Kanja liked the genomes, he really did. But sometimes, he wondered if there were others like him in the dome. He hadn't met any other 'natives,' as he'd been called. What if there were others outside the dome though, and he didn't know it? If he were to be honest, that would be the one reason he'd want to go out of the dome, to meet others like him. He happened to stumble across a one-eyed genome today. He'd met him before in the training rooms. A serious genome named Argent. Today, the man was practicing outside, quite far from the ship. Kanja sat near by where the man was training and talked to him, questioning if he'd met any other natives.

He had spent a good deal of time alone. After Argent's incident, he had largely kept to himself, at first not wanting to see his friends, and to see them pity him, and then, he wanted to get stronger. Soon, the genome found he had isolated himself from everyone he'd known, really. In some ways, that suited him fine. He could protect everyone equally if he wasn't attached to anyone. But at the same time... he was a little lonely. When he'd first encountered the strange scaled native, Argent had been surprised. The kid was polite enough, so he thought little of it. Now, he was regretting that. He should have tried chasing the kid off. Now, the scaled child was talking to him as he was trying to run through his paces, asking questions about natives. He paused his training to think about this. It had been a while, he'd met a strange girl once named Robyn, but he didn't really know her. Then he thought about the tiger he'd met. "...I have met other natives. Not exactly like you of course." He hefted his training staff over one shoulder and turned to face Kanja. "I haven't seen them in a while, but..." He sighed. He'd actually been avoiding Eden. The feline had tried to visit him when he was injured, but he'd pushed the boy away. "I suppose we could try and find him." Argent lead the way back to the ship, and after depositing his weapon in the training room, he wandered down the familiar halls to where he knew Eden's room to be. Would he be in? Argent knocked on the feline's door.

Eden had concluded his training for the day. He was sore and tired but he was more than used to it by now. It was routine. He enjoyed it since it helped him get his pent up energy out. But still, he was bored. His room was a mess; furniture with nice deep claw marks as decoration, objects strewn everywhere. A familiar mess that he hadn't bothered to clean cause who was there to care but himself?
A knock on his door perked his ears up. "What do you want?" He was curious, not expecting guests. He opened the door, peering up at the figure on the other side. His ears pressed back, tail twitching, slightly annoyed. "Oh, you..." He looked at the accompanying native then back to Argent. "Did you need something?" He sounded less than friendly as he eyed the two.

He was actually surprised Eden remembered him, but maybe he was just acting. "Yeah. Me." His eye focused on the native and the unfriendly greeting. "I don't need anything." He reached behind him and grabbed Kanja by the arm and dragged him to the front of himself. "This kid wanted to meet other natives. You're the only native..." He trailed off. Really, Eden was the only one he knew well enough. "This is Eden. Eden, this is ... uh..." he didn't remember the kid's name.

Not expecting being grabbed, Kanja squeaked in surprise as he was suddenly in front of Argent and looked at the feline-like native. "Oh, you aren't like me at all." He remarked curiously. "Fascinating. And you live on the ship? No wonder I haven't met you before. I live in the lake outside. I'm called Kanja. It's a pleasure to meet you!" He was oblivious to the tension in the large genome behind him.

Eden's eyes narrowed as Argent spoke. He looked at Kanja raising an eyebrow. "So you ditch training me, speaking to me in general, and all of a sudden want me to babysit?" Honestly, he had nothing against this new native, he just wanted an explanation from Argent. He crossed his arms, still not acknowledging Kanja.

Ah. That explained a lot. "No." He said simply, wondering how he should say this. "...After the... incident" he didn't elaborate, and Kanja didn't seem to notice "I didn't want to see anyone." And then being alone turned into habit. "This kid just stumbled upon me the other day and... Well..." Oh hell, why was this awkward?

"Oh, what's that behind you? Is that a cage?" Kanja was peering past Eden into the room. The conversation between the older native and genome wasn't concerning to him, so he was trying to be polite and not listen in too much, but he was also curious about the other native. "Do you have a pet? Does fur ever get itchy? Or really hot? I find my scales get itchy when they dry out."

Arms still crossed, Eden scoffed. "Incident?" What could have happened that left Argent to close off pretty much everyone. Yet he was hanging around this kid, or rather trying to pawn him off on the feline native.
Soft chirps could be heard from the cage in his room. Eden eyed the oblivious native. "It's a bird. Yes? Doesn't everyone get itchy from time to time?..." He sighed, looking back up at Argent, waiting on some sort of explanation or a sorry or something at least.

Argent sighed. Kanja was fascinated by Eden's bird, so he felt it ok to ignore the lad for now. "Aren took me back out to the blackbird." He wondered how much Eden heard about the Genome Flagship. "While we were there, a beast... well..." he gestured to his face and his missing eye. He had been angry for a a while after that. He couldn't do anything to the beast. He had felt... weak. He didn't want to see anyone, then wanted to be stronger and threw himself into his training.

"Weak?" His tail swayed back and forth angrily. Argent was one of the strongest people he knew. Something really bad must have happened to him; his eye, that scar....
"But still... You could have said something!" He huffed, there wasn't much use at this point. What was done was done and now there was this other kid here. He huffed, piercing orange eyes scrutinizing him. "D-don't.... Don't do that again then. And you gotta train me now! Kanja, you wanna get strong too? Do you like to fight?" Maybe this newbie could be his sparring partner, but he wasn't sure if he was the type.

"I didn't want to. It was dumb, I know. But... I didn't want you to pity me." Was that it? Maybe that was close. "But, I've gotten used to this now. So if you think I'm going to go easy on you in training, you're sorely mistaken." He was o course willing to train with Eden.

"Huh?" Kanja snapped back to attention. "Me?" He hadn't really thought about training or fighting. He liked swimming and fishing. "I've never tried to fight before. I've seen some of the others train. It at least looks interesting. I could give it a shot?" He offered a little sheepishly.

"Why would I pity you when you have cool battle scars?" The native seemed to vibrate with energy. "I wish I had cool battle scars!" Eden slightly preened him self, imagining himself adorned with a different scar each with their own story.
"Kanja! If you spar with me, we can do something you wanna do too." He nodded.

Argent's eye widened in surprise when Eden said the scar was cool. "Mmmh, don't mind the scar." It was more the losing a body part he hated. "I suppose this is when Ghost would say something about not rushing out to get hurt. But I'm not as good at those speeches." He then clapped a hand against Kanja's back. "It would be good for you to train some too. Never know what could happen."
