COMPASSIONATE – Amber is easily the kindest and sweetest girl around. Gentle as can be, she wouldn’t hurt a fly. In fact, she’s rather incapable of doing so as she hates seeing harm done to any one person or animal. Constantly looking out for others, she’s sympathetic of others and willing to help if at all possible. Considerate and overly thoughtful, Amber would be there in a flash trying to help make things better. Thinking about others just comes easy to her. She’s just a caring young teen with the need to help others when it matters most. CHEERFUL – Amber is a cheerful girl despite everything that has gone on. She seems to always be in good spirits and is overly optimistic. Though at times her optimism can be extremely unrealistic. It’s uncommon for her to seem less then happy, though there are times when she can appear worried or completely unsure and deflated. With her overly bubbly attitude, she is quite energetic and outgoing with others she’s built a relationship with. She is the furthest thing from quiet when she knows she can talk with someone, even if that person doesn’t want to hear it. NAIVE – Right off the bat Amber appears to be rather oblivious to the state of things. She has a reality in her head that is far from the truth. In fact, she has a child like innocence to her thoughts and actions more often then not. This in turn makes her quite gullible. Believing in the good in others when at times it might not actually be there, is she sadly rather trusting. Amber lacks knowledge on how to survive in a world full of lies and uncertainties. Though she more often then not remains blissfully unaware that her views are lacking and sort of depth. FORGIVING – If Amber happens to figure out (or is told) that some has lied to her, she is usually quick to forgive. She doesn’t hold grudges on people and is more then willing to give another person a second chance (and on rare occasions a third) so long as her sister isn’t around to veto her decision. Amber doesn’t let the fact that someone messed up or took advantage of her kindest get her down. Even when her own sister bites her head off, she’ll always forgive her and move passed whatever argument her sister was having. She knows there are far more important things that she needs to worry about. CURIOUS – Amber is also rather inquisitive, asking twenty questions or more when she had something on the brain. She wants to know more and when she wants to know she’s going to ask. Learning new things, she has a curiosity to know more then she did the day before. If someone knows something she doesn’t, Amber will be sure to ask all about it. SENSITIVE – The most prominent things surrounding Amber is just how sensitive she is. When things go wrong, she cracks under the pressure. Sylvia is the only one who can usually snap her out of her own mind and get her passed it. This just shows how much Sylvia influences her as when her sister isn’t around, she panics. Fearing that the worst will happen and that her sister won’t return. Positivity goes out the window when she’s isolated and alone. On the plus side, Amber can be very delicate when dealing with other people when something is troubling them. Not to mention she can tell when things are just plan off in a room.

HEADSTRONG – Sylvia is probably one of the most determined and opinionated people around. Stubborn as hell she’ll stand by her opinions and ideas, even if someone were to try to sway her. Changing her mind is no easy task. Believing her way is usually a good way it takes quite a bit to change her decision. Not backing down from her believes No matter how badly they differ from someone else, Sylvia has little care for her lack of conformity. In fact, she can be rather argumentative with others especially those viewed as authority figures. She is simply not afraid to have an argument or fight with another person. OUTSPOKEN – With Sylvia’s opinions comes her outspoken nature to speak them outright. At times she can be quite candid, speaking her true thoughts with no filter. She has no problem being blunt with people and telling it like it is, even if they don’t want to hear what she has to say. In truth, she has very little tact with regards to sharing her thoughts and feelings. This can easily come off as just plain rude as she rarely sugar-coats things. Though she may not be the most pleasant person to deal with, one can say good bad or otherwise she’s at least honest. TESTY – To say Sylvia is calm cool and collective would be the furthest things from the truth. In fact, it doesn’t take much to push her buttons. She’s far from being a patient person and likes things to happen in a timely fashion. Sitting around is simply put not her thing. This among many other things causes her to be easily irritated. She had a very short temper and is most of the time rather grumpy because of it. The smallest of disagreements can quickly turn into full blown arguments with Sylvia around. With that said it is not unheard of for her to bicker with her sister over the simplest of things. LONER – Sylvia’s short fuse and opinionated nature make her the furthest thing from a people person. In fact, Sylvia hates socializing as she simply finds it annoying. In most cases she’d rather avoid human contact and live a life of solitude. She’s very much a lone wolf and only deals with others when she must. Sylvia would be completely isolated if not for her sister who is far more outgoing. With the state of things, Sylvia has become even more unsure of others preferring to play it safe. However, she also knows there is some truth to there being safety in numbers. PROTECTIVE – Despite her blatant annoyance for the human populous, Sylvia is surprisingly quite caring. She has a rather protective nature when it comes to whom she ends up close too. She is extremely overprotective of her sister Amber, feeling she is her responsibility. This has led to her vigilance towards other people’s behaviours and/or actions, as well as possible dangers in her surroundings. Refusing to let others become hurt she will move mountains to insure it. Oftentimes this leads her to get into confrontation when she sees someone harming someone close to her. DEPENDABLE – Seeing someone she knows in need of help Sylvia isn’t the type to leave them hanging. She’ll be there no doubt about it. Someone you can depend on, she’s there when you need her. Guaranteed, she can be trusted with just about anything. Though not perfect she is loyal at least to a point. First and foremost, family comes first. Sylvia isn’t about to put that in danger. Not for just anybody at least.

