Info: An older more traditional style of building that has had many renovations due to just natural disasters, grim, and other issues. The inn use to be a place where hunters came to rest and settle before moving on to their next step of the journey. Now, it's been remodeled into an average size home for Kai to live in. He ended up making part of it himself, going into the outskirts and cutting wood and lumber for parts of the inn. Every now and again, the building may squeak or make noises due to one's footing and sometimes does it on its own. Ironically enough, he doesn't have any future plans on getting the squeaking problem fix. He seems to enjoy it. The place is located more near the rural end of Vale but still a good distance away from the outskirts.

Yanari: Translates to house squeaker. Yanari are miniature oni which appear in houses late at night. They appear most often in wooden houses — especially those of cheap or new construction in which all of the parts have not had time to settle yet. They often carry miniature weapons or tools, such as mallets or iron clubs. Kai named the building after the Yanari because of the constant squeaking that occurs in the structure.

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

After a little while of walking, she spotted the house and stumbled to the front door of it. Weakly, she would knock on the door. She knew that the person wouldn't probably hear her, but she kept knocking. She needed rest and to be checked for a concession. She noticed that the floors outside did squeak a bit. Maybe the home owner heard her come onto the porch. Either way, she would start to drift off right there on the porch. It was the pain
plus the exhaustion making it hard for her to stay conscious. "I just hope my girls will be okay." Was the last thing she mumbled before she was out cold on the porch of a stranger.

The sight upon him as he inched closer and closer caused for him to pause. What was this? Friend or foe? A straggler? It seemed that today was just going to continue to be something of interest. His emerald eyes scanned the woman below that laid sleep. Was she injured? Was she a runaway? He wasn't sure. He would end up picking up the red haired woman, the squeaks announcing each step as he unlocked the door and let her in. Placing her on the couch, he would leave out some water for her as well on the coffee table before leaving her to be. He had a long day and she seemed to had a long day too. He would press for information in the morning.

This was unusual. He wouldn't care most of the time but he was in a vulnerable state. The red eyed maiden flashed into his brain. What did it mean? Did it mean she was around? Did she die? Was he just still mentally scarred from Vacuo's
fall and didn't know it. He wasn't sure. Time would pass and the warrior would end up clean and exhausted. He rested in his room and quickly went to sleep. For morning, a new journey was going to begin. The in squeaked periodically. The

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

Jacqueline had no idea that the owner of the home had found her passed out on the porch of their home. Not only did they find her, but she wasn't dressed. She was in her undergarments with a see thru night gown on that was snagged from being thrown into the tree. There were so many things that could happen to her, but they showed her kindness and picked her up and brought her inside. Even though she had no idea what was happening, she felt safe and that was more than she could ask for in this moment.

As the morning came, her body felt heavy. Sitting up was a challenge, but she eventually was upright. Looking around, she was confused about where she was and didn't remember where she ended up after leaving the tree house. Her guard was up for sure. Spotting the bottle of water, she did take a drink of it. Slowly removing herself from the sofa, she would go into the kitchen of the home. There had to be food in this place. For sure, there was. Taking out things, she would start to make some breakfast. Hopefully whoever the homeowner was would awake for pancakes, bacon, and eggs.

❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞

The smell of something cooking that wasn't infused with sugar was foreign to the very home. The smell wasn't what woke him. It was just the general bearing feeling that someone was in his home. He would of been up sooner but he
was more tired than he realized. Emerald hues would pierce. the darkness. A slight crack or 2 of bones filled the air in a stoccato pattern signalling the awakening of their master. Rising out of the bed, the blonde hair male would quickly get dressed before starting to head towards the source.

Coming into the kitchen, he would see the red haired woman who was cooking an impressive breakfast. One he usually doesn't eat or create. It was ironic. He had groceries but barely used them.It would be weird eating something actually...healthy. But why? "I'm pretty sure someone who is taken into the home doesn't normally go through a person's belongings and start cooking food. "

How ungreatful? Probably. He was just a mixture of annoyed, tired, and
slightly confused. It was an option he never would guess. Who goes through
someone kitchen like a little chef and just cook? A thankyou probably would
of been easier for the blonde male. Now he had to eat the food because he was
not about to let it go to waste. Though, he probably would be singing a different
tune. Depends on how diabetic the pancakes are. If like actual cakes, then Jackie
was going to get away with it.

