Surprisingly, Sumner wasn't at the beach. He was at one of the rarely-visited parks in the afternoon. He was powered up, but not being near a somewhat-large body of water made him a bit nervous to be this way. Sure, he didn't really have any advantages when it came to the water. He certainly couldn't swim faster, hold his breath longer, or breath underwater as a "Neptune Page", but still, it was where he was most at home, so being in this park was a bit nerve-wracking. He had heard that he needed to "patrol" around the city, and decided that the park filled with the most flowers and rarely visited by anyone, because there were many "Do not step on the flower" signs and apparently people just didn't like to go to parks where they had to stay on the path, was where he had decided he wanted to go. He had only just gotten there when he felt... something. He wasn't sure what it was, but it felt friendly. It didn't feel evil to him, but he was curious as to why he was feeling a certain way in a certain direction. Even though the Senshi that had seen him awaken had helped him with a few questions, he still had many, many more. He was only glad that his mini guitar had a strap on it, otherwise it would have been a pain to lug around as he went off in search of the mysterious feeling.

With the weather as beautiful and warm as it had been these past few weeks, it was only natural that Squire Manu found himself wandering around his favorite flower-filled parks.
The sweet smells on the breeze lulled him into a wonderful calm that helped soothed his mind and his heart. So much had happened... So much time that felt like it was lost, wasted. So much pain that came with heart break. He wanted to find a way to distract himself and not fall into that depressive stupor he once found himself in before. Manu didn't want to give up. Not this time.
So here he was, wandering, letting his mind flow and let thoughts come in and leave little by little until he felt another knight nearby. And before he could even react to it, there he was, standing before a page he did not recall seeing before. He welcomed the distraction.
"Good evening." He spoke, his voice soft despite his large stature. "Are you having a good time out here so far?"

Soon enough the person who was giving off the... whatever it was that Sumner felt had gotten close enough to him and Sumner couldn't help but realize an eyebrow at the other's outfit. It didn't look like it belonged here at all. Of course, neither did Sumner in his weird one-piece outfit that he still wasn't comfortable in, so it meant that the other was probably a "knight" like himself. "Uh ah, good evening." It was a little nerve-wracking, Sumner wasn't used to any of this, and talking to someone else who was, he felt, more powerful than he was made him a bit nervous. "Sorry, I was just on patrol here. If this is your area then I can leave." Though that would be a bit silly wouldn't it? Did they really have their own patrol areas? Shouldn't they be working together? He didn't know, but he certainly didn't want to insult the guy who looked like he could thoroughly thrash Sumner.

A new encounter was always made better with peace.. and tonight was peaceful, most certainly. Even so, it seemed the young man before him was a little uneasy.
"No, it's not a problem. There's no area that's strictly 'mine' to patrol. We are all on the same side, no harm in keeping company and sharing the responsibility that comes with what power we have." Now he smiled, offering the page a hand to shake.
"I'm Manu, page of Chronos. It's a pleasure to meet you. Are you a newly awakened page?"

Sumner relaxed a bit more when the other had reassured him that Sumner had not intruded upon anything, and felt a bit better when he was told that the other was a "Knight" like he was, though neither of them were actually at the "Knight stage". "Yes, I am. It was... a surprise." He said, remembering the stupid rock-crab-youma-thing that he had had to fight. Couldn't it have chosen sometime earlier to "awaken" him when his life wasn't in danger? "I'm still... learning everything and I've gotten some guidance, but I feel like I'm still missing out on a lot you know? And I feel as though there's danger around every corner now." Part of the problem with awakening and realizing that you were now caught up in a magical war that you didn't even know had existed before. Ignorance really was bliss. "I'm Sumner, Page of Neptune. Though that's probably obvious." He thought his outfit was obvious at least. It still bothered him a bit. Why couldn't the top half have been separate?!

"This whole 'Knight' business is certainly a hard thing to get used to, and I've been awakened for a year now." A whole year, though he spent a good chunk of it unpowered, far too focused on his civilian life.
"Hehe, yes, you are very much a Neptune Knight, no doubt about it. It's a pleasure to meet you. Do you typically come to this area to do your 'patrolling' or did you just happen to find your way here tonight?"

Sumner felt himself grimace. He didn't want it to be too hard to get used to, but Manu had already been awakened for a year! Perhaps it was more like real life knights, where one had to practice for years before making any real progress. He wondered when he would even have the time to start improving if he didn't do it as much as he had to. Though perhaps in the winter he would have more time. He would just have to see. He shook his head in response to Manu's question. "Usually I patrol by the lake. I feel more comfortable there and that's where I usually hang out anyway. I want the area to be safe even when I'm not powered, so I try to patrol it when I can." Which hadn't been much so far, but he was still working for most of the day and was almost dead-tired by the end of it. "You usually patrol around here though? I don't blame you, it is pretty nice around here." He still preferred the water himself however.

"... Actually, I don't find myself patrolling that often. I'm not purposely out on a daring adventure to protect the weak, or to defeat monsters. When I go out, I simply... Wander. And think. It's safer to do so powered up than not." That was one thing Manu truly lacked, any real goals or directions. What little goals he had were gone now...
No, he didn't want to dwell on those thoughts for too long.
"The lake is pretty nice too. I suppose that only comes natural, you being a Neptune night, hmm?"

