Highwall Warren is led by young buck Asher, driven by a need to join forces with other rabbits living in the Poppy Hills-Dales borderland where something is hunting rabbits and stealing them away from their burrows. They don't know what this great threat is, but Asher convinces other rabbits that they have to face it together to survive. Begrudging and hesitant due to their own histories with warrens, Hoarfrost and Stormborn are the first to join forces with Asher, recognizing the need for safety above the need for comfort. Soon, others will join too, to hold the line between their homes and whatever exists beyond known Hopscotch Lands, threatening to encroach ever further into their home.
Something is coming. They must be ready.
Status of Warren: Accepted! Working on setting up the subforum and organizing some pre-meta prompts. Meta is roughly slated for early December to begin. biggrin

More information on warren as it currently stands, including TERRITORY on MAP (graphic) and description of the warren and its physical set-up.
Highwall Warren is in its infancy, developed out of a need to protect rabbitkind from an unknown threat within Poppy Hills that seems to encroach ever further toward the Dales. The warren was created by Asher, Stormborn, and Hoarfrost begrudgingly, as the trio understood the need for a protective force to investigate and, if need be, destroy the threat to their peaceful homes.
It began innocently enough. Rabbits often move warrens as their lives change and the circumstances permit. Living on the border of Poppy Hills and the Dales has always been a challenge. Burrowing too far into the Hills often meant laboring for days to dig out a proper sized burrow for a rabbit, let alone a small family. Softer dirt was a calling for families, and so it wasn't unusual for some rabbits to up and leave the area.
Recently, however, Asher had noticed that many of his friends and neighbors seemed to disappear in droves. Whether they moved out or were taken was anyone's guess, but some of these rabbits were those Asher was especially close to, and it seemed... strange for them to leave without even saying goodbye. Still, Stormborn and Hoarfrost insisted it was just that -- rabbits had left the borderlands for softer soil and more abundant food sources further south, as was their right.
Asher accepted that, however wrong it felt in his stomach. They were older than he was, and he trusted their judgment. Stormborn seemed on edge when the discussion rose, like she had noticed something off too, but whatever her thoughts were on the subject, Stormborn did not share.
Not until they found the first burrow. The first true sign of something that might be wrong in their little borderland paradise. Asher had only investigated the burrow because of a strange smell inside it, something rotted and tangy. There were no rabbits in the burrow, but the smell of blood was overwhelming. Something had taken these rabbits from their burrow, leaving only blood in their wake. Asher scrambled after the trail until he lost it somewhere in the Hills, far from his home.
It took several days for Stormborn and Hoarfrost to find Asher, still tracking through the hills as if he could pick up a trail that had long faded from his senses. Once they were able to convince Asher to return home, to leave the dead, as they no doubt were by that time, the trio returned to Hoarrfost's burrow. Asher made his declaration there.
"If something is hunting us, we have to stick together." He insisted on it, arguing with Stormborn and Hoarfrost the need to protect themselves and their friends from whatever was out there in the hills, targeting rabbits. Hesitant, Stormborn agreed. Begrudgingly, Hoarfrost followed. The trio scouted along the borderlands for a space to begin digging, and a new warren was born.
Highwall Warren. The first line of defense against whatever threat laid beyond their borders.

Out of necessity, currently Highwall Warren is a loose hierarchy of a warren. As the population grows, this will be refined and altered (with no small amount of drama, certainly) to better address the needs of the warren and its rabbits. Asher is the official leader of the warren, and decisions are deferred to him if an agreement cannot be met. Frequently this happens between Stomborn and other members of the warren, but generally, Asher expects the rabbits to support one another.
They have a common goal to build to. The focus of the warren at this time is to establish home dens that connect to the broader community areas, and to continue building stone-supported barriers around the warren for defense, protection, and strategic advantage. In addition, Stormborn and her crew are exploring further into Poppy Hills to look for missing rabbits and interesting points of territory that might be of use to the warren in future development.
Ranks in Highwall Warren are very important to the overall structure of the warren. However, due to the current structure of Highwall Warren, only a few ranks are currently available for members to apply for. In addition to these responsibilities, it is expected that all paws are on deck for ongoing warren maintenance. If a rabbit is struggle to gather food for themselves, or dig out a den connected to the warren, it is expected that other rabbits will assist and support their warren mate to help get them onto their own paws.
It is also expected that if a rabbit can help another rabbit, or assist in an ongoing warren-wide project, they will. Because the warren is very limited in members at this time for plot purposes, Asher feels that every rabbit should be willing to help where they can, as much as they can, including himself.
Currently, there are only a few ranks available by necessity and driven by the current goal of Highwall Warren, which is to construct a warren that serves as a dividing line between the Dales and Poppy Hills for lupine kind.
A rabbit is welcome to suggest a new rank, although certain ranks (see below) are locked until after specific storylines are completed.

