This apprentice she knew, though it was only a matter of time before new lightningclan cats emerged from their nursing dens. This one was unfortunate enough to be be the last in the den before the boon and sorrow of all those kits. All his playmates had to have been too small for him to really play with before he was old enough to move out of the den.

Well, he was out here so she would help him. Unlike a practice fight with the Warriors, Shadowstar tried to look less intimidating and chose to fight from a crouched position. Smiling at the apprentice she went after him with far more playful of a paw to the head.

It was a shame she didn't have time for apprentices as a Leader, there was nothing more special than to watch an eager young apprentice grow into a capable warrior.
