They'd been on the move for weeks since crossing the border into the roguelands, and while some in their party had begun to look somewhat bored by the lack of action they'd seen, Æinarr remained positive. There was plenty of time to raid for goods, or to take thralls - in the meantime, he was enjoying a new terrain to explore. His camouflage-patterning suited the dusty plains all too well, allowing him to creep up on desired prey much more easily than he was used to, although he was guilty, on occasion, of using that to simply observe some of the smaller creatures that seemed so plentiful here, by comparison.

In an attempt at covering more ground, the captain had sent them all off in different directions, in hopes of one of them finding a trail worth following - and while he was enjoying the freedom to explore at his own pace as a result, that didn't mean he was going to slack off. Fortunately, he could kill those two birds with one stone. Smiling ever-so-slightly to himself, Æinarr peered down into a small canyon, emerald-green eyes narrowing as he searched for any sign of life.
