permission.)
"If...you want to come, I wouldn't mind." He tentatively offered.
"With a piece of it, I should be able to work something out based on what other guardians have done."

"It's true, but, you know, if you get found out, the negaverse can't exactly..." he stopped there, and shook his head. "Nevermind." He sighed. "Of course I'll help, Arthur. I'd really love to see how making your own senshi power works...and, of course, the more of us with senshi powers, the safer we all are."

"That's the idea. To not have all of you be without that extra help. Though, I probably will need some help adjusting to senshihood. Can't imagine where I'd find someone with experience in that to help." He lightly joked, trying to move past the previous mood.
"So, are you afraid being around me still? I can wear a hat of that eases your concerns of not meet you in person like this. I need you to tell me what could ease your concerns the most "
