Rabbit Name: Uzo
Describe Your Shift:
It was the first night in their new warren and Uzo was keeping watch outside the main entrance. She and Maze had worked on digging out the initial burrows into the thick tangle of bramble and had succeeded in getting to the massive tree that grew right from the center of the patch. King Joxer was very pleased with them for this as he had decided the tree would make an excellent back drop to his throne room. She smiled with a manic gleam in her eye as she thought about her king busily constructing his bramble throne. He was such a good king and she was just absolutely ecstatic about his plans for this warren. It felt good to finally belong somewhere. To have found their home and be making it an empire.

The sun was setting over the Tanglewood forest and the air started to get dark and still like it does right as the day shifts to night. This was one of Uzo’s favorite times. The air became so still in these few moments. The day animals and insects were headed to bed and the night creatures were just stirring and there was the brief moment in between where it seemed like nothing was alive but her. In truth, Uzo loved standing guard. She used to stand guard for King Joxer all the time before he was ever a king and before they were even grown up. She enjoyed being awake when others weren’t and she loved being in on everything that went on.

Tonight for instance, she scanned the tree line in front of the small clearing ahead of Bramblefell and watched as night bugs buzzed in the dying rays of the sun. Those silly little creatures with brains you couldn’t even see. They had no idea what was going on except what was right in front of their buggy little eyes. She snatched a paw out and slapped one of them to her arm. She reveled in the slight squish sound and the way her paw came away juicy with its guts. Such simple little things. It had no idea it was about to die until right when it happened. What must that life be like? She shook her head. Uzo couldn’t even imagine. She was constantly aware of everything around her. Even now she knew that shuffling to her right was a beetle in the grass, the buzz in front of her were blood sucker bugs looking for a meal, the leaves in the trees rustled as the wind blew against them. It was one of the things that made her such a good guard. She busied herself again with squashing and killing one of the blood suckers that had tried to land on her back. Unlike these idiot things. Barreling through life until something killed them, blotting out their existence like it was nothing.

She could hear that King Joxer had finally settled for the evening. Deep in the burrows of Bramblefell he was safe, and Uzo would continue to make sure he stayed that way as she vigilantly kept her eyes on the dark surrounding them.

Rabbit Name: Captain Uzo
Describe Your Shift: Captain Uzo strolled through the passageways, staring at every little thing that might possibly be out of place. It was a quiet evening so far. She wasn’t too concerned as their warren was not that large yet, but one never could be sure when things were going to get wild and when she would be needed. The maintenance crew was doing a great job keeping things nice and neat in the tunnels and she could tell that the citizens were happy. It had been a good spring and we had plenty of food in the treasury. It was a wonderful life here in Bramblefell, and, Uzo grinned, her King was the greatest of them all. She had a bit of a manic smile on her face as she hopped around the next corner. And then she suddenly came to a stop with her ears twitching. In this burrow were about 5 or 6 kits all running around and tripping over themselves. Hmmm… She narrowed her eyes a bit and stalked closer so they could see her shadow on the wall of the tunnel in front of them.

“And what’s going on here?” She asked loudly, causing the nearer of the kits to jump and swivel around in fright. They all immediately scattered and Uzo sighed. It wasn’t worth it to go chasing after them, the fear she is instilling in them is enough. That way as they grow they will learn to respect authority, unlike that little weasel that had been caught destroying the burrows and writing horrible things about King Joxer. That one was a lost cause, and she was glad he had been banished. The warren was filled with kits right now thanks to Kokia and Cookei. It’s not that Uzo didn’t like seeing the warren grow, but she was not a huge fan of kits. Finch and Magpie were an exception. They had never truly acted like kits in the first place. It was as if they came out grown. She had easily shaped them into the perfect guards and they loved the king as much as she did. These other kits… well they were a handful and who knew what kind of rabits they would tuyrn out to be. Well, she would just have to wait and see if any of them would need banishing as they grew. Kokia and Cookei were fine, they were quiet and kept to themselves and she liked that about them. It was always best when the citizens didn’t cause problems. Made her job easier. Now that the passageway was clear, she turned around and made her way back to the start of her post, intending to go the other way, maybe scare up a few more kits. It was best to train them young, she smiled to herself. That was the way to get the most peaceful and accepting citizens. Captain Uzo did not abide by mischief makers and rule breakers and until proven otherwise, every rabbit was one of those. She would do everything she could to nsure the young ones grew up into outstanding Bramblefell citizens.

Rabbit Name: Finch
Describe Your Shift: Finch leapt through the burrow tunnels, jumping up against the walls and back down again, because who said you have to walk like a stiff tree to be a guard. She knows that's how Captain Uzo does things but Finch just can't keep so still like that she just cant it doesnt come naturally to her. She is rounding one of the tunnels when she hears pitter paterring down further and she sighs and then grins. That definitely sounds like the hopping little feet of little tiny kits. She knows there are quite a few of the around right now. And she greatly looks forward to scaring them any chance she gets. She doesnt trust little rabbits anymore, not after that one awful pipsqueak who was defacing the beauty of their warren with his stupid commentary on the magnificent King which wasnt event TRUE.

She darts down the tunnel, following the sound of little hoppy feet as they start to move fatser. they must have heard her. She full on grins at that. oh good! A chase! That is always more enjoyable. She calls out in a shrill sing song voice, "Hellooooo little kits! I heeeear yoooou and I'm coming to geeeet yooooou!" She barks out a laugh when the little hoppy feet speed up again and she can even hear a nervous little shriek. Oh what fun!

Finch moves swiftly and darts through the shadows the tunnels make with the little bit of winter light that filters through the bent vines over head. She is gaining on them, she can tell. There is now a distinct sound of panting and little kit whimpers as they try to run from her. "What are you doing my little pretties?? Whgat makes you run from me so!!" She screeches out as she rounds another curve and just sees a little fluffy tail disappear into another bend in front of her. With another smirk as wide as her face, she races after her quarry. Not really knowing why she wants to catch them other than that they are running from her and scared and now she wants to cartch them and make them even more scared.

She is so intent in her chase that she almost smakcks right into the one and only Captain Uzo. She skids to a halt and looks over the captains shoulder to see three little faces peering nervously back at her form the other end of the tunnel. She wants to go get them but she just sneers at them insterad and then turns her attentions respectfully to her captain. "Yes my Captain?"

Captain Uzo gives her a hard stare and the gestures for her to follow. "We are needed in the King's chambers." Finch rolls her eyes but follows./ She was so close to getting those little brats. As they pass by, one of them sticks their tongue out at her and it takes all of her willpower not to leap at them, but she forgot that Captain Uzo is the one who raised her. and before the little kits know what to expect, Captain Uzo suddenyl darts their direction and hisses like a snake. All three little kits scream and take off running, tripping all over themselves. Captain Uzo lets out a chukcle and Finch cackles loudly. Well that was the best.