Warren recruitment is ICly open to all interested in the warren. However, for storyline-driven purposes, current membership is limited to ten rabbits until the completion of at least Part One of the meta event in development. At that time, membership will be open further to fill in new and current ranks.
There are now Four Available Spots in the Highwall Warren for rabbits to apply to. For membership to be accepted, the rabbit must reside in or around the Poppy Hills/Dales border or be willing to move there. They should also be comfortable with frequent requests that may be outside of their official rank, and willing to support one another and pick up the slack of other rabbits as needed.
Asher personally accepts and approves rabbits at this time, although he does often confer with Stormborn regarding her own instincts about a rabbit before making his final decision. If a rabbit is found in the warren territory by Stormborn or one of her Warriors, they will be brought to Stormborn first, and then to Asher.
(Lucky for you, Asher is often exploring on his own, and may be easily found first).
To apply for the limited available slots prior to the application being submitted for approval, please post the following code in this thread. Note that due to the limited number of members at this time, Donut will be selective in picking rabbits that fit best in what the first leg of the story will be. DO NOT take this personally, and PLEASE feel free to reapply after Meta Part One is done with if you are not accepted prior to that.
You are welcome to apply if you don't know whether or not you will be available for Leg One of the meta. It is not required of all warren members, and we will also poll warren members to establish the best timeline for everyone to begin the meta event so that whoever can participate will be able to do so.

**General Information**
Describe the structure of your warren: Currently Highwall Warren is a loose hierarchy of a warren, led by Asher and his companions Hoarfrost and Stormborn. The group came together to defend against an unknown threat and seek out rabbits who seem to be lost somewhere in the Poppy Hills. As time goes on, the structure will be more traditional in terms of hierarchy, but currently it is expected that rabbits will do whatever needs to be done for the good of the whole community, regardless of their official rank.
Describe the history of you warren: This warren is pretty new, as far as IC developments go, and was begun by Asher, who realized that many of his friends and companions who also lived on the borderlands between the Poppy Hils and the Dales were going missing. While Stormborn and Hoarfrost were certain that it was just rabbits moving on as rabbits are often wont to do when defeated by the harsh terrain they lived in, Asher discovered what appeared to be an attack on a close friend of his, and after attempts to find her and several days lost in the Poppy Hills, Asher returned a changed rabbit with a mission: defend rabbitkind against whatever menace lay beyond their known world, no matter the cost.
Describe the ranks in your warren: Currently the ranks are very limited, and many rabbits who don't fit into specific ranks may change as new ranks are open to them. The leader of the warren is the Chief. Then there is the divisions of the Highwall's Warriors, led by General Stormborn, and Burrow Architects, led by Lead Burrow Architect Hoarfrost. There are some rabbits currently who choose no rank, though many currently operate as fellow burrowers, warriors, or scouts.
Describe the how rabbits can join your warren: Rabbits can join Highwall Warren by arriving in the territory of the warren and requesting to speak with the chief, Asher. Patrols are frequent on the edge of the border by warriors and scouts alike, who bring any newcomers to Asher or Stormborn, depending on the availability of the chief himself.
Describe any special interests of your warren: The warren's mission is to defend rabbitkind from whatever threats linger on the edge of the unknown world beyond the Poppy Hills and the Dales. Sure there is a threat somewhere on that horizon, Asher banded together with his warren to build a defensive territory there to stand as the first line of defense against any threat to the peace of known rabbit lands.
Anything else: Currently ranks and membership are restricted as part of an IC meta event. Ranks and membership access will open up after certain IC events are completed.

Rabbit Name: Lively
Personality: Tomboy through and through. This energetic bunny is all about being the best she can be athletically and loves nothing more than adventuring. She's not completely fearless, but, is usually willing to take risks if it means having fun and living life to the fullest. (An adrenaline junkie of the bunworld) She is full on and throws herself 100% into whatever she's doing. It would be rare to see her relaxing or laying about, really rare. Think of that person you know in real life who when you ask, "What've you been up to lately?" the amount of things they list literally exhausts you just hearing it.
Preferred Rank: Scout, though, I don't mind starting her as something else if you prefer and working her way up to Scout or something similar in the future. Since one of my girl's main drives is improving herself physically, she won't be averse to any hard work you want to throw at her.
What are their views on the threat Highwall Warren is defending against? Secretly she'll find the danger a bit thrilling. Obviously she wants to survive so she'll care about helping with the safe home and society this Warren is trying to construct, but also hates the idea of letting fear cripple her from enjoying the outside world. (That's why I think she'd make a great Scout.)
Are you willing to commit to any/all parts of the ongoing meta storyline? Yep! I'd love to do lots of roleplaying and my schedule is basically wide open.

