Liliane really should have been working on her dissertation, but each time she went to place her fingers on the keyboard she caught sight of the wand that she had slipped into her pencil holder. I wasn't the most secure of places but in the grand scheme of things it did fit in with the rest of the decor. The red head had quite a few unusual looking trinkets and when it came to pens, pencils and markers...something as eccentric as a magic 'wand' fit right in with them.
Nevertheless, since the very moment she had been discovered and woken up by Arthur, she had found herself otherwise distracted by a magical world as opposed to the real one. Once an ordinary girl she had been advised that she was not in fact quite so normal and that at some point in the distant past she'd been something quite different. To make things even weirder it turned out that she was probably an 'alien' as well; at some point in her life she had come from somewhere else.
...Some sort of planet?
What a kick scientists would have gotten out of the revelation that aliens did exist and various planets had been capable of holding sentient life, eh? What an even weirder discovery it would have been to find out that they were in possession of magical powers as well! Ah, but when it came to powers she couldn't say that she was entirely impressed with her own, nor was she convinced that they were going to be useful.
Upon transforming into the Senshi of Optimism she had been instructed to use her abilities, anything that 'came to mind', and neither she or Arthur had been overwhelmed. In fact, both of them had seemed quite awkward when she had cast this ability and very little happened afterwards. It had certainly done something but it hadn't been earth shattering by any means and any onlookers might have been inspired to play cricket noises from their phone (it would have suited the situation to say the least).
As the senshi of optimism she wasn't exactly feeling it right now.
What could she do? Well she smiled and apparently it healed papercuts - fantastic.
What else though?
Her lips pursed as she reached out and pulled the wand from her pencil holder; turning it over in her palm to examine it. As a senshi she was supposed to be able to do more than just heal, she was supposed to be able to combat this 'chaos' she'd been advised of and yet she hadn't the foggiest idea how to even go about that.
Liliane had never fought with anyone in her life, at least not physically, and while she envisioned herself clouting particularly annoying people in her head she'd never actually raised a hand. If someone from the heart of chaos had sought to attack her now it was extremely likely that she would lose. She doubted she'd even have the capacity to put up a fight, to give them at least something in the realms of a challenge, all they would likely have to do is look at her.
No doubt they did more than smile for their powers. For all she knew those agents of chaos could shoot laser beams from their eyes and incinerate her where she stood. They could probably leap over skyscrapers and run at mach speed... but hey, she could smile, so that would save her right?
It was with a grimace and a disgruntled 'urgh' that she tossed the wand back into the pencil holder and leaned back in her chair, staring at the partially constructed building on the screen in front of her.
Perhaps it would have been better if he hadn't found her, eh? Would certainly have been easier if she'd remained that normal girl with one responsibility only and that was to graduate but this was simply the hand she'd been dealt. She'd figure it out, she always did, but that didn't mean she was entirely sold on what she was and what the end game was supposed to be. Evidently whoever granted these mystical powers was having a laugh when they came up with her's... but maybe at some point she'd find clarity.
For now though?
Well for now she was just going to have to figure out other methods to be useful.
It would come to her eventually just like everything else did, she'd just have to keep her eyes open...
