Highwall Warren is led by young buck Asher, driven by a need to join forces with other rabbits living in the Poppy Hills-Dales borderland where something is hunting rabbits and stealing them away from their burrows. They don't know what this great threat is, but Asher convinces other rabbits that they have to face it together to survive. Begrudging and hesitant due to their own histories with warrens, Hoarfrost and Stormborn are the first to join forces with Asher, recognizing the need for safety above the need for comfort. The warren has grown, and others have joined to hold the line between their homes and whatever exists beyond known Hopscotch Lands, threatening to encroach ever further into their home.
Something is coming. They must be ready.

Highwall Warren is official! The subforum is undergoing a great deal of planning and renovations, and membership applications are currently closed. Keep an eye out for future contests and meta-events in the coming weeks.

They have a common goal to build to. The focus of the warren at this time is to establish home dens that connect to the broader community areas, and to continue building stone-supported barriers around the warren for defense, protection, and strategic advantage. In addition, Stormborn and her crew are exploring further into Poppy Hills to look for missing rabbits and interesting points of territory that might be of use to the warren in future development.
The warren exists on the borderlands between the Poppy Hills and the Dales. Most burrows are dug directly into Poppy Hills land, making it a difficult and strenuous task. For this reason, even bunnies who are not burrowers by rank are often tapped for assistance in digging out especially troublesome or significant pathways for the good of the warren. Bunnies are encouraged to dig out their own personal burrows, which will be connected by a running pathway dug out by the official Burrowers. In addition, there are several large burrows dug out to serve as community spaces, including a general meeting area, planning areas for the Rank Leaders, and storage areas to prepare for the turning seasons and limited food supply in the winter.

It is also expected that if a rabbit can help another rabbit, or assist in an ongoing warren-wide project, they will. Because the warren is very limited in members at this time for plot purposes, Asher feels that every rabbit should be willing to help where they can, as much as they can, including himself.
Currently, there are only a few ranks available by necessity and driven by the current goal of Highwall Warren, which is to construct a warren that serves as a dividing line between the Dales and Poppy Hills for lupine kind.
A rabbit is welcome to suggest a new rank, although certain ranks are locked until after specific storylines are completed.
Current Ranks
Chief of Warren
Currently filled by Asher, the Chief of Highwall Warren is responsible first and foremost for the protection and safety of his warren. He leads members of the warren as best he can in these troubled times, and does his best to be a fair and kind leader. His kindness is often to his own detriment, and he relies on his general to be the firmer paw. He'll need to grow out of this if he has any plans on leading the warren for long.
General of Highwall's Warriors
Currently filled by Stormborn, the General of Highwall's Warriors has a keen eye to the building of their defensive wall and training her soldiers and scouts to track any threat on the horizon for the warriors to investigate. In addition to her responsibilities training and strengthening their fighters, the General serves as a direct advisor to the Chief of the Warren, and often brings newcomers to him directly to discuss new membership.
Warriors
Warriors are tasked with defending the warren against all threats, both internal and external. It is expected that warriors are loyal to all Rank Leaders, but especially Stormborn and Asher. In addition to serving as the fighting force of the warren, warriors currently also take on the role of peacekeepers in the warren, helping to keep everyone at ease and safe while they conduct their burrow excavations.
Scouts
Scouts are an important part of the warren's mission, and most scouts go through a rigorous vetting process before being given this rank. In terms of hierarchy, Scouts are technically ranked above all others because they put themselves in danger on a persistent basis for the safety of the warren. Scouts are permitted to explore beyond the warren to look for signs of missing rabbits or anything unusual that may impact the warren in any way. They are not encouraged to scout alone, and especially not to interact with anything or anyone that might pose a threat to their safety. They are gatherers of information first and foremost.
Lead Burrow Architect
Currently filled by Hoarfrost, the Lead Burrow Architect is in charge of planning and building out the burrow. These plans are made in connection with other Rank Leaders to establish priority of burrow and path building, but Hoarfrost has the final say in whether plans can move forward or if there is any reason they need to be on hold or cancelled. Any bunny building a personal burrow needs to meet with the Lead Burrow Architect first, to ensure that it is a safe location and can be easily connected to the rest of the burrow paths. Like the General, the Lead Architect serves as a direct advisor to the Chief of the Warren.
Burrow Builders
Burrow Builders are another very important part of the warren. The subterranean level of the Poppy Hills is a hard, rocky place to dig, and for this reason Burrow Builders are of chief importance. Special attention is paid to any bunny with strength and dexterity enough to dig, and the Lead Architect may frequently tap bunnies from other ranks who might serve the Builders for projects in order to finish them in a timely manner. All bunnies are able to dig out their own burrows with permission from the Lead Architect, but only Burrow Builders are allowed to dig community burrows and paths connecting everything, under direct guidance from the Lead Burrow Architect.

Members of the warren are treated with respect by all, including the Rank Leaders and the Chief. While there may be differences of opinion, it's expected that all members generally support one another towards common goals. Asher strives to keep the peace in the warren alongside Stormborn and Hoarfrost, although it's impossible to be in too many places at once.
As the warren grows, this peace may not hold in the face of tensions existing outside...

All joining members must complete a RP with either Asher or Stormborn in order to be an official member of the warren. Bunnies who cannot, for whatever reason, meet with either party initially will be welcomed as a visitor, but cannot remain inside the warren after night fall for the safety of their own members.
Membership is currently closed, pending completion of the warren and upcoming events.
