XXXXX Born a month early, his family welcomed Daichi with open arms and smiles. It was worrisome though that he came early, but his brother Kouji just smiled and said: "He's a Sarutobi. He won't die that easy. You can hear it in his cry. He's a fighter." Whether through sheer spirit or good doctors, Daichi soon cleared out of the hospital with a clean bill of health.
Born to two of the village's most loyal and skilled ninja, Daichi never felt like he couldn't have what he wanted. His parents tried to give him and his brother everything to distract them from feeling alone when they were away on missions. This left a rift between him and his family as he never felt like he really connected with them because of this. When he became of age to join the academy, he sprang at the chance. He hoped by joining he would better be able to understand his parents and connect with them.
While his early days were mostly academic and filled with attempts to make friends, It was his latter days at the academy where he shined most. It turned out he was extremely adept in combat training. So much so, that he blew past his parents scores. While this impressed his mother greatly, it worried his father. He was worried of what lie within Daichi. If he wasn't careful, he'd awaken the beast inside and be seen as a hazard to the village. If that were to happen, there's no guarantee that even he or his wife could save their son from the Raikage.
Growing up he had few friends, but they were well chosen. They would hang out, play games, go to the local pool in the summer, and share secrets.
Some secrets however, can be painful.
When he was 11 his friend Ayane had shared a horrid secret about her father. Normally she'd hide behind a smile, saying she tripped or ran into a door that someone else was opening. This time however, Daichi noticed she had cut her hair shorter than usual and wore a dress; the one thing she hated more than anything was girly stuff. That night Daichi learned a horrible lesson about people: Some are monsters. When he told his mother, she immediately left the table and called the police. Her father didn't make it through the night once her mother found out what had happened.
He also learned about ghosts. As his father put it: "In traditional belief, a ghost is a manifestation of the dead. They remain in the physical realm to avenge, help, or punish the living." His father seeing his determination to become stronger soon paid for Daichi to get some boxing lessons. Daichi swore he'd get strong for those who need someone to be strong for them. He'd fight the monsters. He'd become a ghost.
