- Medical Ninjutsu (医療忍術, Iryō Ninjutsu, Literally meaning: Medical Ninja Techniques) is a branch of ninjutsu associated with healing, as well as the manipulation of their own, or another's body, practised by shinobi categorised as "medical-nin". The use of medical ninjutsu requires very advanced chakra control, as well as extensive knowledge on such things as herbs, medicines, the human body and even poisons.
The knowledge of medical ninjutsu can be used for a variety of purposes apart from simply healing. It can be used to create poisonous gas, deranging the target's nervous system, or directly attacking a target with chakra scalpels. Tsunade, renowned as the greatest medical-nin in the world, was able to apply the extreme chakra control required for medical ninjutsu to create chakra-enhanced strength, an ability she taught to her student, Sakura Haruno.

xxxThe user performs surgery on a corpse to temporarily make its heart beat again. The user then uses their chakra to both control the body's movements and to hide all signs of the surgery, creating the appearance that the body is a live person.
✦ Delicate Illness Extraction Technique
xxxWhen a person has been afflicted by a pathogen or toxin, this medical ninjutsu can be used to draw out the agent and heal the damage. The cause of the illness is first determined by perceiving disturbances in the patient's chakra. Then, using a chakra scalpel, an incision is made near the affected part. Using their chakra, the medical-nin pushes a large volume of a medicinal fluid through the incision. The fluid then draws the poison out of the affected part(s) and serves as a medium through which the poison is suspended and then forced out of the person's body. This technique thus removes the poison, while simultaneously repairing the damage caused by the poison. The process itself is extremely painful and requires the subject to be restrained in order for the process to work. As such, it is considered a rather crude method to deal with pathogens and toxins, and only used in emergency. This technique only draws out most of the poison, not all of it, so the subject can potentially still be in danger, albeit not immediate. To fully treat the subject, an antidote is needed.
After the agent is drawn out, it can be used to create an antidote or medicine after it has been analysed. This can then be given to the patient to ensure a complete recovery. This technique requires the utmost care and ability in diagnosis, incising and unmatched chakra control. Therefore, it is considered an extremely difficult technique, even among medical-nin.

xxxThis technique combines ninjutsu, chemistry, and medical knowledge, thus requiring fine chakra control and advanced ability in medical ninjutsu. The user converts chakra in their body into a special chemical that they then exhale from their mouth. When the chemical comes into contact with the air, it becomes a cloud of poison. Breathing in even a small amount of the poison will cause immediate death.

xxxThe user can form giant insect-like claws on their arms made of water, extending the range of attack. One can also apply chakra flow through the claws akin to the chakra scalpel, increasing the attack's sharpness and thus penetrative force.

xxxThe user creates water mosquitoes, that can be used to nullify poison in a target's body. The full extent of this technique was not seen, but it is apparently very painful when applied.
✦ Medical Water Release: Jellyfish
xxxBy applying jellyfish to a person's form in advance, the jellyfish can store up and spread chakra throughout its host to allow for quick recovery from a recent injury. This technique appears to drain the jellyfish completely as it can only be used once.