QUIET – Kara’s a quiet individual who prefers to listen then speak her mind (most of the time). This is especially so during moments of confrontation. The more she can find out the better things will be in the long run. When she does talk it tends to be soft and even toned. She really isn’t one to start an argument and typically tries to prevent any arguments from occurring. You can also be sure she won’t gain much attention since being rather quiet even while on them move. She doesn’t like to attract attention and prefers to blend into the background. Though don’t be fooled she will state her peace if she has something to say. INQUISITIVE – Despite her silence, Kara has an inquisitive nature. Full of intrigue she’s one for getting in close and coming to understand what’s going on. However, when she first enters a situation, she’s one to assume what’s going on without anything backing her assumptions. At times this can lead to her assuming wrong which she is quick to apologize for. Though, she will work to learn all she can after the fact, even if it includes getting into someone else’s personal business. She can be rather prying in order to get the ball rolling into somewhat of conversation although she tries not to push it too far. POLITE – Kara’s politeness doesn’t just stop after she assumes the wrong thing. In fact, she is polite on a general basis. She’s well mannered and respectful to other people and unless given a reason not to she’s thoughtful with her words. Her aim isn’t to hurt people but to help people. Though, generally she doesn’t personally care about other people’s problems. Not as much as she leads others to believe at least. However, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care for those around her. Kara will always try to keep things civil regardless of her feelings. As being discreet yields results and doesn’t draw attention. PASSIVE – Ever since her mother passed, Kara turned far more accepting of what her father wanted. Her passive desire to go along and comply with what others see for her or say for that matter extends even further than just her father. Although being rather selfless with regards to what others want, she isn’t completely so. She’d hardly put herself in the position to stick her neck out there if someone else is around willing to do so. However, she will certainly consider helping. She also isn’t a total push over either. Though, she won’t stand in the way of others and will accept the actions and behaviours of others, she won’t just sit completely by. Especially if it meant leaving a friend to suffer the consequences. LEVEL–HEADED – Kara is generally rather calm although she can have an occasional temper. Granted it rarely shows. Being realistic and in turn sensible on what can and cannot be done, she’s decent at planning and can also see the chances of a conversation ending in compromise. She’s pretty good at playing the mediator in a conversation. Most of the time being able to calm a heated situation. Though that’s not to say that when a conversation does get heated or something manages to agitate her that she won’t put her two cents in. CONFIDENT – Despite being passive, Kara is quite confident with her ideas. Since going off to school, she managed to reassure herself that she could do well with her studies. That she knows what she’s talking about. Though, she is quiet about it, that doesn’t mean she isn’t sure of what she’s saying. Kara will state her peace in a conversation and leave it at that. If given the opportunity she would share her opinion and would defend it. However, she wouldn’t go so far as to argue over who’s right and who’s wrong. Kara is more then willing hear the other side of the argument. Though she’s more then willing to agree to disagree if it means keeping things calm and at the very least civil.

xX BACKSTORY - PRE-OUTBREAK xxxxxx
spaceAmber was born three years after her older sister Sylvia to John and Jollen Morin in November. Her parents a writer and a florist had married shortly after finding out about their first daughter. Amber was always cared for and always deeply loved. Her big sis Sylvie was always there for her no matter what was going on. Amber spend most of her time with their mom helping to care for the flowers. They were always her favourite part of being at the shop. It was hard when she found out she had to go off to school but knew she’d be just like her big sister.
spaceThroughout school Amber found herself bullied from time to time. At times she was overly naïve to the fact that that’s what was really going on. Her oblivious nature being the main reason she was picked on. Luckily, she always had Sylvia to come to the rescue. All her troubles would more or less go away thanks to her sister. Plus, Syl always tried to cheer her up afterwards. It was always the two of them even when their parents died in a car accident. Amber had just turned eleven when it happened, and she had no idea how to deal with any of it. She found herself looking to the only person she had left, her sister.
spaceMoving from Dallas to Rockwell to live with their grandparents, Amber turned to latching onto Sylvia. The young girl found herself being the victim of her sister’s anger issues since their parents’ passing. Though she found Sylvia still cared enough to stand up for her at her new school. The only other time she wasn’t being snapped at was when she’d sneak into her sister’s bedroom to sleep at night. This caused her grandparents to become concerned. Between Amber’s insecurity and Sylvia’s anger issues, it wasn’t long before both girls found themselves in therapy. The idea of therapy went decently well for Amber but not so much for Sylvia. Almost done with middle school, Amber was happy she’d head off to high school. The same high school that Sylvia went to. Though she was saddened that her sister would be graduating before she got there. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t matter as the outbreak hit before she got the chance to go to Rockwell High.
spaceWhen the chaos hit, Amber had been with her sister and grandparents. Planning on meeting up with a few friends out of area, they packed up what they could and left the area they had called home. Along the way they were caught up horror of mass panic. Amber found herself covering her ears to drown out the screams before her sister grabbed her and dragged her onward. Managing to find a small building to stop in it became known to Amber that her grandfather had been injured. Their grandmother told Amber and her sister to go on without them and that they’d meet up later. Following Sylvia and saying goodbye to her grandparents Amber was certain she’d see them again soon.

