All searching yields no results the cat is simply not there…perhaps this wasn’t such a normal occurrence after all!

it was a very warm night. Anneiliese was happy about that. She was making her way home from her usual craft store shopping trip. Her haul this time was small just a few pens and a journal. She didn't even need the journal it was unnecessary. But of course, she couldn't help herself. She saw the pretty design and just said to herself. "I have to have that." So of course it went into the shopping cart. She usually go down every aisle and look at everything. But the other day she had a heart to heart talk with herself about not spending too much money on things that she didn't really need. Plus it would just clutter her room. She didn't really need that in her life. She saw a couple episodes of that hording show. She didn't want to end up like those people. She told herself that she was just going to buy the items that she had came in the shop for and nothing else. She even made a vow to stop coming to the craft shop all the time and only once a month. A hard vow. A very hard promise to make but she told herself she was going to stick to it.
"What was it that I came for again?"
She tapped her chin. Yes that's right. She remembered, pens. There were these pens that she saw advertised in the craft store ad. She had looked them up and really had liked them. The ink was beautiful colors and they were all glittery. She unfortunately was only able to find four colors. They must have sold out.
She paid for her items and made her way out the store. She wanted to make two more stops before she headed home. She strolled down the sidewalk and took a look around. It was October and business were already preparing for Christmas. Putting up decorations already. Her mother would probably start on putting up decorations around the house. The Christmas tree would be taken out the basement soon and assembled and put together. Her mother always goes all out for Christmas. Annilise wasn't really forward to it. Her mother was doing all that for nothing. Her father wasn't coming home anytime soon. But her poor mother just kept keeping hope in her heart that he would walk back though the door.
She turned the corner to make her way to the bookstore. At first she didn't noticed it and almost walked into it. A cat. A black cat. She stopped and tried to side step it. It had a slight marking on it's forehead. That was not something new for her to see. She usually saw cats with the marking on their foreheads. It just looked at her. for some reason the hairs on the back of her neck started to stick up.
The cat then opened it's mouth. It looked as if it was trying to say something. No sound came out though. . She just looked dumbfounded at the cat. They both stared at each other for so long. The cat then turned and walked away, it stopped and looked back at her and seemed to nod it's head as if backing her to follow it.
She followed the cat for what seemed almost an hour. Don't ask her why she just did. Evertually her feet started to get tired.
Finally the cat stopped walking and turned toward her it stared at her for a long time before walking backwards towards the shadows and disappear altogether.
"What a strange cat. And where did it go.....?".