"Well, it's good to know that you don't have to be on the job 24/7 when powered. I know how it is needing to take a break when working." He couldn't imagine working so long either. Not only doing a day/night job and then working as a Knight or Senshi? He had yet to work the schedule out, but it was no wonder they had trouble stopping this "Negaverse" thing. He blushed at Manu's conclusion. "Yes... it would seem so. I do love the water, but if I had known about all of this, I suppose I would have understood why my mini guitar looked like this earlier." He said, taking the mini guitar off of his back and showing it to his "companion". "My sister has her own family instrument. They were both passed down from generation to generation and well, I guess we never knew what it was for until now... or at least me. I don't believe that anything has happened with my sister yet. And I don't plan on telling her what happened to me unless it happens to her too." It would be too weird otherwise, and he was pretty sure that she would ask if he should be seen by a doctor or something. "You said you were a Page of Chronos though, what type of Knights are those? I mean I guess Neptune is pretty obvious, but Chronos sounds like it has something to do with time or whatever." He grimaced for a moment. "Sorry, not trying to be dismissive, I tend to speak pretty bluntly."

"Sometimes we don't always understand why we look as we do, or are granted the powers we have." To further explain, Manu summoned his own hoe to his hand, showing off the large golden, flower shaped head of it.
"But sometimes, they are alot more obvious than you think. My powers are all flower based. Healing, warmth, that sort of thing. It makes sense to have a garden tool as my 'weapon'. Perhaps yours will be about your music and how you play." He thought of his own sister, his own relationship with her... She would believe her if he told her, but it wasn't something he wanted to worry her with.
"No... No, not really. Chronos isn't time in the harshest sense of the word... More like the changing seasons. Time goes bye, but it's all in rotation. And our focus is more nature, that I've come to realize. My power, specifically is healing, but in a rain of petals so... Perhaps safety or protection as well."

Sumner jumped in surprise as he saw Manu's appear in his hand. It still surprised Sumner when he summoned his own "weapon". It was just very sudden for him. Sumner thought about it for a moment. "I hope so. I mean, what you have makes sense, but I don't even know what my powers are. I wish I could use them already." He had heard that he would need to be more powerful though. "Yours sound cool though. At least it helps others. At this point I'm kind of useless since I'm not much of a fighter." Why they were allowing those who didn't even know how to throw a punch correctly in with all of these others he had no idea, but he was pretty sure they must be desperate. "I've... heard some things about Knights. Apparently I need to grow more powerful to get my magic. How does that work?" Or at least he wondered how one acquired more "power". Was it through battle? Was it something more physical that he had to search for and retrieve? At any rate, it sounded a bit too much for him. "I mean, I don't want to get more powerful necessarily. Because otherwise this seems all too... real." He was looking at his feet, absent-mindedly stroking the mini guitar now.

"Don't think too harshly on yourself, Sumner. We all learn, little by little, and I know that oneday, you'll reach your potential. It comes before you even realize it." It was true for him, and he was certain it would be true for others as well.
"It's... Complicated, but you will need to go to your wonder, and figure out what you protect. Your power isn't yours alone, but comes from a source that has made you it's caretaker. It's very much real, and you are very much connected to such a place... Have you been there before?"

Sumner shook his head. "No... I've only heard about it. Honestly I don't really have any clue as to how to get there in the first place. Not sure if I want to go either. At least not without company the first time." After all, he was going to be in a literal alien world, he would rather go with some others than try to face it alone. "I'd like to see it sometime though, but first I feel like I need to get a feel of just being a "Page" you know? Not sure how much opportunity I'll get though." After all while the Negaverse had seemed to be a very large threat according to the information he had gathered so far, there didn't seem to be much of anything happening? Apparently Youma attacks were uncommon, so he didn't expect to run into one of those too quickly. And then of course there were supposedly "agents" that he would have to face, but so far hadn't found any and was wondering what he was supposed to be looking for and wondering if he had missed any already. Not that he wanted to run and fight them, he rather liked not having to battle so far. He just knew that without the practice, he wouldn't be a good fighter which meant more pain and possibly death if he didn't learn how to fight rather quickly.

"It's... Well, you know, I don't think I can give much advice about that particular thing. It's a feeling, honestly. A connection that just pulls you along.Though, I've always been called a strange one, so I may not be doing it right in the least." Manu was certainly a dreamer, and the idea of spiritually connecting to somewhere in space seemed very natural to him. Warm and wonderful and just the right thing to do.
And he knew for a fact that not everyone could suspend their disbelief and allow the Cosmos to take them over.
Thinking about that made even him feel silly.
"As I said, there's no rush to do anything. Do what comes naturally, and focus on what you want to protect. With that as a focus, you'll grow."

Sumner felt himself grimace a little. "A feeling?" He said with a bit of icredulity. He immediately regretted it. "Sorry. I know you're being helpful, I just... wish that it was something more concrete you could tell me, you know?" He hadn't felt quite this frustrated in a while but it wasn't Manu's fault. It was just... was there a reason they weren't given a manual when they were "awakened"?! Seriously, they should have brochures or something! "All right... that sounds good, at least right now." He gave the other a small smile. "Thank you for talking to me about this. I know more than I knew before... but I also feel like I have more questions too." He sighed. "But I suppose they'll be answered eventually. I should get used to a slow adjustment for all of this." He could think of it as learning to play the guitar when he first started. There was progress, but it was hard to tell how much until he finally realized that he was able to play quite easily the more he practiced. "Thank you Manu. I'm glad to have met you."Kapoodles I am so sorry for the late reply!
