It was a beautiful sunny day, the water from the bubble up spring was clear and some small bird chirped from the few scattered trees around. This was where Greymoon could be found, dipping her tiny toes into the water and laughing as the coolness reached between her toes. She flipped her feet back and forth dipping her front paws in rubbing the water over her fur. She had slipped away from her twin brother and decided to go swimming in the water that had always looked so enticing. She was a natural adventurer, she had a curiosity that drove her from the core of her body. That was how she ended up out here alone.
She peeked her head out of the water upon hearing a nearby sound. Was it a predator? She knew she shouldn't be out here alone she had been told time and time again by their caregiver that she HAD to stop sneaking away on her own. Greymoon just loved too much to be independent and to go off and hide. That was her downfall she was sure as the noise approached closer. She wondered if she should get out of the water and try to hide, but making her way back through poppy hills would give her little cover so she stood paralyzed at the waters edge steeling herself for the noise that approached.

Meanwhile Cloud stretched her tiny paws out as she woke in her nest in Poppy Hills. Today was they day she told herself. She would be brave and she would go off on her own. She was SURE her dad would KILL her if he caught her so she had to think of a sneaky way to get out of the burrow. She had planned this day for a while watching her parents and brothers natural sleep schedules, planning her way out of the burrow.
She waited for everyone to fall asleep in their nest, peeking her eyes open everyonce and a while making heavy breathing noises to fool her parents into thinking she was asleep. BINGO, it was no time before the three of them were fast asleep. Cloud treaded ever so carefully to the edge of the nest grimacing at the wall of grass she would have to quietly climb. He dad had gone way overboard with the nest, seeming to forget that she'd have to one day get out of it without a nudge from her or mom.
Getting her front paws over the edge she built-up tension in her back legs and used the momentum to fling herself up and out of the nest. Landing not a quietly as she'd like, but quiet enough that she did wake the sleeping three family members in the nest. Alight home free, from ther it was easy to slip out of the burrow and into the short grass of the hills.
Luckily her parents had chosen a spot not too far from bubble up. She had heard her father tell stories about the clear beautiful spring that was "just next door". She had been hearing this story for so long she naturally had to see it for herself. She quickly hopped off in what she hoped was the right direction keeping herself low in the grass as to not attract any predeators.

Moon crouched low toward the grass at this point desperately wishing that she had not gotten in the water, as the dirt clung to her paws and left a distinct footprint path that would surely lead any predator right to her. "stupid stupid" she chastised herself tucking her tail and folding her ears flat to her head, she knew however that her pale grey fur would certainly stand out against the lush surrounding of bubble up.
Time to face you fears she decided as she began to creep toward rather than away from the noise in the grass. She was pretty sure at this point if it WAS a predator she would never get away so instead she would go down swinging. Maybe if she acted crazy enough she could scare whatever it was off, or at least deter them from killing her and eating her for breakfast.
Moving stealthily through the grass she reached the point where she knew the sound was just on the other side. She tried her best to calm herself before flinging herself through the air at the unknown object letting out a terrible shrieking noise she was sure would scare whatever lay on the other side of the grass.

Redeemed
So there she was minding her own business, keeping her head low and steadily making her way through the grass. She would stop every once in a while to smell the air around her but her sniffer hadn't quite developed fully and honestly she was only doing it because it was something she had seen her dad do and she had no idea what she was even smelling for. She had never smelled a predator, or water, or anything but her nest for that matter. She had no frame of reference for what she was smelling, but she was sure it made her look like she knew what she was doing.
That was when she met the scare of her life. A wail, shreek like she had never heard rang out through the area and hse quickly attempted ot back peddle but not before something landed hard and firmly on her kicking and clawing. She was sure this was it keeping her eyes pressed tightly. Cursing herself for venturing without her parents, for leaving the safety and warmth of her nest. But then she realized that what had jumped on her was soft. The kicks she was receiving her weak and really didn't hurt all that much. She opened her eyes to see another kit failing and making crazy noises. "HEY! HEY! CUT THAT OUT!" She wailed pushing with all of her might against the kit on top of her. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING! GET OFF OF MEEEE!" She managed to kick free of the bunny that was attacking her and caught her breath.