Feeling his head still hurting a little, he sighed and just went to sit at the table.
He didn't touch any of the food at all. He instead, was more interested in something else. "So, Why exactly was you curled up outside of my door? Town probably was too far I am assuming? If so, then you shouldn't of been playing in the outskirts. Huntress?" He was only making an assumption. He knew shew as armed. He saw the blades that was on her but he felt no fear. Huntress, mercenary, or simply just a woman who had swords for self defense, he did not care. He just wanted answers. Hopefully she was fine with providing them.

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

When the owner of the home did enter the kitchen. Jacqueline stopped making her pancake mix for a moment. Looking at him, it was odd, but the feisty red head just went back to what she was doing. A normal person would have stopped cooking with such and ungrateful attitude being displayed, but she wasn't normal anyway. Continuing on with what she was making, her demeanor remained calm as if she was at home. Pouring her pancake mix into the pan, she would start on her eggs and bacon. On the side her had sliced strawberries and maple syrup. As the breakfast items became done, she would plate them and place them on the table.

Having had breakfast done, she would turn on the coffee pot allowing it to brew them some fresh coffee as she sat down. Her guard was still up, but she was trying to say thank you the best way she could. Jacqueline wasn't known for verbal thank yous. She just do something nice and hope message was received. In all reality, she was making food for her babies. He didn't have to get anything, but she figured she was going through his things, she would make whoever lived there a plate too.

She knew the questions where going to be coming her way and she was ready for them. As she started to eat, she would listen to make sure she had an complete answer for him. "Let's see where to start with answering you." Getting up, she poured herself some coffee. "The only reason I was outside your door was because I passed out from maybe a mild concession and exhaustion. Town was too far away." The next part made her scuff. Playing in the outskirts...Hahahahaha. That was freaking funny to her. "Playing in the outskirts? I don't play. I live there and a pissed off grim attacked my home last night. I had to flee. You're right. I am a huntress. I graduated from Atlas Academy years ago. Anything else you wanna know?" She asked before having a seat again to finish her breakfast. If he wanted coffee, he was going to have to get it himself.

❝Be Prepared, or expect Death's hand to grab you ❞

Silence continued. There wasn't a direct answer. The red haired woman would continue on her cooking adventure at least until. the conclusion of the meal came together. Once it's conclusion came, she would finally decide to speak up about what she was doing and how she came here. During this, Kai caught onto a detail that seemed odd to him. She made plates for four people. Who were the other two? He didn't think anyone else was in the house with them and he certainly didn't expect her to believe that they needed two plates to themselves each. The emerald eyed male was certainly going to question this indeed. Rather
he would be willing to accept the answer was going to be another story.

Her first response was not one he wanted. He rather she just get on with it instead of dragging everything out. He wanted answers and he wanted them promptly. He tapped his foot against the floor as she poured her coffee. Why is this woman taking so long to answer such a simple question? Is she slow? Is she mental? She already cannot set a meal out correctly and now she trying to
take several years just to give the reasoning why she was on a. stranger's door step.
His thoughts holding just how much of an annoyance this situation was becoming. She would finally get on with it.

"Injuries? Okay." he commented without any type of empathy. He. could at least kind of understand that part but at the same time he felt someone should know how to fight and protect themselves. It had better been a threat. At least a good one. When she said it. was just a pissed off grim, he looked at her with a hint of disgust. A pissed off grim. Just one grim? It better had been huge or
something because there is no way that a huntress. Especially one that graduated from Atlas should be so incapable that she couldn't handle just
one without getting majorly injured. As knocked out as she was on my
door step. I must say Atlas sounding more of a disappointment than what
the books portray and my memory holds from back when I was there.

While he was disgusted, he was also intrigued as she said she was from
                                                              Atlas. The mighty Atlas.

"Atlas woman being helped by a person of Vacuo. I must say, times have
really changed. Then again, It wouldn't surprise me. Atlas worried about
other things besides survival. As for Vacuo natives that the thing we excel
in. If you going to end up like this ever again then I suggest abandon such
an idiotic idea of living in the outskirts. Ironically enough, most shady
characters tend to venture and inhabit that region. I would ask are you
trustworthy but it personally doesn't matter as I doubt you have the skills
to even be a viable threat to me."
Blunt, cold, and calculating was his words.
They weren't meant to offend but to exemplify the truth that was presented
in front of him. Never mind he needed help from a grim during mission with Garret. Never mind he knew some grim are stronger than others and not just about the typing. It didn't matter to him. Her first impression to him was weakness, intrusion, and invasion of personal space. A pretty bad way to start.

