The weapon is based on the Chinese Type 85 Chinese .50 caliber machine gun, but is modified in many ways, using stronger materials and higher production quality. The objective is create an incredibly small and lightweight machine gun, roughly the size of a sniper rifle, using more advanced design techniques and materials. Intended to be crewed by a 2-3 Man Sniper team, and used like a hybrid between a sniper rifle and machine gun, it is very similiar to the XM312 project by the U.S., but uses a simpler, smaller, and higher rate of fire machine gun. The gun while small, compensates for the higher recoil of the very large cartridge in four main ways, a heavy muzzle break, a long constant recoiling system similiar to the Stoner 63, a recoil buffer and dual spring recoil guide rod, and a bipod with a recoil dampening system. The constant recoiling system spreads the force of the action over time and removes any instantaneous jerk of the weapon, making it easier to handle, and giving more time for the energy to defuse. The recoil buffer and dual spring guide rod work to help smooth out the action of the gun, reducing recoil by 30% and reduce the peak recoil force to a fraction of the full recoil of the firearm. The recoil dampening system works by allowing the weapon to have some give and reciprocate while on the bipod, thus further spreading the force of the gun over the gun. The combination of the low recoil, low weight, and lightweight caseless ammunition, as well as high accuracy, allows the weapon to be easily carried by infantry forces, despite the fact it is a full sized machine gun.