Rabbit Name: Sandy
Personality: Sandy is a bright and curious rabbit. He loves to explore and really enjoys figuring things out. His favorite thing is to take off into the wild until he finds something interesting or out of the ordinary, maybe a twig broken at an odd angle, and then track down exactly what caused it. He just loves to KNOW things. He generally prefers to be on his own, not because he is unfriendly or anything, but just because he really likes his own company and he doesn't really appreciate useless chatter because it hinders his ability to think and observe.

What are their views on the threat Highwall Warren is defending against? Sandy had been hearing the rumors of something out there, posing a threat to rabbits in the area, but no one had yet to find any definitive proof. This immediately perked up Sandy's ears and he decided he needed to help figure out what was going on. He really values Highwall for the total commitment it shows to discovering this threat and eradicating it. Sandy is mostly concerned with discovering it, but he also understands the need to eliminate something so dangerous from their lands. Basically Highwall's entire mission is like a giant puzzle to Sandy and he desperately wants to be a part of unraveling the pieces and then putting it all together.

Rabbit Name: Paro
Personality: Having struggled her whole life to overcome a feeling of wrongness - as if somehow, no matter what she does, she will always find herself on the wrong side of the "right path" that guides other buns through their daily, peaceful lives - Paro has since decided to eschew the trodden paths and find her own way in the world. A bit of a loner out of necessity, she has spent much of her adult life wandering through different territories in search of something right, something that can set her restless heart at ease. She strikes a delicate balance between militant self-reliance and debilitating self-doubt, threading a fine line between the two to keep herself functional. On the surface, she can be cold. She doesn't wear her emotions in the open. But dig a little deeper, and one may find a cautious but fiery passion underneath. When she finally finds her calling, she will embrace it with enthusiasm.

What are their views on the threat Highwall Warren is defending against? For Paro, it's not so much about what they are fighting as it is about the fight itself. She's looking for a purpose, and if this faceless threat will give it to her, she will go with it whole-heartedly. What drives her is the sense that they are building something for a reason, and it doesn't matter to her how fantastical that reason may seem.

Rabbit Name: Kindling
Personality: Kindling has a vivid imagination, a fiery passion to do what's right, and a stubborn streak to back that passion. She's been a bit of a knight errant thus far, wandering the land and providing assistance where she can - though she's been on the wrong side of her own "law" a... Number of times. (How was she supposed to know the rabbit furiously chasing down a kit - who looked terrified, mind you - was his older brother and not a ne'er-do-well!?) As one could imagine, she's a bit of a "shoot first, ask questions later" type - but one who is more than willing to stick around a couple weeks and help out to make up for any misunderstandings.

What are their views on the threat Highwall Warren is defending against? She has no doubt there's something out there, and she's more than happy to have found a warren dedicated to fighting against it while still helping out the average rabbit. Rabbit Name: Dark Ember
Personality: Much like her name suggests Ember is a spitfire. She is stubborn and hardheaded. She doesn't take orders well UNLESS you outrank her. She is loyal a fight for you live for you die for you kind of bun. She can be sassy and one hell of a smartmouth but she can also give respect when respect is earned. She might mouth back to a fellow Warrior but NEVER to the captain or a general. She is however empathetic and looking to help wherever it is needed. She doesn't necessarily do everything out of kindness rather her need to stay busy. If she isn't posted on guard she's building a house or tending the surrounding land, she lives perpetually off four or fewer hours of sleep, and normally that four hours is not at one time. Some might say this stems from her paranoia or anxiety. She KNOWS something is out there, she knows they arent ready yet. She isn't prepared and therefore there is no time to sleep! She is fierce, and strong she believes in training every day on both her agility and muscle tone. She believes this will help her be ready when the time comes.
Preferred Rank: Warrior first, but if she has extra time off duty she would spend it as a Burrow Builder.
What are their views on the threat Highwall Warren is defending against? She KNOWS the threat is real. She knows that she is willing to dye fighting it and will spend every waking breath preparing against it.