Going to get his own cup of coffee, he would poor half a jar of sugar into the the
cup before stirring it making it more like a sugary hype trip than some rejuvenating cup of Joe. Placing the pot down, he would go and sit down at the table and would look at the other two plates that were there. A sip taken from the coffee as he looked down at the food. He was impressed. He wasn't going to say it or give her props for the food because he was that much of a you know what. Cutting into the pancakes on his plate, they were very fluffy. Very cake like. Very diabetic. He enjoyed it deeply even though his neutral stern face acted as a facade of the enjoyment that the food was bringing. Scanning towards the other plates, he looked at Jackie. "Why did you waste food by making two extra plates?"

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

Jacqueline wasn't really all that caring of what he though of her. She'd had a long day of work. Her rest was disturbed and she might have been off her game a bit, but weak was not the word to describe her at all. Try hard working, dedicated mother, and then he maybe somewhere in the correct ball park of whom she was as a person. She'd answered him and that was all that mattered. After breakfast was over, she was going in to town to get her a kimono and get on with her day. This was what it was, a thank you breakfast and she would be on her way.

His question was so emotionless and it didn't bother her one bit. With a roll of her eyes, she faked a smile. "I am perfectly fine. Thanks for asking." She said with all the sarcasm she could muster up. At the preset moment, she could tell he was just asking to ask. Not like he cared and she wasn't going to respond like she cared. Finishing up her food, she would put her plate in the sink. No, she wasn't going to wash the dishes. She didn't do dishes for assholes. He was lucky she thought to feed him.

Listening to his little spill, she didn't give a s**t about his advice. Plus all the s**t he was talking was going in one ear and out the other. She was a grown a** woman that could make choices for herself. In all honesty, if this was it was to get help form someone of Vacuo, he could have just left her a** on the porch. She would be on her way by now. Listening to someone degrade her, it was like a slap to her face. It did make her mad, but she was in his home. That was about to change very quickly as it was clear he was a shitty person. No, she was responding to someone shitting on her.

Getting ready to leave, he asked the question and she looked back at the plates. "It was just in case there was more than one person that lived here. Do what you will it. I don't care." With that, she was out the door and on her way to town. There was no way she was sticking around or giving him any insight to her mental health issues. With the way this has gone, she wish she would have just stayed in the tree house and risked another attack.

A Kai would come after Jackie but it wasn't the one that was in the inn. No, he could care less. There was someone else there. Someone who was actually trying to cause a little bit of trouble. A person who was trying to prove themselves. They had a task. A person task to take out as many huntsmen as they could. Before he could reach Kai's inn, there was a woman that was leaving. She seemed upset. Normally he would have not cared, but the weapons on her back told a different story. She was a huntsmen too? Two for one! Oh, his master was going to be happy about this!! Without warning, he would start to charge towards Jackie. From her perspective, she would be able to see a tall slinky figure charging towards her that had his face covered by a large straw hat. The scent of blood starting to make itself known to the area like a fresh spray from air freshener.

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

At least he wasn't a complete piece of s**t because as she walked out the door, he threw a kimono at her. Slamming the front door to the house closed, she would leave the torn up night gown on the porch as she dressed herself in the kimono. At least, she wouldn't be walking around exposed to perverts. Making her way to town, she would see her little girls running about playing. Then they disappeared and that just made her heart ache. When were the illusion going to stop haunting her? She didn't know, but she wished it would all go away.

As she continued on her way, someone strange had spotted her. Maybe they were on their way to see Kai. Good luck to them because he was a straight rude asshat. Getting closer, is when she got a rude awaking. He was....charging at her? OH s**t! He was charging at her. Taking out both her swords, she was ready to fight. She would go ahead and charge toward him. There was no way she was letting him strike her first. Blocking his strike with her left sword, she would attempt to swing her right sword simultaneously trying to get a slash at him before he could push her back.

This is going to be fun. She seems to be one of the more experienced hunters around here. No matter, I love the feeling of a fresh duel he would think as their blades clashed. Two loud collisions of metal would occur. The female wasn't the only one who could duel wield. The sheathed blade that was on his left hip was unsheathed just enough to where the length of the metal would be able to parry the attack that came at his side. Jumping back to gain some distance from the woman, he would re-sheath his second blade and would point out his blade that was in his right hand towards her. "Welcome darling. Seems Fate has brought you to my door step! Allow me to introduce myself. Mr. Okada. This is where your story ends. Don't need the infestation of you huntsmen messing up this already filthy town!" He was monologuing. While still keeping focus, the monologue was an opposing to try go for an attack if Jackie chose to take it. If she did not choose to take this option and just waited for him to finish speaking or went the route to try talk some sense into him, then Kai would continue onto the next set of actions.