spaceSylvia was born in spring as the first daughter to John Morin and Jollen (at the time) Andrews. It was young love. The moment they found out they were expecting they tied the knot. For three years it was just Sylvia and her parents until her sister Amber came into the world. The moment she found out she would be a big sister she was ecstatic. Taking to the role rather quick she kept the young girl safe and out of harm when their parents couldn’t. Which was rare because they were always around; John being a writer and Jollen being a florist. It wasn’t truly until school started that Sylvia took to defending her younger siblings honor. School for Sylvia caused her a lot of grief when Amber started going off to school as well. She felt the need to protect her. If there was someone bullying her, she’d make sure it never happened again. Despite her issues with being overprotective she was although lectured on her tactics was also praised for looking out for her little sis.
spaceThings were simple, the occasional problem here and there until she started Highschool. Halfway through the school year their parents died in a car accident. It was then that Sylvia and Amber moved from the somewhat busy area of Dallas to the small area of Rockwell to live with their grandparents. The transfer midway through the school year irritated Sylvia and with the lose of her parents her only way to deal with it was to get angry. Simple things set her off and she became not a nice person to be around. Not even Amber could snap her out of it and was a constant target for the girl’s backlashes.
spaceSylvia’s frustration hung around years after getting her into all kinds of trouble. It even landed her in therapy which went over like a lead brick. Though she was still there for her younger sister when needed, still feeling more then ever that she needed to look out for her. With the amount of trouble Sylvia got herself into it was a miracle she was even in contention to graduate high school. In her final year she was so ready to be done with Rockwell and head off to college much to Amber’s dismay. Sadly, the outbreak occurred before she got the chance to skip town.
spaceLeaving home once again, Sylvia headed off with her sister and grandparent to meet up with friends who were out of area. It was believed to be safe and anywhere was better then where they were now. Unfortunately, along the way they were caught up in the chaos. Mass panic hit and everything went from bad to worse. Sylvia watched as her grandmother was knocked down and her grandfather had come to help. In that moment he’d been attacked (if you’d call it that). Shaking herself out of her paralyzed stat, Sylvia grabbed her sister and raced off. Luckily her grandparents were able to get away and together they found a small building to hide out in. After a short breather, Sylvia was instructed to take Amber and continue on without them. Knowing it wasn’t safe for her sister, she agreed and headed off with Amber in toe. Sylvia knew full well they wouldn’t be seeing their grandparents anytime soon but knew that Amber was still largely optimistic.

spaceKara Beth Wells was born and raised in Mansfield Texas. The only child of Peter Wells a doctor and Mary Wells a school teacher. Ever since Kara could remember she wanted to dance. Some would say that she danced before she actually walked. The moment she could speak that’s all she talked about leading her mother to putting her in dance lessons. By five she was heavily into dance and spent her days working on the moves laid out for her. Any time she was dancing Kara was happy and she never planned on stopping.
spaceHer mother was very supportive of her choice to do dance. Kara wanted to be a dancer through and through. There was no changing her mind on it. She went to dance class after dance class for nine more years. Sadly, it was then that Mary passed away due to illness. Blood sweat and tears went into her routines and her mother had been so proud of her. The sudden passing of her mother was hard on the girl. She was fourteen and in high school, feeling just that girl who’d lost her mom she, she went into her shell.
spaceWith Kara’s mother gone, she felt unable to get on the dance floor. It was then her father had decided for her to quit dance. To give it up after putting in nearly ten years of work, stung. Though she didn’t want to give up on her dream, she didn’t like to argue with her father. It had always been clear that Peter had wanted her to go into psychology. He’d never been nearly as supportive of her dancing as her mother had been. So, Kara despite having no real interest in the subject pushed herself into her studies to make her forget about the missing piece in her life.
spaceGraduating top of her class, Kara headed off to university to study Psychology like her father wanted. She even went to Rice University which was the school he had wanted. She wanted to make her father proud and worked hard to do so. Making friends with her dormmate, Kara mostly kept to herself. Feeling distractions would bring her grades down. Though, she was far from being a completely silent roommate that didn’t at least chill out in the dorm from time to time. Sure, it was only after her assignments and readings were completed that she did, but she didn’t fade completely into the background.
spaceIn her final year, that’s when everything started to fall apart. She’d heard the reports but never thought much of it. When the schools started shutting down that’s when she started to worry. At that point she decided it was time to head home. Heading back home, she ended traveling with one of her closest roommates. Their paths led them in separate directions after a while, leaving Kara on her own but at least closer to home. Getting back home there was no sign of her father. Knowing she couldn’t hang around, she continued on her way in search for any signs of her father.
