Redeemed
Joxer and Uzo were sitting under the Joxer’s favorite over turned log. It had become a bit of a meeting place for them ever since Uzo discovered him there and Joxer let her in on their plans. Uzo was a little crazy but Joxer really enjoyed how she did whatever he said and she was really good at being intimidating, it was kind of great. His siblings never came to bother him anymore with her around.

He was pointing out a part of his plans to her. He had been thinking more and more about packing up and leaving this stupid meadow behind. He was so sick of all of it. No one had any structure here. Every rabbit just did whatever they wanted and went wherever they wanted and it just wasn’t practical! He had so many great ideas and there wasn’t a way for him to implement them here.

Both Joxer and Uzo flicked their ears suddenly to the north where they heard a rabbit shriek. Uzo immediately grinned, excited to go see what may be unfolding. Joxer sighed and nodded to her, allowing her to investigate so he could continue his brainstorming. She was gone for quite awhile before he heard her hopping back over, with another set of pawsteps in tow. Curiously he turned to watch Uzo and another rabbit make their way under the log. “What have you brought me, Uzo?”

The new rabbit was young, her ears fell to the side of her head and she had unsettling light blue eyes set against a white face that gave her a rather ominous appearance. Joxer was immediately intrigued. “This is Maze, Sir Joxer. I found her up against a boulder with a group of bucks around her. She was under attack but….” And Uzo smiled at this, “The shriek we heard came from the leader of the group. She had latched onto his ear and was ripping it open!” She finished with an excited flourish. “She fought all seven of them off while I watched.”

Joxer looked at Maze and nodded with impress. She merely smirked and shrugged before saying, “I find most rabbit’s can talk the talk, but very few have the guts to follow through. I like the way it makes me feel when I take them down. Powerful and strong.”

Joxer nodded while his clever brain was running a mile a minute with a new division. His future warren empire would need a powerful defence. An army that could defeat any foe and keep his citizens safe. A strong and powerful leader would be a must. He gave Maze a piercing look, “I can promise you much power and strength if you join me. How would you like to be in charge of your very own army? Under my command of course.”

Uzo looked back and forth between the two with a manic excitement on her face. Maze’s smirk grew and she bowed slightly to Joxer, which pleased him immensely. “I would be honored, Sir Joxer.”

It was happening now. Joxer had two loyal and trusted companions. He had a plan. It was time to leave the meadow behind and seek out his future kingdom.