Placing his other hand on the hilt of his blade, he would start to charge at her again. This time he was going for a flurry of slashes. They weren't really well thought out. The slashes had a pattern to it that made parrying the blades not too much of a hassle if one found the pattern. Even without the pattern, a good swordsman was going to be able to at least parry the assault without getting harmed too much. His pattern of attack was alternating between Downward strike, Righ horizontal strike, left horizontal strike, and upward strike. Of course, if Jackie decided to attack while he spoke, then his actions were going to be different and he wouldn't be able make the next move, but instead heaving to defend against what she had up her sleeve.

OOC: Not bad but remember add direction to your strike. The strike that you made after you blocked my attack didn't have a direction to it. While some would
ask in OOC for direction, this is not always the case as the the person who responding to the attack could leave it up to their interpretation . For this, I interpreted as strike to side towards Okada's mid section. Side note, he just charged and didn't swing so wasn't really anything to block. But not truly a big deal. This just training

Jacqueline wasn't in a rush, he could get his stupid speech out the way, but she was going to do everything she could to get out of this alive. It seems he was smart enough to block her mid-section strike. Huh? Fascinating, he has two swords as well. Oh we are doing introductions and threats. That is nice and all, but she could care less. "Such a monologist. Are we going to fight or you just going to flap your gums? I don't feel you need to know my name. Thanks for the introduction though." She would wait oh so patiently for his next more. It would be rude to "cut" him off.

Once he came at her again, she had to get the pattern because she was never a good swordsmen. Therefore she took a few cuts before she could comprehend what he was doing. Upward strike to counter downward, right to counter left. left to counter right, and down to counter up. The thing was he was fighting with one sword and she was combating with two. While the right was going all the countering, she was trying to take jabs at him with the left. She was trying to slash sideways digitally downwards to get him across the chest and abdomen. She was sure he wanted a fight not some sneak attack. Therefore, she would continue fighting him head on.

Monologues make everything great? Who would disagree? With his actions, he felt that with each passing moment he was getting closer and closer to getting the upper hand on the warrior before him. She was lacking in swordsman technique. It was showing clear as day along with the fear. Or was that annoyance? He had a very sensitive nose. The fresh blood smell becoming intoxicating to him from the fresh cuts that he was making during his assault. If only he could gain more! Unfortunately, the vermin in front of him was starting to catch on to the pattern of his attacks and was returning fire with her own counter. "Sloppy" he comments as he would change up the flow after receiving about a couple of cuts. Using angles to his advantage, he would only need to parry Jackie's strikes while continue making his own. The major strike that went for torso was blocked by his blade. He parried with his sword being slightly angled like one half of an X in order from keeping himself getting skewered. His counter attack to the parry wasn't with his blade but it was a hard kick to the chest that was intended to try either knock her down her push her back far.

❝Forgive, but don't forget.❞

This was a losing battle and the only way she knew how to win was transforming her weapon to what she knew best. That, however, would not make her stronger. This would. As foolish as it may have seemed, the huntress needed to become stronger where she'd been weak all her life. Sticking her swords into the ground, she would stop her momentum from being pushed backwards. Yanking them out of the ground, she would active her semblance. Charging at him, she would throw a explosive fire ball in his direction before coming with her own pattern of slashes, but mixing it up. right, left, up,down. down, right, left, up. She just kept attacking and changing the sequence. She was doing whatever she could to get an opening on him, but she knew chances are, she would fail.

The male was already going for the follow-up attack. He wanted his payment in flesh and blood. Unfortunately, Jackie would end up rebounding a lot faster than he expected. With the fireball being shot, he would tank the blast, the fire causing parts of his clothes to become burned. A crackle of aura showing up on his body. That did some damage, but not enough to take him down. Seeing Jackie's attack, he would crank the trigger of his blade, feeding ice dust into the blade. As Jackie came to attack, he would squat down into a spin clockwise. This would put his back towards Jackie as he would strike for her leg with his sword. If hit, the ice dust would cause her leg to be encaptured by ice and trapped to the ground. Bad side, he was in a bad position if he missed. Especially, if Jackie adjusted her attack to start swinging lower since he made his target smaller by squatting. Of course, even if he was successfully, he still needed to get out of her striking zone after.
