Another extremely fluffy cat! Just what was Brightstar putting in their kill pile after Riverclan left? At least this one wasn't quite so blurry with all that fur. Not for the first time facing a cat like this she marveled at how long it had to take just to keep that coat clean. Bareleaf would be kind to a cat like that, and they would be popular with cats like herself.
Another time, this practice battle would teach her more about fighting cats like this. Forestclan willing that would never come to pass. Getting into postion, she took off making the wide turn classic of a flank attack. Only, instead of going for the other's flank, she bit at the tail. Curiosity was too strong, she wanted to know if the tail was anything but fur.

Cindergaze watched the female with the intensity in her eyes that she was named for. She remembered Shadowstar's strength, but it had been a long while since she'd met with the other. At this point there were no hurt feelings. She just appreciated the fact the other wanted to spar with her. She'd take any training she could get... It could be helpful in the future if it came to it...
She watched the other closely, ears twitching as she prepared for the other to make her move. She tensed and was ready to leap out of the way when the female moved suddenly and she felt the other bite down on her tail. She yowled and tore it from the other, quickly trying to calm down the furr that had been displaced from it. Who did that!?
He ears flattened and she ran at the other.

It wasn't just hair! That was a facinating discovery. The other facinating discovery was biting fluffy cats just left you feeling like you had fur on your tongue. Making a face, Shadowstar stopped fighting to try and clear that feeling.
Ugh! Never biting another fluffy cat again. Good lesson to share with her--Cindergaze's body rush knocked her off her paws long enough to remind her she was in the middle of a battle. Ah, yes.
Flipping back other she reach out and swipped at her left shoulder in part because biting was a no go and again there was testing to be done about if the fur helped in other ways

Cindergaze couldn't help laugh at the other's reaction to a mouth full of fur. Since the female had to care for the same fur every morning, she knew completely what the other was going through. Served her right to ruin such a marvelous tail!
She gloated for too long and was knocked off her paws. She yowled in shock, scrambling on the ground for a moment before leaping at the female again, this time trying to claw towards her face and faking over to her side. Oh man had that stung!

Well, her paws were real. One lesson learned, With that discovery, the Warrior worked on deciding where to go at her next. Was the shecat the same size as her fur or was there more fur than cat? Start with avoiding the counter attack.
Paw to the face, she used the closeness to get in a hard swipe to the side of her neck fluff.

Cindergaze flinched at the attack, feeling claw meet flesh through the mane around her neck. It seems the female was getting the point and was going for deeper attacks. It worked, 'cause otherwise, she would have gotten a claw full of fur.
She pulled away from the female to gain her bearings again before faking a body slam before swiping at her feet.

Usually she wasn't one for getting any joy in causing pain to another. This was still a true fact; however, the discoveries made this even more of a game. It wasn't often that she had the chance to fight different kinds of cats. Her other two favorites being Sparrowflight and Exotichunt.
Smiling dispite herself, Shadowstar almost seemed not to notice the attack on her paws, she just made sure to hop the other own over the offending furry paw. Now, she made her own bodyslam in the form of a short burst pounce on the other cat.

Cindergaze realized she didn't understand the true power of a body slam until the other had used the same attack on her! Suddenly the female was down and out, huffing and puffing to gain her breath back. That was definitely something she'd have to remember for next time!
She was weary, but got back on her paws to try again!

Something else she learned just now, all that fur made bodyslaming Cindergaze so much more comfortable. That was probably not the lesson the other cat wanted her to learn.
Practically purring she crouched down low to calibrate her counter attack. Three, two, take off full sprint right back into the other cat taking just a bit too much joy in this particular fight.

Cindergaze paused and tilted her head at the other, ear twitching. W-was she purring? She tried not to laugh or smirk at the other. That was the last thing she expected from this practice battle! Well, guess she couldn't say she was glad she was providing such enjoyment for the other.
She side stepped the attack smoothly, attempting to trip up the other as she passed her by.

Okay that was a smooth dodge, even smoother trip attempt. Cindergaze did manage to succeed in knocking her off balance between two legs, Unfortunately the rip of her back paw happened after she had a chance to regain her footing from the front.
That meant she had one paw off the ground and the other three compensating for it. Taking advantage of that one, she pulled her paw back then shot it out to back kick the other cat.

So, that didn't go entirely how she had hoped. Even so, she had learned something valuable from it. Her ears perked up as the last paw standing came flying back at her. She felt a claw n** before she leaped her way to the side. Oh, that had been a quick response.
Man, she was slowing though. She attempted to lash out at the foot with her claws knowing she didn't have much left in her!

Every battle had something to teach, Cindergaze proved herself to be an apex teacher. Had they been the same clan, this battle would have earned a gift of a fresh kill.
Since they weren't and she went to claw her poor hindfoot, it was only fair to hop paws and knock her one with the other back paw. Equal footing as it were.
Yes, she was very funny.

Cinder yelped at the sudden return attack at her own paw. She grinned at the other as she lifted it up. It was only fair of course. She sat herself down and started to tend to it as well as her other wounds.
After some silence she looked back up and smiled sweetly at the other. "Losers tend to the other's wounds. If you'll give me the honor as a leader and all."
Cinder is out!