xxxThis is a high-level form of medical ninjutsu that only Tsunade has been shown to have mastered. Tsunade creates an electric field by giving her chakra the properties of electricity. When she strikes a target with her hand, the electricity pours into their nervous system and rearranges their body's signals. Ordinarily, the brain sends electric signals to the body to control how it moves. But when under the influence this technique, these signals will produce any movement other than what the brain intends. When used against most opponents, they will be unable to do something as simple as walking, much less continue fighting.
This technique allows the user to survive any otherwise normally fatal damage and instantly heal from the damage. A unique trait of this technique is that it can momentarily give the user the appearance of death, fooling even the most talented medical-nins.
✦ Chakra Scalpel
xxxThis medical technique forms one's chakra into a small, sharp blade. This can then be used for highly accurate incisions necessary for surgeries and anatomical dissections. Unlike regular scalpels, the chakra scalpel can make cuts inside the body without actually creating an open wound, limiting the risks of an infection.
The chakra scalpel can also be used offensively, although it requires great precision to be effective. Because of this requirement, using the chakra scalpel offensively is highly unusual. In heated combat, even the greatest medical-nin won't be able to exert the precision needed to make fatal cuts, but it can still effectively cut muscle tissues and tendons, rendering the target immobile.
✦ Healing Resuscitation Regeneration Technique
xxxThis is a medical ninjutsu that is used to heal severe, life-threatening injuries. To perform, it requires a full intensive care unit, staffed by medics with refined chakra control. The procedure lasts many hours, requiring the constant attention of the medics on staff and inevitably, requiring backup shifts to replace medics who have tired out. Because of how difficult the procedure is, there is a very low chance of actually saving the patient. The patient is placed in the center of the floor. A large, complicated technique formula is drawn around them, focused around the injury to be healed. A sample of the patient's cells, such as a lock of their hair, is placed near the injury, to be used as a medium for the procedure. Medics take position around the formula's perimeter, notably the corners, and work together to change the medium's cellular makeup, converting it into whatever cells are required for mending the wound. This is where the technique's greatest difficulty lies, as medics must be careful to form the correct cell and then just as carefully apply it to the regenerating injury.
✦ Mystical Palm Technique
xxxThe user applies their hand to the afflicted or wounded part of the body and sends chakra into it, accelerating the body's natural healing abilities. Although its most obvious use is as a way of treating external wounds, it can also be used for internal illnesses. Users must be careful to only use as much chakra as is needed for the specific injury. If too much chakra is sent into the body, this can disrupt the body's circulation, putting it into a comatose state.
✦ Cell Activation Technique
xxxUsed only in the most dire of surgical procedures to increase the patient's survival rate, if even only by a single percentage, this technique employs a great level of refined chakra control to activate all the cells in the patient's body simultaneously. This causes their body to start repairing itself while the medical-nin is operating; restoring damaged tissues and bone structures while healing the patient during more invasive and delicate procedures.
✦ Yin Healing Wound Destruction
xxxThe user analyses an opponent's facial expression, movements, and the properties of their jutsu to anticipate where and how he will be attacked. He then gathers chakra to the area of his body where the attack will strike, preemptively starting medical treatment in order to minimize the damage he'll receive. The more extensive the damage, the more chakra it takes to heal. In addition to needing to correctly read the opponent and react in time, users require great resilience in order to perform the jutsu

xxxThe Creation Rebirth was invented by Tsunade with the resolution to protect the lives of her comrades. By releasing a large amount of chakra at once, the body's cell division is forcibly stimulated. Whenever the body's tissues are damaged or an organ is destroyed, the injury will instantly heal regardless of the severity. So long as Creation Rebirth remains active, the user cannot die, earning it recognition as the "pinnacle of medical ninjutsu" and the "ultimate regeneration technique."

xxxThe Body Revival Technique is a high-level medical ninjutsu. The principles of this technique is to take advantage of the muscles' ability to grow stronger after repairing itself from damage. Understanding this theory, the Body Revival Technique can repair the user's body and increase its strength by manipulating the "Destruction and Rebirth" cycle of the muscles.
✦ Ninja Art Creation Rebirth — Strength of a Hundred Technique
xxxThe Ninja Art Creation Rebirth — Strength of a Hundred Technique is a forbidden technique that is only accessible to those who have mastered the Creation Rebirth technique. While very similar in nature to its parent technique, which also regenerates the user's wounds via accelerated cell division, the Strength of a Hundred Technique has a continuous, automatic effect that will heal any damage that the user sustains instantly without the need to make hand seals or even a conscious effort to activate the healing process as long as they have chakra left. Use of the technique also requires the release of the Strength of a Hundred Seal, but rather than just covering the face, the markings extend over the user's entire body.
