Sunny happily munched a flower petal as she looked out over Meadowseet. The flowers were so beautiful! She always loved this time of the year. It was so sunny and happy and colorful and everything was just perfect! She put her nose right down into a gorgeous little purple flower and sniffed deeeeeep. What a smell! What a life! This is the best day ever! Her little nose started twitch, twitch, twitching and she let out a huge sneeze that made her whole body jump. She collapsed into a fit of giggles and started rolling around in the flowers. That was so silly!

Pip was searching for some just right flowers when he saw a bunny as golden as the sun. Wow that fur is prettier than the sun shining through a daffodil. Just then the golden bunny sneezed and collapsed into a fit of giggles. And Pip burst out laughing. He was so filled with joy and so completely socially clueless. But he knew he had to try and be best friends with this hilarious bun! So, as always, with little thought he followed his heart. He leaped closer in his flashiest binky. He landed, tumbled, and rolled onto his side. In an attempt to look like it was all planned, he put his paws out in his most fabulous way and said in a sing song voice, "Hi I'm Pip and I think your neat!"

Sunny looked up from where she was flopped in the flowers when she heard the swishing and hopping of another bun. Then said bun came crashing into the flowers next to her and introduced himself with a song. A song! She started giggling again. What a fun way to introduce yourself! She could do that too! She’s never thought about it before but how happy and silly!! She decided to give it a try. She leaped up and stood on her back legs with her front legs up in the air, “Hi I’m Sunny and I think you’re silly!” She called out in a sweet little voice trying to imitate the melody that her new friend Pip had used.

Pip burst into a fit of giggles. "Wow Sunny! You're the best!" In his Pip way he started talking way too fast. "Do you want to be best friends!? Aren't all these flowers amazing!? Do you know all the wonderful things you can do with them!? I just discovered them the other day! You know you can wear them and play games with them..." He reached up and plucked a particularly large purple flower and worked it on to his head. "See!" He reached up and plucked another and offered it to his new friend.

The giggles just kept on coming as Sunny dropped back down to all fours. Her new friend was the best friend! “I would love to be your best friend, Pip! And I love the flowers, but I had no idea you could do so many things with them!” She daintily took the flower from him and put it on her head to match his. With a sudden bout of inspiration, she grabbed another flower and stuck it on top of the first flower. “Look, pip! Double hats! How high do you think we can make our flower hats??”

Pip chittered happily. “Yes! Best idea! From my best friend!” He cheerfully hopped about collecting all the best kinds of flowers to use for hats while babbling away in his sing-song style. “Oh we’ll collect our flowers, our favorite colors, we’ll pile them on our heeeeads! We’ll count them up! Up to the sun. We’ll count from Sunny to the Suuuuuun!” As he began piling them on his head he realized that the taller they got the harder it was to place them without them spilling everywhere. “We might have to help each other friend,” he said with a grin.

Sunny just couldn’t stop giggling! Her new friend was just the most fun and silly thing ever! She hummed along to his little song as she helped gather nice big flowers for their hats. While Pip started stacking them haphazardly on his head, Sunny began carefully placing each little flower just SO atop her ears so that they made a beautiful rainbow stack. “Oh, Pip this is so much fun!” She happily grinned at her friend as he started to struggle to reach the tippy top of his flower hat tower. “Oh yes! Here, I’ll do your next hat and then you do mine! We can go back and forth!” She stretched to her tippy toes and placed the next flower on his stack. “There you are my good sir!” She said in a very exaggerated fancy tone.

Delighted by being called, "good sir," Pip took a deep bow. Which of course made his stack tumble everywhere. He laughed and rolled around in the flowers now scattered on the ground. “Oh this is just the best! Usually I play flowers by myself, but it's even more fun with a friend!” He sat back up and began replacing his flowers. Well the ones that weren’t to mashed up anyway. Once he had a considerable stack again he offered to put the next one on top of Sunny’s hat stack. He bowed once more, being careful not to upset his stack this time, and presented her next flower. “Where do you hail from milady?”

Sunny giggled and bent low in a curtsy to bring her towering rainbow hat of flowers closer to where Pip could place the next one. Maintaining her very fancy voice, she smiled happily and said, “Oh yes this is such a wonderful time of friends and flowers! I hail from… um… the meadow?” She didn’t really know where she hailed from but that seemed like a good answer. She was currently in the meadow after all.

He placed the next flower carefully on her rainbow hat stack. “Just the meadow, no warren?” As they continued to build their flower towers, Pip broke character and began babbling away about the bunnies he’d met recently and how they’ve all come from different places. “It’s so neat! And they like to do fun things with flowers too! Dyes too, they do real neat things with dyes! Do you like dyes? What's your favorite thing to do?”

Sunny flipped up another flower onto Pip’s stack of pretty hats. “Wow! Flowers and dyes? What… what are dyes?” She hadn’t actually ever heard of that before… “Yeah it was just me and my sister and our parents. We just kind of stayed in the meadow and played all day! I haven’t really met many other bunnies but I liked meeting you!” She smiled sweetly at her new best friend forever and was overcome by the desire to hug him so she did. “You’re the best Pip!”

Pips heart was full to bursting. He hugged his new friend right back. “You know we should make some best friend things to wear!” He began gathering long stems and twisting them into circlets. “We can gather some more flowers to poke in these little spaces.” He gestured to the places in between the woven stems. “Like this he gathered a couple of small flowers and poked them in the gaps. See!” He pushed it onto his paw. “Pretty right!?” He began making one for Sunny as he explained what dyes were and all the wonderful things you could do with them.

Shine was fairly certain her sister had come this way. She hopped forward hesitantly once, twice. Was that giggling she heard? Staying low, as not to be seen, the little bun nosed through some grass to peep at the gigglers. It was Sunny for sure, and somebunny else playing and giggling. What in the world are they doing?? She wondered, tilting her head. She wondered if she should just back away slowly... but... she always liked to go where Sunny went and they did seem to be having a good time. "Hello....?" She asked very shyly. 96 words
