Non Wrestling Related, but... Maybe a Hard choice to choose, or not...?
But when reading about characters or watching characters, what is your preference?
The four options are in the poll above. By all means vote, and maybe drop a reason. Just doing a bit of research.
I did this on Twitter and got these results:
Magic McGuffin item 24% Powers based on elements 29% Transformation device 19% Natural Transformation 29%

For me it varies based on the character.

MidnightBlue9999 For me it varies based on the character. Except if 'you' had to pick one. What is your preference? That's pretty much it.

A hard choice since I like most of them. But ultimately, I went with Element Based Powers. Something about being able to manipulate/control an element (ala Avatar: The Last Airbender, where each culture has an element) is super neat to me. I can't really pin-point why exactly. But it kinda stems to my RPing days. Elemental RP's were just very universal and easy to grasp, where as anything else, such as vampires/werewolves/etc had strict rules to follow. Not sure if that makes sense.

to use I like either a gadget for power or for transforming (or both) like transforming my out of shape body to my peak physical condition (hey a child grew twice his height in power rangers turbo) but I'd also love a time control gadget

I'd place a wager that a number of people on the Twitter poll were Naruto or Airbender fans. I am too, but if I HAD to choose one, I'd go with the Natural Transformation. Repped the Druid hard for that Werebear transformation in Diablo II's expansion pack and have a fondness for Jekyll/Hyde characters like Hulk, so...

Wild-Eye Sky I'd place a wager that a number of people on the Twitter poll were Naruto or Airbender fans. I am too, but if I HAD to choose one, I'd go with the Natural Transformation. Repped the Druid hard for that Werebear transformation in Diablo II's expansion pack and have a fondness for Jekyll/Hyde characters like Hulk, so... While you might be right, I polled actual writers who do original content. Natural Transformations (like Werewolves and s**t) and Elemental powers are easier to write for because it's easier to understand. This person has naturally gifted powers, and can control fire or they were born with the ability to control fire, or they learned how to control fire through X means. Which as Dally stated, is easier to comprehend for most people. This person got bitten by a werewolf, now they become a werewolf, etc. Easier than the other two, because more often than not Werewolves and Vampires and s**t like that follow a set of rules (Not saying, for the most part, it cannot be changed, but more often than not, there's a certain established set of weaknesses, strengths, etc.) McGuffin items like Green Lantern rings or Master Swords, The 'One Ring' or Mjolnir or what have you, have to generally have lore explained into the creation of said item. Which can be a task in itself Same could be true for Transformation items like Power Ranger morphers, Kamen Rider Belts, Sailor Moon s**t, etc.

Certainly one perspective but I'd mention a possible reason for people liking natural transformations or elemental powers being their roots in culture from the dawn of mankind. It's been woven into the fabric of humanity from the beginning. Used to be, elemental forces were powerful, primal, and they could both save and destroy you on a whim, leading to so many societal and religious influences over the ages, same said for the mythos of natural transformations.
Folklore is commonplace around the world about things mundane as sneezing, how doing so could turn you into a fairy or how it was a demonic essence leaving the body. There's also a big proponent of elemental reverence in most Indian cultures so I also enjoy it for that reason. But while it may seem basic I prefer to think of it as fundamental.

I don't disagree with the logic.
From a creator standpoint it's easier to incorporate elements or transformations
Instead of Magical items or Transformation items
Because where does this item come from, how was it made, for what purpose. From a creator standpoint, it'd have to be explained eventually. And some people don't want to do that. That's the mindset I got

If an item created by I dunno Iron Man or Batman were around... I'd choose that..
Or some Sword in the Stone type thing. Chosen one stories are kind of fun, and have the viability to have a lot of twists and turns.

Though the 'tricky' thing is One Piece, as the items are 'fruit' and fruit is natural.
Generally speaking.
Plus certain fruits can transform you, certain ones give you elemental powers.
I'd put it in the McGuffin item list.
Bleach, I'd go with 'Natural Transformation' Because the capacity transform like they do was within them the whole time.
Naruto is probably closest to McGuffin, for the most part. Certain clans aside like the Uchiha, with their 'eyes' Most of the characters learn their abilities through scrolls or are taught it. It's not 'Natural' like Naruto's sage mode, or Jutsu. Yes they trained, but they still had to 'learn' it by being taught
Avatar is Elemental obviously, though Aang was taught various elements, Korra on the other hand already knew the techniques and just needed to have them refined.
If that clears up any decisions.

What would you consider powers like in FMA, or One For All in Boku No Hero?
