Army War Burrow

This burrow is wide and open, allowing for movement and training within. Maze can often be found here, training or pouring over maps of the Tanglewood and surrounding areas, concocting battle strategies.

The Army of Bramblefell trains daily and is run with an iron paw by Captain Maze. She is only interested in the very best rabbits as her soldiers and has been given authority over all aspects of training and warren defense by the almighty King Joxer.

Special training programs and tactic simulations will be held here.

I am training my body!
Rabbit Name: Maze
Describe Your Training:
Maze wiped her paws and stood up on her hind legs to take a look around the main burrow she had been working on for the army. It was huge and cavernous and she grinned as she admired her handiwork. This would make an excellent place for training her soldiers. Right now the space seemed overly large and every thump of her large back feet echoed around the empty chamber. Soon though, soon this space would be filled with the sounds of soldiers in training, her orders being barked out among them, as they all perfected their bodies to be the best killing machines a rabbit could be.

She dropped down into a long stretch. First stretching out her front legs as long as they would go and then leaning again to stretch out her back. She groaned at the satisfying pops that occurred as she limbered herself up for training. Shaking her head and letting her ears flop around her for a moment, she craned her neck this way and that with satisfying cracks before swiftly sliding into her initial attack pose. She debated what to practice today, maybe leaps? Maybe slides? Jabs and kicks? So many things she could work on perfecting. She decided to work on some flying kicks because those happened to be her favorite.

There was something so peaceful about working in this large space all on her own. No one around to have to monitor or deal with. The other captains were busy setting up their own headquarters and King Joxer was hard at work planning the beginning phases of Bramblefell recruitment. Maze took in a deep breath of this quality alone time and then leaped high into the air with a powerful spring of her back feet. At the apex of her jump she twisted her body and shot out one huge foot, holding it straight and grunting as if she had struck an invisible opponent. Upon landing she brought her foot back under her and landed with a strong stance and a cloud of dirt. So satisfying. She loved the way her body felt in the air. Strong and agile as she trained it to do what she wanted.

She tried a forward flying leap next. Bounding forward a few steps before darting up into the air at a forward trajectory and bring a back foot out so that when she came down it slammed, heel first into the soft soil. Maze imagined in her head that an opponent’s head had been in the way and grinned as her imagination supplied the wonderful cracking sound that would occur when her foot connected with their skull.

Maze continued practicing her leaps and kicks until she was panting and her ears were burning with exertion and heat. She had worked up quite the appetite and went to search out her King. She wasn’t sure if the Treasury was up and running yet and needed to ask her King how their food situation was coming along. As she hopped down the passageways, she reveled in the burn of her muscles. Knowing they were just becoming that much stronger.

I am training my body!
Rabbit Name: Scar
Describe Your Training:

The shifting seasons brought a warm uncomfortable air to the outside in the Tanglewoods, leaving Scar to stay close to the warren and inside the burrows. While he didn’t mind the conversation among other rabbits in Bramblefell, he found himself having little patience for it. A group of rabbits often led to gossip and dramatics, and Scar had long lost the taste for involving himself in the day to day interactions of the rabbits. So long as he conducted himself properly, and did his job well, he would be rewarded with the freedom to be left alone.

Training was another convenient way to avoid interacting with the rabbits of the warren, excluding other soldiers. Even they more or less left him be, which he appreciated. A mysterious new buck who’d joined the army so soon after his arrival was sure to bring with it a flurry of rumors and questions, and they were only made worse by Scar’s refusal to indulge.

It was no one’s business. He did his job to make his King and his Captain proud, and that was all he cared for.

The cavernous burrow assigned to the warren’s army unit allowed for plenty of space for Scar to stretch out before his training, and it seemed more or less empty today, which he appreciated. The buck stretched himself out as far as he could forward, groaning in pleasure at the odd pop of his back as he stretched. Raising onto his hind legs, he looked around, taking in his surroundings.

He preferred to train outside, but the summer sun was a bit much for him today. So be it. He’d be easy to find if anyone needed him, at least.

Scar began to train, running around the perimeter of the burrow. He strained to stay as close to the border of the burrow as he ran, mindful of the entryway in case any poor rabbit tried to enter and got run over for their efforts. A few laps led to the buck feeling energetic and ready for a fight. He slowed to a stop, ears twisting to listen for others.

No one seemed to be coming his way. Good. He’d almost feel bad if he wound up kicking some unsuspecting rabbit while he trained.

The buck began going through a series of drills he preferred, taking measured steps forward and kicking back against imagined targets. Each kick was analyzed and corrected. It was too bad they had no targets to work with, but he supposed it would be inconvenient and take up unnecessary space. Trees and branches in the field would suffice for these exercises in the future.
Scar went through a series of increasingly hard and complex kicks and spins, running and jumping through the air so he could twist and kick forward with force and gravity behind him. Each led to a landing, most neat and allowing him to spin back to face his target.

A fair few resulted in him sliding in the dirt and wall beyond it. He’d have to work on those more. Scar continued his drills until his lungs burned for fresh air and he felt warmer in the burrow than he would outside. He ended the training session with a run, panting softly, and left the cavern after one more look around the space.

Maybe he’d broach the topic of training aids to the Captain soon. It certainly couldn’t hurt.

I am training my body!
Rabbit Name: Maze
Describe Your Training: Maze was practicing her slide tackles today. With the excitement of the spooks who had been roaming her forest, she decided she needed to work on some more aggressive tactics. Now granted the spooks had turned out to be simple kits who did not pose any threats, but they could have been anything. She wanted to be prepared for anything and that menat practicing skills she was less fanmiliar with. Maze loved doing flying jumps and kicks and it was this area in which she excelled. However, she could objectively see that she practiced these skills more than any other since they were her favorite. And like she told her recruits, it was important to practice all aspects of combat in your training, because you never know what you might need to use when you are out in the wilds of the Tanglewood. Maze had explored much of the forets but it was vast and there were more places she hadn’t been that she had. Who knew what was out there. There were many tales of large dangerous creatures but she had yet to see one. The most dangerous things she had come across were stinging bugs and aggressive birds, some of which did try to eat rabbits. She had actually secretly been hoping the spooks would turn out to be something more challenging, but no. Just more kits. It seemed like Bramblefell was full of kits at the moment and they were extremely irritating little things, always underfoot and getting in her way. She took a deep breath and tried to return her mind to the task at hand. She had the whole training burrow to herself since the army was still so small, and Scar was off duty at the moment. Centeruing herself in the middle of the grounds, she looked to where she wanted to end up and then entered into a long galloping run that ended in a slide through the dirt with her powerful back legs out in front of her, this is how she would cause the most damage in a sliding tackle. She needed to practice getting thjose back feet out in front quicker as they were her strongest weapon. She did running slides over and over until she was panting and covered in dust from the dry soil of the burrow. She pasued for a moment and shook of the dirt that had accumulated around her ears. Maybe if she was able to use something solid as a leverage poiunt, she could get more speed and power into her tackles. She backed up to the wall of the burrow and placed one large back paw against it, feeling the weight of herself against the wall. Then with a powerful lunge she leaped forward and twisted her body quickly to get those legs out in front of her. Ah yes, that was the way. She smiled to herself as she practiced this new move and became more and more proficient at sliding those legs out fronty quickly. She was definitely getting better at these slide tackles and kept working until she was too exhausted to do more. Time for a good grooming session to get rid of all this dust.
