Etamin held the binoculars up to his eyes, as he was watching the Negas work a shipment of something. He crouched behind a dirty crate, and had to do so in a way that his Kilt didn't creep up unexpectedly. Every few minutes, he would lower the binoculars and scribble something on his notepad. He was not expecting any guests.

With very little warning, the voice of a young child spoke from the shadows near Etamin: "Oh, now aren't you sneaky," it said playfully. "What a good hide-and-seek spot!" There was a giggle to punctuate that, although nobody emerged from the shadows, and there was no aura nearby.

Etamin jumped about six feet in the art. He hoped he didn't flash anyone with his kilt flying high, and as soon as he got to the ground, he de-discombobulated and then called out in a hushed tone of voice, "Get out of here kid, this is no place for a civilian child. It is dangerous."

“Oh, you talk kinda funny, Mister,” the voice replied. It was oddly low to the ground, although still quite in the dark. “Are you sure it’s safe for you to be here, if it’s sooo dangerous~?”

Etamin frowned. Something weird was going on. "I'm supposed to be here, it is my duty to be here and stop evil."

"I dunno, mister," said the child's voice playfully. "It seems real suspicious creeping around in the dark, watching people do their jobs...are you sure you're not the bad one here?"

Etamin looked at the "people" carrying strange devices with crystals He frowned. "Child, I don't know how you were raised, but creatures from other worlds carrying around strange devices with crystals doesn't fit my definition of "people" trustworthy enough to be left to their own devices." The youma kept carrying on.

"Maaaaybe," the child's voice replied with a giggle. "But how are you any more trustworthy, huh? Hiding out here, snooping, wearing funny clothes and glowing with weird energies!" There was a small pause. "'s'all... perspective or somethin, I think they say!"

Tolin Kalin Sorry this took so long, I know I wanted get back to rping the other day. Been a crazy few days. Etamin frowned again. Kid had a point. "Kid, ever see those spy movies? Like those ones where kids become become spies to save the world? That's what I'm doing, I promise you. Now go home before you get hurt." He was getting rather annoyed at this kid who second-guessed every word he said and wouldn't even show himself.

"Save the world, huh?" the kid asked again...his voice had shifted to the left. He'd apparently moved some, although hadn't been making any real noise as he did that. "From what? Aliens invading?" He sounded a bit doubtful...and possibly on the verge of laughter.

Etamin frowned. But not for the reason the kid might have thought. In Etamin's past life, he was an alien, an Etaminite to be exact, from the world of Etamin. Some of his friends and family were aliens from past lives. Some were aliens now (like Broiche, the Guardian Cat). They were all trying to save the world. But, he mused, just as the kid was making fun of the concept that aliens exist, a youma crossed their line of sight carrying something. It was a shark crossed with a tiger on two legs. One of the officers bumped into it. Instead of insulting her, like the other officers would have, it let out a growl, for that was all it could do. Etamin gestured toward the creature and simply said, "Alien enough for you?"

"Okay," the child's voice said from the dark with a little chuckle. "That one's a bit funny looking. But are you sure they're the bad guys?" He shook his head, but being in the dark, that couldn't really be seen...aside from a small glint very close to the ground. "Maybe they're just here to stop you."

Etamin frowned. "I know what I've been taught from a young child, in my many lives, - well I may not remember, but I can sense it- and destroying and hurting is never right. So child, if that is what you really are? Why don't you come out and show yourself?"

"What, and spoil the fun?" the child replied from the shadows. "Naww, way more fun to make ya wonder who you're talking to~" He giggled, and rolled onto his back, though he was still in darkness, so that didn't do much but make a brief bit of motion.

Etamin had had enough of this fun. And he had gotten what he need. "Well I'm done here. See you later kid." He got up, picked up his notes and started to walk away.
